Routers / Switches :: Cannot Connect To Internet From New Windows 7

I cannot connect to the Internet. I have a d-link router/modem combination DSL-2640B that was working on my old XP pc that died. My new laptop is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine that cannot see my router. I can connect to the Internet using my iPad. When I enter http://192.168.1.1, I get an error on EI 9 that says Internet Explorer cannot display the web page. Ipconfig returns an auto configuration address of 169.254.46.231 I cannot ping the router. I can't figure out how to get into my router to reset it. I have unplugged everything, flushed DNS, and restarted with no difference. I can't cut and paste because I cannot get to the Internet from my Laptop.

I have a windows 7 and can connect to my router but my windows xp laptop wont connect to the same router i took it back to the shop and they connected it to there wifi. so what can be the problem.

we're using a network and only one computer can't seem to connect to the printer. it runs on a windows 7. tried reinstalling it but it seems nothing has changed same error messages is coming up each time i tried to setup the printer.

How do i connect two internet routers to one IP address range?I currently have one broadband router connected on 172.16.0.3 subnet 255.255.0.0, I have a second line which is a copper ethernet EFM 2Mb line connected using a Cisco 1800 router configured on 172.16.0.254 subnet 255.255.255.0, no DHCP is configured on either router. the dhcp is provided by a windows 2003 server on our LAN which is also configured on the same LAN IP range. if i connect the Cisco router into the same switch as the broadband router my network devices stop working and dont respond.
If i check the broadband router it shows all the connections to it as having the same MAC address as the Cisco router?? if i disconnect the Cisco router everything returns back to normal and works perfectly.What I want to achieve is to be able to run both routers on the same LAN to provide internet access by configuring the pc's to route through a specific router. the DHCP I want to stay routed through my original broadband line. at the same time i want all pc's to access to the lan devices (ie. servers and printers) what the correct configuration would be for the two internet routers would be?

with a networking issue that I'm having with the 2nd computer I have trying to connect to the interntet via my Westell 7500 DSL router. I have installed 8 cameras that go to my 8 camera DVR. I have a 4 channel router that goes to my Comcast cable modem. I would like to view my cameras from anywhere that I can get on a computer. I have the DVD that came with my DVR and I don't know much about doing this kind of work. What do I have to do to view my cameras from any computer? I'm having trouble connecting my 02 dongle to the internet using my router. My router is a TP-LINK MR3420 and my 02 modem device is E1752. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 USB dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a Ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port

My problem is I can not connect to any ftp server or any database server using my home internet connection. But i can connect to the same servers using my work internet or even using my 3G mobile connection.I tried to contact with my service providers with no luck.I am using a Zyxel wireless router. Is there any settings in my router which stops me to connect those servers.

I have a Netgear N300 Wireless Router (WNR2000), and I am trying to connect the internet through it. every time i go to my log in it ask for a pass word i did not make a pass word i have put in all kinds of pass words and got no where it will not even give me a hint i have went to safe mode it still ask for pass word . i have windows 7 how to rid the problem so that i can get around the administrator and remove it so that i can make another administrator account.

I've set up a DHCP reservation on a Netgear wpn824v3 router, using its "Attached Devices" list to specify the MAC address of a computer on the network to use IP 192.168.5.200. After using "ipconfig /release" then "ipconfig /renew" on the client PC, though, the client PC keeps going back to the address it got automatically, i.e., 192.168.5.3.How can I force the client to use 192.168.5.200?
