I usually use the router supplied by my ISP in one room in the house which is where I use all my.computer stuff as I am the only one who uses the internet in our house. However, my sister is round at the moment and the crap router cannot reach her room or the lounge.I thought I would be able to connect a spare router to a phone line port in the lounge with the correct settings along with the original router. However, if one router works, the other stops working. Only.one router will connect to the ISP at any time, I want both to so that we can all use the internet.

I have a phone line and am using a adsl 2+ router for my pc. Now I wish to install a new Tp-link adsl 2+ wireless router for my lap which is used upstairs. and I wish to connect this wireless router to the same phone line with another splitter.
I've got two houses about 5 miles apart anyway the phone co let me have an off premesis extention at no extra charge two phones that use the same number in the two locations they said i can use my dsl at the other location but i would have to use the same modem/router at both locations iam pretty sure i cant use the dsl at both locations at once but is there a way i can set up two routers on the same phone line where i dont have to carry modem/router back and forth.
I've seen loads of people connecting 2 routers, but they're usually connecting the routers together (as in connecting 1 router to another, which is connected to both the internet and the PC) to boost the performance of the current router, or connect more devices. What seems to be hard to find is what I want to do.
The situation is, I have a Sky Broadband Router (a specialised Sagem router from Sky Broadband ISP) in the back room of my house, and it's wireless range can't reach the front room of my house (where I want to use my wireless laptop). Moving the router is not an option, so I purchased a Belkin 300N Router and plugged it into another phone socket at the front of the house (the phone line was originally just at the front of the house, but was extended to another socket at the back of the house, the one the Sky Router is connected to).
The router is working, but seems to be clashing with the Sky Router, it can't connect unless I turn the Sky Router off, and the Sky router always overrides the Belkin one. I've seen some posts about syncing routers when they're connected, but these aren't, they're just on the same phone line, how to stop them clashing?
I got told if I changed the IP address of the Belkin Router to one similar to the Sky one, and disabled DCHP it would work, but this just messed the Belkin Router up and I had to give it a factory reset!
The SRP547W supports creating both Wifi Voice and Data vlans. Can I configure a Wifi IP Phone to connect to the SRP547W Voice Wifi Vlan and have the SRP associate it with Line 1 (in lieu of a standard phone connected to the Line 1 FXO port - without additional hardware)?
I have a building with 30+ pc's, printers and cameras. I do not have a "server" setup, however I want them to be connected to the T1 line comming into the building for internet as well as file sharing, etc.Currently, I have the T1 line connecting to as Linksys E3000 wireless router. From there I have a cable connected to the wireless router (it has 4 ports also) and then going to a Netgear FS524 (24 Port 10/100 MBPS Fast Ethernet Switch) via port number 24. I then have another CAT5 cable connected to a port on this switch, extending to a D-Link DES-1024D (another 24 Port, 10/100 switch)I then have the 30+ CAT5 cable coming into all three of said devices... No then, I get Internet connection on all units, the problem is that I cannot see all of the devices.
I have a telephone jack in the lving room and another extension line in the bedroom. Can i use my telephone in the bedroom and the other extension line for the dsl to connect it staright to the dsl router without a splitter?
I just got a DSL Modem router (DSL 2750U) which has DSL input for internetconnectivity. My internet service provider provides RJ45 Cable which needs LAN input socket on a router for internet connectivity. How do I connect?
Our church has 1 phone line, we run BTBusiness Broadband at one of the building where we have a couple of charities based. We have the phone line connected to an extension at the other end (where the Church is) >80m away. Any way of running a second concurrent router on the extension so I can set up an office with a VOIP number, pC's printers etc there too? We use Devolo ethernet over mains and wireless for the main building, but the church itself is on a completely seperate mains power supply so I can't use that. I could run 100m Cat 5 and locate a switch on that, but any way of achieving something similar over the phone cable which is already in place.
How do i connect two internet routers to one IP address range?I currently have one broadband router connected on 172.16.0.3 subnet 255.255.0.0, I have a second line which is a copper ethernet EFM 2Mb line connected using a Cisco 1800 router configured on 172.16.0.254 subnet 255.255.255.0, no DHCP is configured on either router. the dhcp is provided by a windows 2003 server on our LAN which is also configured on the same LAN IP range. if i connect the Cisco router into the same switch as the broadband router my network devices stop working and dont respond.
