Routers / Switches :: No Internet On 2nd Router Installed On Home Network?
Mar 23, 2012I have 2 linksys routers installed on my home network. The primary router is a linksys WRT360n and is stationed inside the main home, while the 2nd is a linksys WRT160N located in my office. I've connected them via the lan to lan configuration and have disabled DHCP server on the 2nd. I can access the 2nd router via my primary PC but am unable to access the internet or see the primary from the PC connected to the 2nd router.

May 18, 2011Today I got the Win 7 virus on my laptop and did a system restore under safe mode and downloaded malwarebytes via pen drive from another computer and did the full scan and nothing came up. Computer is now showing nonsigns of the virus but Internet is unable to connect to the wireless. My regular virus protection isn't working well either, it won't let me scan my computer and real-time scanning keeps turning off after I set it on.

Mar 8, 2011How do i connect two internet routers to one IP address range?I currently have one broadband router connected on 172.16.0.3 subnet 255.255.0.0, I have a second line which is a copper ethernet EFM 2Mb line connected using a Cisco 1800 router configured on 172.16.0.254 subnet 255.255.255.0, no DHCP is configured on either router. the dhcp is provided by a windows 2003 server on our LAN which is also configured on the same LAN IP range. if i connect the Cisco router into the same switch as the broadband router my network devices stop working and dont respond.
If i check the broadband router it shows all the connections to it as having the same MAC address as the Cisco router?? if i disconnect the Cisco router everything returns back to normal and works perfectly.What I want to achieve is to be able to run both routers on the same LAN to provide internet access by configuring the pc's to route through a specific router. the DHCP I want to stay routed through my original broadband line. at the same time i want all pc's to access to the lan devices (ie. servers and printers) what the correct configuration would be for the two internet routers would be?

My new laptop is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine that cannot see my router. I can connect to the Internet using my iPad. When I enter http://192.168.1.1, I get an error on EI 9 that says Internet Explorer cannot display the web page. Ipconfig returns an auto configuration address of 169.254.46.231 I cannot ping the router. I can't figure out how to get into my router to reset it. I have unplugged everything, flushed DNS, and restarted with no difference. I can't cut and paste because I cannot get to the Internet from my Laptop.

I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. I plugged my machine back in and received a "no internet connection" message.
