View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Belkin Surf N300 wireless Modem-Router, but cannot get it to connect to my Android phone. I can connect it to my Nexus tablet, to my desk-top and my lap-top, so I know there is nothing wrong with the router itself. Every time I try to connect the phone, it locates the network, scans, authenticates, but then says "Disabled" and the message: "Secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK" with "locked network" symbol. What does this mean? This is on the label that came with the router: "Security Type WPA/WPA2" but I don't know what to do in order to remove the lock. The phone is a Vodafone Smart Chat and I bought it specifically to be able to connect to Wi-Fi networks.

View 12 Replies View RelatedAbout 2 years ago I bought my first laptop and the person I was with recommended my purchasing of a Belkin router. I bought the router, it worked great until this past summer when suddenly whenever somebody called my house phone, my connection was dropped. I was angry cause naturally I have those family members that want to call and talk on the phone with my mother for hours. Eventually I figured out I could work about the problem by hooking the Ethernet cord on my Westel directly to my laptop. Its a temporary fix though in my opinion because this requires me having to sit on the floor against my bed room door and this isn't comfortable, not to mention its also confining, I miss walking around the house with my laptop. Anyway this past weekend I decided to try buying a new Belking N300. This however didn't solve the problem, I still got my signal dropped whenever somebody called the house.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there an easy way to detect NAT devices - specifically home wireless routers like those from NetGear or D-Link or Linksys - on my network? I've shut down the ones that are easy to find by looking at the hostnames on the DHCP server, walking around with my phone and capturing the MAC address of the AP then finding a matching MAC address one number higher or lower. But there are still more out there evading me and I need to shut them down.I've read about a method using SFlow/Netflow, but my old Cisco 3750 and 2950 switches don't support that. I've read about a plugin for a Linux based firewall, but I use a Cisco ASA.

However, my sister is round at the moment and the crap router cannot reach her room or the lounge.I thought I would be able to connect a spare router to a phone line port in the lounge with the correct settings along with the original router. However, if one router works, the other stops working. Only.one router will connect to the ISP at any time, I want both to so that we can all use the internet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen loads of people connecting 2 routers, but they're usually connecting the routers together (as in connecting 1 router to another, which is connected to both the internet and the PC) to boost the performance of the current router, or connect more devices. What seems to be hard to find is what I want to do.
The situation is, I have a Sky Broadband Router (a specialised Sagem router from Sky Broadband ISP) in the back room of my house, and it's wireless range can't reach the front room of my house (where I want to use my wireless laptop). Moving the router is not an option, so I purchased a Belkin 300N Router and plugged it into another phone socket at the front of the house (the phone line was originally just at the front of the house, but was extended to another socket at the back of the house, the one the Sky Router is connected to).
The router is working, but seems to be clashing with the Sky Router, it can't connect unless I turn the Sky Router off, and the Sky router always overrides the Belkin one. I've seen some posts about syncing routers when they're connected, but these aren't, they're just on the same phone line, how to stop them clashing?
I got told if I changed the IP address of the Belkin Router to one similar to the Sky one, and disabled DCHP it would work, but this just messed the Belkin Router up and I had to give it a factory reset!
If your wireless indicator is flashing red when you discover the smurf, it can mean that someone has tried to logon with an incorrect password. this is not necessarily an attack, it could be someone you have allowed access too, who has forgotten the password? In this case entering the correct password will solve the problem. However putting your own MAC address into the filter will simply block your own machine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my house...I have one router upstairs (Belkin F5D8236-4) and great signal upstairs...downstairs signal is not so swift and sometimes, I can't even get a signal. So I thought let me go purchase a router (router # 2) and set it up downstairs and see if that will improve the signal of my Belkin. The 2nd router I purchased is a Belkin N150 (I thought buy 2 Belkins...maybe they can communicate better?). What I need to know is how do I connect the Belkin N150, to my Belkin F5.. and just use it to strengthen my signal to my downstairs part of the house?