If i check the broadband router it shows all the connections to it as having the same MAC address as the Cisco router?? if i disconnect the Cisco router everything returns back to normal and works perfectly. What I want to achieve is to be able to run both routers on the same LAN to provide internet access by configuring the pc's to route through a specific router. the DHCP I want to stay routed through my original broadband line. at the same time i want all pc's to access to the lan devices (ie. servers and printers) what the correct configuration would be for the two internet routers would be?
I am trying to connect 2 wireless routers to expand my wireless signal. I want to connect the router 1 (in 2d floor) to a powerline av and then get the router 2 to the powerline (in the ground floor) so i can have wireless there too. I've tried some configurations i found online, but can't get to make the network functioning. The routers and powerline av are all dlink. I don't mind having 2 networks, but it would be better to have only one
I have a laptop connected to a net gear wireless router (for internet), but I am very close to buying a Belkin network USB hub to make my hard drive wireless, but this requires a router. I do not want move my hard drive to where my net gear router is, so I need to get another router, i am looking at a Belkin router so that I can make my hard drive wireless (This is the only reason for the router, it will not be used for internet) so I can keep my hard drive in the same place.
I have a Belkin Surf N300 wireless Modem-Router, but cannot get it to connect to my Android phone. I can connect it to my Nexus tablet, to my desk-top and my lap-top, so I know there is nothing wrong with the router itself. Every time I try to connect the phone, it locates the network, scans, authenticates, but then says "Disabled" and the message: "Secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK" with "locked network" symbol. What does this mean? This is on the label that came with the router: "Security Type WPA/WPA2" but I don't know what to do in order to remove the lock. The phone is a Vodafone Smart Chat and I bought it specifically to be able to connect to Wi-Fi networks.
I just bought an ea6500 to replace my old Billion router and up to now all I've had to do is plug my phone line directly into the "phone line in" port on the back of the billion router. But I see there is no "phone line in" port on the ea6500, I don't use a modem and have used the billion router by itself for the past 6 years, is there a way to connect my phone line directly to the ea6500 somehow? My research so far indicates you can't do it via an 'Ethernet / phone line adaptor' as they are incompatable anyway.
The install guide seems to expect a Modem is being used but in my case it hasn't been and I would think a router should perform the basic functions of a modem anyway ?
My concern is that if I really need to purchase a modem then won't this potentially 'throttle' the capabilities of the ea6500 which is the reason I've bought it in the first place ?
If I do need to purchase a modem to get my ea6500 working then what specs should I be looking for ??
I have two buildings. In first building I have network with internet. In other building network without internet. I need to connect buildings to the same network using two WAG320N modems by the phone line cable. Is it possible and what configuration I need to set up?
I am trying to portforward so I can host a server of a game I play, but whenever I try to connect to my default gateway it just times out and cannot load.I have done the cmd -> ipconfig/all and I found that my default is 192.168.0.1What do I do
I recently moved out of state and have been working remotely. I just got a new internet provider who will not let me connect to my office VPN without a small business account which is ridiculous. I've been reading up on how to work around this and haven't been able to figure anything out. I've signed up for a dynDNS account but the truth is I have zero experience with this and don't know what I'm doing - most of the stuff I'm reading is a foreign language to me. I can log into my router and change settings and I can get VPN info from my tech person and work so I just need to know what to do. I can't really work effectively without access to my network but I refuse to pay for a small business account
I'm trying to access 192.168.0.1 to configure my linksys router to add new hardware to my home network but my browser (Safari) can not open the page - error message suggests 'server where this page is located isn't responding.
with a networking issue that I'm having with the 2nd computer I have trying to connect to the interntet via my Westell 7500 DSL router. First , I have installed the router and modem correctly , and i connected it to the switch , So the other devices connected to the internet but not connected to the workgroup so i can't share the files between the PC's ? Modem >>> Router >>> Switch >>> PC's
I have a Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router and had no problems connecting to corporate in the past until several months ago. I can connect just fine if I bypass the router and connect to the modem. I also have no problem if I go to places like Subway. There is no problem with the wireless internet connection, only a problem when I try to connect to corporate through the VPN.
I have 4 computers on LAN using a router and I cannot see eachother, don't know how to configure the PCs. The router is set on DHCP for LAN, the PCs are using Windows 7 and can connect through the internet the router is providing (4 dells) but don't know how to set the computers to see eachother and to share files.
