View 2 RepliesI have a BEFSR41v3 and am trying to enable UPnP on the router. However, after I activate UPnP in my browser and the webpage reloads (after the common status screen that says you have to wait 5 seconds and you will be redirected). I am prompted for a password. But for some reason, it will not accept any password that I enter. In order to even get to the settings to UPnP in the first place, you must enter the correct password to access the settings. So I believe I am using the correct password, so why is it not accepting the correct password? I have had to reset my router to factory default settings (by pressing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds) multiple times because of this. But each time after enabling UPnP it will not accept the default password of admin nor will it accept any password that I assign it afterwards. I have noticed however that the "Filter Internal NAT Redirection" which should be set to enabled by default has been set to disabled even after I have reset the router. I have activated UPnP on the router before without trouble but have had to reset the router to factory default settings afterwards because of other reasons.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have WRT54G2 that I've set up my wireless network on. My Kindle, just the basic one, sees and recognizes the network. It has good signal from it. When I attempt to sign in though the Kindle says my password is invalid or it says it just can not connect. I have gone over and checked what I hope are all the settings but to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried to connect my Kindle to my E3000 without success. The Kindle shows that the router is there but after entering my password in the Kindle it will not connect. I tried going into Cisco Connect and enable "Guest" user. Again the Kindle shows that the router is there showing "Guest User" and after entering the password for the guest user it still will not connect. The Kindle does connect to the internet through a router that is shown - I have no idea whose router it is - but at least it proves that the Kindel will connect to the internet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Kindle whitepaper that uses Wi Fi. Other than going to a free wi fi location to download Amazon books, I decided to buy a router. Everything seems to be ok at the router end I believe. But when I use the wireless feature on Kindle, type in the password I assigned to the router, it always, I mean always, no matter how many times I set up, reinstall the router, and try to log into Kindle storefront using my kindle, Kindle always returns the message "Incorrect Password". Now I don't have a problem with the router. I'll keep it for future wi fi usage. I have done an installation with no password and can then go to Kindle storefront on the Kindle but that is rather insane to not have a password while I am reading books on Kindle. Why the password I assign to the router isn't working with Kindle after I reset the router (using a paper clip method) and reconfiguring with the new username and password like 5 times already? The username appears ok on the Kindle wireless, just the password doesn't work. I'd like the issue resolved before I buy more wireless products. Great router.
Product: DIR-615
Hardware version: H/W Ver.: I1
Firmware version: F/W Ver.: 9.02NA.
I used to be able to connect to my internet with other computors but now it keeps saying we have the wrong password.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought this router (DIR-655) some time earlier this year, so it hasn't even been half a year that I've owned the thing. I set it up in the small duplex I was sharing with my sister and it worked quite well. Actually... for the first 45 minutes I was freaking out because I was getting practically no signal, then I realized I had forgotten to screw in the antennas... but that little anecdote aside, it worked fine.
I've since moved into a new place. I got a new modem, still on Videotron, I just upped the speed from 7 MB/sec to 15 MB/sec. Before setting up the router I inserted the CD that came with it and followed the instructions therein... things seemed fine, except that he automatically used the same network name that I used at my last place... almost like he was stuck on it. I couldn't figure out how to create a fresh new network. But I shrugged it off and continued, entering my own password and everything else.
Now, at the end he gave me 4 pieces of information,
A router password. A network name (SSID), this is the one who's name was stuck to the old one. A network security type, I went for Most secure(WPA) And the network security key, this was a randomly generated alphanumeric code of some sort.
I copied this in two different ways and the installation wizard automatically saved me a copy onto the desktop, so I know for certain I got the passwords right. I pulled out my iPad later, saw the network, a good strong signal, and tried to connect except it's not accepting my password. The password I triple-saved and checked without a shadow of a doubt. On a whim I tried to use the Security Key, and that seemed to connect for some reason, but it is considerably slower than it was at my last place.
The modem isn't to blame (it's running on double the speed now) and the signal strength is good. It's just that something gone weird with the password, and it feels very slow. Even if it wasn't slow, I would really like to know why none of my wifi devices are accepting the password I assigned.
And I used that http://192.168.0.1/ trick to look into the router settings from my computer. I changed the network password into something new. And still none of the devices will connect, they keep telling me it's the wrong password. I am only able to connect through the Security Key and I don't like that! I tried to contact D-Link's technical support the other day, but it drew on for so long my cellphone actually ran out of minutes.
Short Version: None of my wifi devices are accepting the password I gave during the setup and I don't know why!
I'm running a 64-bit Windows 7 on 1-year old dual-core desktop computer.
I got a D-Link router not too long ago and I set it up in an odd way, the router password I gave it during the setup would not be accepted but the Network Security Key (the randomly generated alphaneumeric code) was accepted. I used it to connect all of my wifi devices.
The router password (which doesn't work), the "network name (SSID)", the network security type, and the network security key were all saved on my desktop. My computer has since suffered a critical crash and had to have it's hard drive erased. I still remember the password, the network name, and the security type. But the NSK (the thing I need to connect in place of a password) has been lost. It was this long random string of letters and numbers that I couldn't remember for the life of me.
I also remembered my Admin password, so I am able to log into http://192.168.0.1, but in here I only know how to change the regular password. I don't know how to access or change the NSK. change the security setting so that I can use the actual password instead of the NSK? Because of the crash I lost my iTunes libraries so I'm going to have to reset all my iOS devices, which are primarily what I use wifi on. If I reset them, they'll forget the wifi network and the assosiated NSK password, so I won't be able to use wifi at all.
Trying to ssh from our QNAP to our switches and copy the running-config.These tests are on an SG-300. When ready well be doing the same thing on all of our 2960's. So maybe the SG300 is the problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 3 Kindles (2 Kindles with keyboards and 1 kindle touch) that have wifi and they were working fine until our 2Wire router died and we got a new Westell DSL Wireless Gateway from ATT (model: B90-755025-15). All of our other wireless devices are working fine (Ipods, laptop, Ipad) with the new wireless router, but the Kindles will now not connect to our wifi network. I type in the same network key that I did for the other devices but it doesn't work. Amazon said all sofware was up to date on the kindles and it is a problem with the settings on the router because they were working before we got the router. AT&T won't work for me because they say the other devices are working so it must be a problem with the Kindles. Is there a setting I can change on the router or does the Westell router just not work with the Kindles?

I want to get their new kindle to work and can not seem to figure it out. Their operating system is Vista which I can upgrade to Windows 7 if that would make it easier. When I click on setup the WiFi part of the installation wizard cd that came with the Motorola it says there is not a network adapter. I know what that is however I do not know why I would need it when the desktop is hooked directly into modem/router and I just need the WiFi for Kindle.
