Losing Wifi Connection At Home On All Computers?
Feb 19, 2011we have been having problems with our wireless internet connection for a while now and have even changed provider without success.
What happens is that all our computers lose the internet connection from one moment to the next while the signal strength remains unchanged. when you try to sign back into the home network it is basically impossible. When rebooting the BT router it works, sometimes for a few moments only sometimes it lasts.I am wondering if the reason is that the computers are losing their ip address or has it something to do with the security key?

Nov 13, 2012I've been watching my PC-s HDD for months and I saw that something takes up way to much space, yesterday I checked and Windows said that I have 160 GB Free / 883 GB But when I selected all files in my E: even hidden files and checked their properties / size, it said its only 440 GB. So I was missing another 283 somewhere in this partition. I used the windows cleanup tool and it gave me back some of the space, but it wasnt 283 GB. I checked and checked, then I found a program called WinDirStat which shows you how much space you have and stuff, then I found this: [URL]Then I found out that WinDirStat cannot access the System volume informations and this unknown is that. Then I googled stuff up again and found this:

1. To see the space allocated and used for SVI:
- Open Command Prompt with �Run as Administrator� option
- Type in: vssadmin list shadowstorage
- You will see Used Space, Allocated Space and Maximum Space for SVI
2. To see the restore information stored therein:
- Use in the same console command: vssadmin list shadows
3. To resize the maximum allocated space:
- Type in command: vssadmin resize shadowstorage /on=[here add the drive letter]: /For=[here add the drive letter]: /Maxsize=[here add the maximum size]
- E.g., vssadmin resize shadowstorage /on=C: /For=C: /Maxsize=4GB
- You will see a prompt confirming resize done
- You can check the status again using the command discussed in point 1 above
4. Just to get rid of the space already consumed, but sticking to the same size of max-size as before:
- Do actions as per point 3 to set the max-size t, say, 1GB
- If you check now, most likely you�ll see that used space is now 0KB
- Do the resize again and set it back to what it was before
- Check your disk space availability in Windows Explorer, you should see the reclaim is done!I did what this guide said and it deleted the system volume information from my E: drive and I had my 440 GB back. BUT!At this part I HAD internet connection. I shutdown the PC, went to eat and do stuff, then I came back and got a blue screen right after the win7 logo (before the log in screen)I couldnt read what it said, because the PC restarted itself (even tho it is set NOT to restart so I can read the errors...wierd!)Then it started repairing itself, restarted, asked for a chkdsk, fixed millions of errors then restarted and I logged in just fine.But in the bottom right corner I seen a big ugly red X over my network connections, so naturally I went out my room, restarted modem and router then came back. I only see dial up connections, hamachi and tunngle.Then I tried to resintall the driver. Deleted driver, restart PC, win automatically installed the nvidia driver for me, but still no internet. Then out of couriosity I started my Virtual PC (win xp) to check if it has internet connection or not. And it has! Apr 27, 2013We have been having a very abnormal speed issue. This one has me stumped. I am fed up and thinking maybe its an Att issue that will NEVER be resolved.Brother comes and bothers me Zach internet is slow thinking hes just being picky I tell him to reboot his computer. He says its still slow. I run a speed test from my desktop computer I get a 5.36Mbps download and .63 up. I go to his windows xp professional laptop and run a speed test he pulls .63mbps down and .32 up. This is a Dell Latitude D610 with built in wifi. My desktop just so happens to be a wired connectionI grab my laptop which happens to be the exact same model and experience the same result. So I power cycle to modem, then the Linksys ea2700 router. The speeds go back to 5.37m down and normal speed up. Then after 20 minutes its back to a CRAWL.
OK the router MUST be dead. I will kill two birds with one stone. I plug in my Modem/Router combo 2wire 2700. Speed does the same thing starts off fast then slow to a crawl. Figuring it's a laptop issue I use a Linksys wireless USB adapter AE-2500. I get the same result fast then slow. NOW the crazy thing is that its only on my wireless connections. The wireless computers use wireless G and say 54mbps so why would the internet be slow only on the wireless connection.So maybe it's an interference issue So I start up the generator and plug my modem router and laptop into it. I then shut off THE ENTIRE POWER service to my house! I get the same result fast then slow. My neighbors are far apart and I have switched wireless channels and even used the 5ghz frequency with the same results.An ATT Tech says the line is fine. They came to the house and tested everything. The only thing that has happened recently was a storm which left flooding in some parts of town. Only one time was I able to test my WIRED computer and get a download speed of .04Mbps down and .32 up
