View 7 Replies View RelatedI have tried to connect my Kindle to my E3000 without success. The Kindle shows that the router is there but after entering my password in the Kindle it will not connect. I tried going into Cisco Connect and enable "Guest" user. Again the Kindle shows that the router is there showing "Guest User" and after entering the password for the guest user it still will not connect. The Kindle does connect to the internet through a router that is shown - I have no idea whose router it is - but at least it proves that the Kindel will connect to the internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have kindle fire that is unable to connect to the wireless network. All otehr devices windows phone, xbox and laptop are able to connect seamlessly.Amazon also sent me a replacement, but the issue is still the same. The error is:
"Unable to connect to the selected access point, Please check the password you provided."
Also, I removed the security on the network to see if its able to connect without password. The state where it fails is Obtaining IP address and it fails again.

I just bought and installed this wireless router, specifically so that I could use me kindle..but, keep getting rejected due to a password error...the password is correct. On Amazon it looks like there may be a setting that needs adjustment in order to accept the Kindle..
I have 3 Kindles (2 Kindles with keyboards and 1 kindle touch) that have wifi and they were working fine until our 2Wire router died and we got a new Westell DSL Wireless Gateway from ATT (model: B90-755025-15). All of our other wireless devices are working fine (Ipods, laptop, Ipad) with the new wireless router, but the Kindles will now not connect to our wifi network. I type in the same network key that I did for the other devices but it doesn't work. Amazon said all sofware was up to date on the kindles and it is a problem with the settings on the router because they were working before we got the router. AT&T won't work for me because they say the other devices are working so it must be a problem with the Kindles. Is there a setting I can change on the router or does the Westell router just not work with the Kindles?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Kindle whitepaper that uses Wi Fi. Other than going to a free wi fi location to download Amazon books, I decided to buy a router. Everything seems to be ok at the router end I believe. But when I use the wireless feature on Kindle, type in the password I assigned to the router, it always, I mean always, no matter how many times I set up, reinstall the router, and try to log into Kindle storefront using my kindle, Kindle always returns the message "Incorrect Password". Now I don't have a problem with the router. I'll keep it for future wi fi usage. I have done an installation with no password and can then go to Kindle storefront on the Kindle but that is rather insane to not have a password while I am reading books on Kindle. Why the password I assign to the router isn't working with Kindle after I reset the router (using a paper clip method) and reconfiguring with the new username and password like 5 times already? The username appears ok on the Kindle wireless, just the password doesn't work. I'd like the issue resolved before I buy more wireless products. Great router.

My mom wants to buy my dad a Kindle Fire for Christmas. Currently they have a desktop computer with a modem plugged into it and use Verizon dsl for their internet. The Kindle needs wi-fi and I don't want to disrupt the way their computer is set up now.Do I simply plug the router into the modem to get the wi-fi signal?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have WRT54G2 that I've set up my wireless network on. My Kindle, just the basic one, sees and recognizes the network. It has good signal from it. When I attempt to sign in though the Kindle says my password is invalid or it says it just can not connect. I have gone over and checked what I hope are all the settings but to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get my parents Kindle Fire to work. They recently purchased a Motorola Modem/Router which is hooked into the desktop and works fine. I want to get their new kindle to work and can not seem to figure it out. Their operating system is Vista which I can upgrade to Windows 7 if that would make it easier. When I click on setup the WiFi part of the installation wizard cd that came with the Motorola it says there is not a network adapter. I know what that is however I do not know why I would need it when the desktop is hooked directly into modem/router and I just need the WiFi for Kindle.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've heard that you can set up your kindles and other things with the modem so that you don't always have to log in with your name and password.Someone said something about a mac number and I went to wireless setup in my modem and mac authentication > enable > allow device list > manually entered the device number. However, I still have to log in with my name and password
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to install an HP Photosmart 7515 eAll-in-One Printer. Works OK in the USB "tethered" mode, as a one-computer printer only. It will not install as a wi-fi device, probable reason being the settings on my (wireless) router, according to the printer's Wireless Network Test Results sheet. I suspect that the firmware on it (3.0.02) is obsolete. What is the latest firmware version for the WRT160N ?
