View 1 RepliesI've got the Verizon Jetpack MiFi and cannot figure out how to create a bridge with a D-Link DAP-1513 to get internet. Eventually this setup will be connected to a DVR but for now I'm trying to use it on my laptop to make sure it's going to work. I don't have networking experience and have been trying to figure this out for almost 2 weeks now.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMIFI 2200 works with the USB connected to the computer but, won't transmit to another computer. It is a desktop. So I put in a wireless card. It will identify that the network is there but, will not access it. Is there a difference between what a desktop wireless card will access and what a laptop or mobile device will talk with. There seems to be because the MIFI will connect to a Droid and a laptop but, not to the desktop I want it to.Is there a different card or some kind of USB thingy that I can use to make the two devices talk.
Additional:
MIFI is a verizon cellular product to connect up to 5 computers. It will work when plugged in directly but, not when it has to use the wireless card. The computer I want to connect has a wireless card and will recognize the network but, won't connect. It is a desktop, not a laptop or mobile device.Turns out that you can buy a WiFi adapter in a USB plug and play device for a newegg price of 7.99 dollars to a high price of about 150 bucks. Is there any card that I can put inside the computer so I can make this permanent?
What I wouldn't give for Comcast. Is there any way to speed up this thing? It's 3G MIFI. Is 4G that much better, nor is it dependent on the signal?

Now my internet works, but when I went to my D-view cam (this is where the daily footage is stored for security camera DCS-930L), I can't make the connection. It says COM1 is not working. I know the camera works through the wireless router, but somehow the connection between the camera and the D-view cam doesn't.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-655 (RevA) which I have been very happy with when used with a broadband wireless ISP. We just recently obtained Frontier DSL and I want to use my already configured DIR-655 with the new service. I have successfully bridged the Westell 7500 DSL modem provided by Frontier (DHCP server turned off, mode set to bridge-bridge.) I tested this by attaching a laptop and verifying that it was assigned a WAN IP address and that I could ping resources on the Internet.
When I attach the DLink and start it up, it gets a WAN address and everything looks good, but I can not ping (from the router) to any resource on the Internet (by IP address), including the assigned gateway. It goes without saying that computers attached to the DIR-655 are also unable to ping addresses on the Internet. Oh, I have cloned the Westell modem's MAC address to the DLink router as well.
Any special settings in the DIR-655 that are required to work with Frontier/Verizon's DSL network? Or compatibility issues? and I've updated to the 1.35NA firmware.
Can't connect DAP-1522 to my Verizon Fios Router
Went through the setup on the DAP-1522. Selected my Verizon FIOS wireless network and entered the WEP key. Everything looks ok on the status page - except Status: Disconnected
Reset/restarted and reconfigured DAP-1522 several times - same result. Can't get it to connect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedBackground information, have had the 4150L for probably about a year and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. I just updated the firmware this morning and it still seems to be working great. This is the first upgrade I have ever done to it. Anyway, what I am trying to accomplish, I have discovered that I can remotely connect to my office computer through my iPad using itap RDP and a VPN connection. I have already been able to use itap RDP in the office to show patients their x-rays etc... on the iPad. I have a cisco RVO82 router and my office software suggests the use of a PPTP VPN to connect remotely. I have checked all the settings and I have everything set as described. The iPad shows a VPN connection icon but when I try to connect to my computer, I get a TCP error. From what I have read, some people are able to connect via VPN on the 4150L and others are not.
