D-link Dir-615 :: Wifi Not Connected Using Xperia Neo Phone
Nov 11, 2011I have a wifi connection in my shared accommodation which I use to connect to my Laptop. Now that I have bought a new smart phone, I want to use this wifi with my phone as well. I have a Sony Xperia Neo mobile phone. When I entered the password in phone it said limited connectivity and was not allowing to open the webpages. So what I did was took all the settings of the Wifi like IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, dns 1 and dns 2, manually entered all these in the advanced setting. Now the phone is saying you are connected to the Wifi, But I am not able to open any webpages.

I bought new smartphone - Sony Xperia U, it is with android 4.Until then I have not any problems.As soon as i activate wifi on phone - all wifi on router is down, i cannot even ping it over wifi.Ping via lan interface is ok.Tried different channels, different max speeds, but nothing works.Only everything works if i have switch router to be only B/G.

Everything on the network works great except when I turn on my cell phone's wifi connection. That disconnects my entire network from the internet and I have to unplug/replug my wired router to get reconnected. If I leave home with my phone and return, leaving the cell's wifi setting on, it reconnects to the network without disrupting the internet connection.

Dec 19, 2012I've got a router in room where my cable modem comes in. In center of house, I have another router, N Ultra Range PLUS, WRT160N.
My laptop, which I use in front room near that middle room router and my husband's desktop, also near that middle room have no problems. My desktop which is right next to the main router in back of house (where the cable modem is), has the weakest signal. I guess that's because the WRT160N is further away from it and has two walls to go through. But most of time signal was good - just not as good as the other two computers. And even when signal was Low, it never dropped connection.
Recently I got a new smart phone with WIFI. Anytime I have turned on the phone and used it, I often then have to refresh my wireless signal or reboot computer because it loses the connection. I read somewhere on internet that this may be because of the additional device but again, it doesn't effect the other two closer computers.

Nov 17, 2012I have a WRT160 V2 router with firmware v2.0.02. I have had the router for years without any problems. A few months ago I have started to see an issue where I lose connection to my internet on my laptop, and wifi on my phone at the same time. I have wifi calling on my phone and it disconnects also at the same time. All of a sudden, everything will stop working, then about 40 seconds later, it all works again. I lost the connection maybe every 30 to 60 mins. I rely on wifi calling for my primary phone, and I end up getting cut off when talking to people. BTW wifi calling is for all tmobile phones, but also normal wifi to surf the web on my laptop and phone drops too at the same time.

What happens is that all our computers lose the internet connection from one moment to the next while the signal strength remains unchanged. when you try to sign back into the home network it is basically impossible. Feb 23, 2011My Compaq laptop (Vista) was working just fine last night, connected to my home wireless network all right and all. Today morning my laptop couldn't detect my home wireless network at all, but it could still detect a bunch of other networks from the neighbours. My iPhone can detect my network with no problems, my desktop computer is wired up to the router, works fine too. It's a D-Link DIR-655. This has happened before but usually gets solved when I reboot (switching off and on) my router. I've tried that, tried restarting my computer too, no use. Haven't tried anything beyond that because I'm an idiot with computers.

When I unscrewed a few wallplates, only the orange, white orange, blue, white blue are connected. The greens and browns are snipped off. I don't much care if I have a telephone or not (my cell phone is my only phone), I'm thinking of pulling all the cat5e off the module and attaching RJ45 plugs on them. Seeing that only the wires I mentioned above are connected at the wallplates, do I need to terminate all the wires on the RJ45 plug or only those four?I'm not planning on going up to a 1gb connection right now because I only have 20mb service anyways. May 18, 2011I have an Asus 1001 PG netbook. I am having problems with my home wifi network. When I turn on my laptop, I do not receive the signal for our home wifi network. However, I know that the network is working because other laptops at home are able to detect it. I don't think there is anything wrong with the laptop because I can still detect other wifi networks in our neighborhood. The problem only seems to be with our home wifi network. If I restart the computer, the problem is usually solved. This is not an efficient solution for me as I am used to turning my laptop off on hibernate and I don't like having to reopen all my documents.
