View 1 RepliesI cannot connect my Kindle Fire to my Wi-fi router. It works when I'm out and about ie it connects to the internet but never when at home. I have also tried connecting via a static IP but that also fails. When attempting to connect my Kindle Fire if I have another device already connected eg my LT or DT they also become disconnected
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy DIR-655 has worked well for 3 months; both Ethernet and wireless. Yesterday I accidentally deleted this WiFi router from my Kindle Fire list of WiFi connections. Now, when I try to re-establish Kindle wireless logon, the router will not accept the previously used password. As a non-techno-geek, I tried to find this in the DIR-655 manual. But it is written in Greek and not oriented to the wireless user. [code]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just acquired a Kindle Fire for my wife. Joined my Dir-655 network just fine. I have never done a firmware update (using 1.10) and have lived by the "if it ain't broke. " axiom. Dell laptops, Mac laptops and desktops, Wii, X-box, LG Cinema TV, Roku, iPad, multiple iPhones and iPods all connect and work fine (with the occasional (once a month) reboot of the router necessary). Using cable modem (bridge mode), no historic issues. Suddenly when the Kindle Fire is utilizing the network at the same time as one or two other devices, the network crashes, and a power down reboot is necessary. A Google search reveals a fair number of complaints about this across router brands.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get my parents Kindle Fire to work. They recently purchased a Motorola Modem/Router which is hooked into the desktop and works fine. I want to get their new kindle to work and can not seem to figure it out. Their operating system is Vista which I can upgrade to Windows 7 if that would make it easier. When I click on setup the WiFi part of the installation wizard cd that came with the Motorola it says there is not a network adapter. I know what that is however I do not know why I would need it when the desktop is hooked directly into modem/router and I just need the WiFi for Kindle.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Kindle whitepaper that uses Wi Fi. Other than going to a free wi fi location to download Amazon books, I decided to buy a router. Everything seems to be ok at the router end I believe. But when I use the wireless feature on Kindle, type in the password I assigned to the router, it always, I mean always, no matter how many times I set up, reinstall the router, and try to log into Kindle storefront using my kindle, Kindle always returns the message "Incorrect Password". Now I don't have a problem with the router. I'll keep it for future wi fi usage. I have done an installation with no password and can then go to Kindle storefront on the Kindle but that is rather insane to not have a password while I am reading books on Kindle. Why the password I assign to the router isn't working with Kindle after I reset the router (using a paper clip method) and reconfiguring with the new username and password like 5 times already? The username appears ok on the Kindle wireless, just the password doesn't work. I'd like the issue resolved before I buy more wireless products. Great router.

We are a public library and offer an open wireless cloud to our patrons. We are currently having trouble with people connecting to our wireless with the Kindle Touch version 4. Users of the Kindle Fire and older models have no problems with connecting, just this one specific model. We are using Cisco Aironet 1230 Access Points connecting back via LWAPP to a WLC 4402 running code version 7.0.220.0. The clients are receiving their DHCP options from a Windows 2003 server. Besides the standard options we are also pushing the WPAD 252 option.

Also, the free trial of Network Magic is over and it can no longer be purchased. Do I really need something like that?
I have WRT54G2 that I've set up my wireless network on. My Kindle, just the basic one, sees and recognizes the network. It has good signal from it. When I attempt to sign in though the Kindle says my password is invalid or it says it just can not connect. I have gone over and checked what I hope are all the settings but to no avail.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have tried to connect my Kindle to my E3000 without success. The Kindle shows that the router is there but after entering my password in the Kindle it will not connect. I tried going into Cisco Connect and enable "Guest" user. Again the Kindle shows that the router is there showing "Guest User" and after entering the password for the guest user it still will not connect. The Kindle does connect to the internet through a router that is shown - I have no idea whose router it is - but at least it proves that the Kindel will connect to the internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy group has recently started configuring traps on our switches to alert us of issues as they arise vs. waiting for the Helpdesk to receive user complaints and then responding. We have successfully configured the 2950 and 2960 switches to alert us when a port-security violation happens. However, the 3750 switches refuse to fire the port-security violation traps. The 3750's will fire an errdisable trap when the port goes down though.
Here is one of the port configurations:
interface FastEthernet1/0/45
switchport access vlan 5
switchport mode access
switchport port-security
switchport port-security mac-address sticky
[code].....
And here is the output of the port-security debug:
2522070: Oct 21 16:37:04: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface FastEthernet1/0/45, changed state to down
2522089: Oct 21 16:37:05: %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: psecure-violation error detected on Fa1/0/45, putting Fa1/0/45 in err-disable state
2522100: Oct 21 16:37:05: %PORT_SECURITY-2-PSECURE_VIOLATION: Security violation occurred, caused by MAC address 0012.3f07.95d3 on port FastEthernet1/0/45.
All of the 3750's are running C3750-IPBASEK9-M, Version 12.2(53) SE2. Wireshark also shows the errdisable traps, but no other traps so I've ruled out the traps being missed. All of the switches have been reloaded and power cycled.
I've heard that you can set up your kindles and other things with the modem so that you don't always have to log in with your name and password.Someone said something about a mac number and I went to wireless setup in my modem and mac authentication > enable > allow device list > manually entered the device number. However, I still have to log in with my name and password
