I cannot connect my Kindle Fire to my Wi-fi router.It works when I'm out and about ie it connects to the internet but never when at home. I have also tried connecting via a static IP but that also fails. When attempting to connect my Kindle Fire if I have another device already connected eg my LT or DT they also become disconnected

I have kindle fire that is unable to connect to the wireless network.All otehr devices windows phone, xbox and laptop are able to connect seamlessly.Amazon also sent me a replacement, but the issue is still the same. The error is:

"Unable to connect to the selected access point, Please check the password you provided."

Also, I removed the security on the network to see if its able to connect without password.The state where it fails is Obtaining IP address and it fails again.

I just acquired a Kindle Fire for my wife. Joined my Dir-655 network just fine. I have never done a firmware update (using 1.10) and have lived by the "if it ain't broke. " axiom. Dell laptops, Mac laptops and desktops, Wii, X-box, LG Cinema TV, Roku, iPad, multiple iPhones and iPods all connect and work fine (with the occasional (once a month) reboot of the router necessary). Using cable modem (bridge mode), no historic issues. Suddenly when the Kindle Fire is utilizing the network at the same time as one or two other devices, the network crashes, and a power down reboot is necessary. A Google search reveals a fair number of complaints about this across router brands.

I am trying to get my parents Kindle Fire to work. They recently purchased a Motorola Modem/Router which is hooked into the desktop and works fine. I want to get their new kindle to work and can not seem to figure it out. Their operating system is Vista which I can upgrade to Windows 7 if that would make it easier. When I click on setup the WiFi part of the installation wizard cd that came with the Motorola it says there is not a network adapter. I know what that is however I do not know why I would need it when the desktop is hooked directly into modem/router and I just need the WiFi for Kindle.

How do i connect two internet routers to one IP address range?I currently have one broadband router connected on 172.16.0.3 subnet 255.255.0.0, I have a second line which is a copper ethernet EFM 2Mb line connected using a Cisco 1800 router configured on 172.16.0.254 subnet 255.255.255.0, no DHCP is configured on either router. the dhcp is provided by a windows 2003 server on our LAN which is also configured on the same LAN IP range. if i connect the Cisco router into the same switch as the broadband router my network devices stop working and dont respond.

If i check the broadband router it shows all the connections to it as having the same MAC address as the Cisco router?? if i disconnect the Cisco router everything returns back to normal and works perfectly.What I want to achieve is to be able to run both routers on the same LAN to provide internet access by configuring the pc's to route through a specific router. the DHCP I want to stay routed through my original broadband line. at the same time i want all pc's to access to the lan devices (ie. servers and printers) what the correct configuration would be for the two internet routers would be?

I cannot connect to the Internet. I have a d-link router/modem combination DSL-2640B that was working on my old XP pc that died. My new laptop is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine that cannot see my router. Ipconfig returns an auto configuration address of 169.254.46.231 I cannot ping the router. I can't figure out how to get into my router to reset it. I have unplugged everything, flushed DNS, and restarted with no difference. I can't cut and paste because I cannot get to the Internet from my Laptop.
