I have a telephone jack in the lving room and another extension line in the bedroom. Can i use my telephone in the bedroom and the other extension line for the dsl to connect it staright to the dsl router without a splitter?

Also if you look at the black phone line which connects my house you can see that only two wires are being used (blue and white)? View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm playing with an SF300-24P switch and want to connect an IP Phone. I'm more familar with IOS syntax than the SF300 GUI.
How would I replicate the following in the SF300:
Switch(config)#int fa0/1
Switch(config-if)# switchport mode access
Switch(config-if)# switchport access vlan 15
Switch(Config-if)# switchport voice vlan 5
Not sure if setting the port to an ACCESS port on VLAN 15 (i.e. 15UP) and having the Voice VLAN set to 5 is correct.
Or should the port be set to General or Trunk with 15 as the untagged VLAN and 5 as the tagged voice VLAN (i.e. 15UP, 5T)?
I have switche SGE2010P, router 871 and 3 cisco ip phone 7920. If cisco ip phone 7920 connected to switche SGE2010P then link is down. But if cisco ip phone 7920 connected to router 871 then link is up. In the log switche SGE2010P is not event about this.Why are cisco ip phone 7920 not work with switche SGE2010P?

I usually use the router supplied by my ISP in one room in the house which is where I use all my.computer stuff as I am the only one who uses the internet in our house. However, my sister is round at the moment and the crap router cannot reach her room or the lounge.I thought I would be able to connect a spare router to a phone line port in the lounge with the correct settings along with the original router. However, if one router works, the other stops working. Only.one router will connect to the ISP at any time, I want both to so that we can all use the internet.

What seems to be hard to find is what I want to do.
The situation is, I have a Sky Broadband Router (a specialised Sagem router from Sky Broadband ISP) in the back room of my house, and it's wireless range can't reach the front room of my house (where I want to use my wireless laptop). Moving the router is not an option, so I purchased a Belkin 300N Router and plugged it into another phone socket at the front of the house (the phone line was originally just at the front of the house, but was extended to another socket at the back of the house, the one the Sky Router is connected to).
The router is working, but seems to be clashing with the Sky Router, it can't connect unless I turn the Sky Router off, and the Sky router always overrides the Belkin one. I've seen some posts about syncing routers when they're connected, but these aren't, they're just on the same phone line, how to stop them clashing?
I got told if I changed the IP address of the Belkin Router to one similar to the Sky one, and disabled DCHP it would work, but this just messed the Belkin Router up and I had to give it a factory reset!
Can't use internet and phone at the same time on the N150 router. On DSL and whether on the DSL line or using VOIP when using the phone the internet goes down.

I can connect it to my Nexus tablet, to my desk-top and my lap-top, so I know there is nothing wrong with the router itself. Every time I try to connect the phone, it locates the network, scans, authenticates, but then says "Disabled" and the message: "Secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK" with "locked network" symbol. What does this mean? This is on the label that came with the router: "Security Type WPA/WPA2" but I don't know what to do in order to remove the lock. The phone is a Vodafone Smart Chat and I bought it specifically to be able to connect to Wi-Fi networks.

The phone was working fine untill yesterday. 8 x 8 tech support suggested getting a different router. I have the same router at home and tried the same phone on my home router - it worked. So, the problem is not the phone but int he router. I tried to call Cisco tech support but found out that the warranty support expired and I need to buy a support plan. To do this we are using a standard modem/router that is connected to an Engenius (802.11b/g) wireless outdoor radio connected to a dish antenna. We are able to go to locations (3+km) and then with a corresponding receiving antenna (using LoS), receive the Internet and connect both to computers at the transmitting point as well as to the WWW. The problem exists is that we want to employ a series of routers at the receiving end that would be able to carry the transmission to a different location (relatively close), due to the fact that some of the locations do not have line of sight to the antennas. We are using Encore routers, model # ENHWI-N3. When we connect the radio's Ethernet into the routers WAN reciever, we can connect to the Internet with a computer. The problem exists is we want to pass that connection over to a second router (R2). This connection is done when the routers are on access points set to a WDS function with R1 having R2's mac address and vice versa. Both routers are set to channel 1. Even when the routers are seperated by distances >50m a computer plugged into R2 can see a computer plugged into R1. Files can be transferred between the 2 computers wirelessly at speed around 3 mbps. However computer 2 on R2 can not connect to the WWW. This router features a spot that lights up if it has Internet access and R1's is lit up but R2's is not. How do we transfer the Internet and not just a LAN from R1 to R2 so it can be accessed further away from the point of the radio and antenna equipment. This setup has also been used where R2 is hardwired to R3. At R3 we change the channel to 11, and then connect through that with mac addresses wirelessly to 4th router. If comp is in R4 and far away it can still access and file share from comp at R1.*edit the ip address for the routers exist all on 192.168.1.xxx If the 3rd number is different between routers would this make a difference?
