Routers / Switches :: How To Connect Surveillance Cameras To Internet Through DVR

I have installed 8 cameras that go to my 8 camera DVR. I have a 4 channel router that goes to my Comcast cable modem. I would like to view my cameras from anywhere that I can get on a computer. I have the DVD that came with my DVR and I don't know much about doing this kind of work. What do I have to do to view my cameras from any computer? My DVR is HS8308 8 channel Pentaplex H.264 DVR w/500GB HDD & DVD-RW What do I have to do to make this happen?

I have a qsee dvr that is hooked up to a switch that is connected to a wirless router/modemI have forwarded the correct ports that I need to according to qsee, ports 80, 9000 and 100I can access the dvr from any computer on the network via its local ip address, but when I try to access it via a computer off of the network via the real world ip address of the network, I cannot access it. I can ping the real world ip address of the network and it is successful.

can't forward port 80 and 9000 from my Qsee Dvr on my linksys router. Model Bfsr41 firmware ver 1.05.03. I want to be able to access my security cameras remotely.

I would like to hook up 2 ip cameras to a server. I need to use 2 routers to do this. I already have the routers. router a is hooked up to the server. router b needs to connect wirelessly to router a. I can then hook up the ip cameras to router b. I just can seem to get it figured out.

How do i connect two internet routers to one IP address range?I currently have one broadband router connected on 172.16.0.3 subnet 255.255.0.0, I have a second line which is a copper ethernet EFM 2Mb line connected using a Cisco 1800 router configured on 172.16.0.254 subnet 255.255.255.0, no DHCP is configured on either router. the dhcp is provided by a windows 2003 server on our LAN which is also configured on the same LAN IP range. if i connect the Cisco router into the same switch as the broadband router my network devices stop working and dont respond.
If i check the broadband router it shows all the connections to it as having the same MAC address as the Cisco router?? if i disconnect the Cisco router everything returns back to normal and works perfectly.What I want to achieve is to be able to run both routers on the same LAN to provide internet access by configuring the pc's to route through a specific router. the DHCP I want to stay routed through my original broadband line. at the same time i want all pc's to access to the lan devices (ie. servers and printers) what the correct configuration would be for the two internet routers would be?

with a networking issue that I'm having with the 2nd computer I have trying to connect to the interntet via my Westell 7500 DSL router. I cannot connect to the Internet. I have a d-link router/modem combination DSL-2640B that was working on my old XP pc that died. My new laptop is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine that cannot see my router. I can connect to the Internet using my iPad. When I enter http://192.168.1.1, I get an error on EI 9 that says Internet Explorer cannot display the web page. Ipconfig returns an auto configuration address of 169.254.46.231 I cannot ping the router. I can't figure out how to get into my router to reset it. I have unplugged everything, flushed DNS, and restarted with no difference. I can't cut and paste because I cannot get to the Internet from my Laptop.

i am trying to hook up a laptop to internet that is over ten years old. when i try to set up a wireless network it say there's no dial tone. also when i start it up it says "Network Wireless Update, Router is unavailable". i was going to try an Ethernet cord but there is no Ethernet port on the laptop. what do i do?

I'm having trouble connecting my 02 dongle to the internet using my router. My router is a TP-LINK MR3420 and my 02 modem device is E1752. I checked to see if the modem is compatible and it says it is. I went through the configuration that was given to me with the router and I tried using you tube but nothing. Do i need to get a static I.P address off my Internet provider? If I plug my 02 USB dongle directly into my computer it works perfectly and I got the router to work using a Ethernet cable and plugging it into the WAN port at the back of the router but I would prefer to let it connect through the 3g port

My problem is I can not connect to any ftp server or any database server using my home internet connection. But i can connect to the same servers using my work internet or even using my 3G mobile connection.I tried to contact with my service providers with no luck.I am using a Zyxel wireless router. Is there any settings in my router which stops me to connect those servers.

I have a Netgear N300 Wireless Router (WNR2000), and I am trying to connect the internet through it. The internet light stays amber, and though the router recognizes it, I can not connect to the internet. My computer also doesn't seem to recognize the router at all. I have 2 ssid signals setup at my workplace.
the 2nd one is for all guests and it's isolated from the lan+trusted(1st one) with a vlan feature.
the 1st one is for all trusted devices over wifi. the wifi channel is setup to allow mac addresses of the two asante security cameras. the cameras upload videos to an ftp on my server. the two will connect to the router at first, I can ping them or see them in 'my network'. give it a little time and they disappear. then I have to power off/on the router or the cameras to make them work for a few minutes. the process repeats.
the cameras make lots of connections to the ftp server. I'm suspecting they're flooding the router and it blocks them. occasionaly they will come back for a minute or two and disappear again as if blocked/unblocked.
I added their mac addresses in hopes of making them 'trusted' devices. I've tried them on both ssids. I checked and unchecked firewall/security checks and icsa settings. all other devices I tried, multiple phones and laptops work without problems on both ssids and they don't get blocked.

I need to keep surveillance on two separate remote locations, each on a different continent. They're both indoor locations and have broadband. One of these setups should be fully bidirectional so I can see them and they can see me, while the other location is unidirectional so I can see them but they can't see or hear me. In both of these farflung locations the people there have the computer skills of your average escargot, so it's going to be a complete and utter miracle if they can even figure out how to boot the PC. I would like to provide netbooks to each location and have them automatically launch a fullscreen webcam on bootup. How to get this set up properly so that it works in a foolproof manner.

I am running winsxp prodessional.I have a belkin N600 DB Wireless N+ Router and it is hooked up to a vmax 480 security syestem . this system allows me to see the cameras remotely on my ipad, i iphone amd laptop .
my problem is this the router shuts down and restarts( it must be programmed to do this ) and i lose the remote connection to the cameras. if i am home i can unplug the vmax and it will restart and find the router etc however when i am traveling i can not do this.

I have a business class SMC D3G-BIZ cable modem. Directly connected to it I have surveillance camera. I need getting the correct IP settings so I can access it remotely. I previously was able to do this but the cable modem was recently replaced.The camera software needs a IP Address, subnet mask, and default gateay nformation. I do not currently have a static IP Address.In the camera IP address should I put in the public IP Address of the cable modem or should I create a static IP Address that is on the LAN. such as 10.*.*.*?How can I determine the subnet mask? Do I go to Gateway > Network within the cablem modem menu?The default gateway should be same as the default gateway for the LAN settings in Gateway > Network, right?

I am trying to be able to access my IP cameras over the internet and am having trouble. I have been trying to follow the manufacturers directions but the Modem I have, is different than what they discuss. I have a Netgear Model 7550. When I choose to port forward, there is no place to put the IP address.I can see the cameras when I'm on my network, but once I get off that network, i cannot access them any longer.
