I have 3 Kindles (2 Kindles with keyboards and 1 kindle touch) that have wifi and they were working fine until our 2Wire router died and we got a new Westell DSL Wireless Gateway from ATT (model: B90-755025-15). All of our other wireless devices are working fine (Ipods, laptop, Ipad) with the new wireless router, but the Kindles will now not connect to our wifi network. I type in the same network key that I did for the other devices but it doesn't work. Amazon said all sofware was up to date on the kindles and it is a problem with the settings on the router because they were working before we got the router. AT&T won't work for me because they say the other devices are working so it must be a problem with the Kindles. Is there a setting I can change on the router or does the Westell router just not work with the Kindles?
I originally bought the 615 router because my Net Talk telephone required it. The first Wi-Fi device I used is my Kindle Touch. I have been able to use the Wi-Fi several times since I received the Kindle, but there have now been two failures to connect. The first time I just unplugged the router power and connections, restarted the modem, and rebooted my computer. The Wi-Fi then worked. Now I am experiencing a failure to connect again.
I have noticed that when I restart my computer I have to connect to the internet directly by pulling the cable from the router and putting it from the modem to the computer. This seems to teach the router what it is supposed to do, because when I reconnect the modem to the router the internet starts to work immediately.I have tried changing the password to wireless internet, but my Kindle still will no longer connect. The router is about two years old. [code]No go to the devices and check to see if you see the new SSID name you gave in the router. I should be listed there. Select it and it should ask you for a password, enter the password you gave in the router. The only problem is that my modem does not exactly say "mixed G and N".
My mom wants to buy my dad a Kindle Fire for Christmas. Currently they have a desktop computer with a modem plugged into it and use Verizon dsl for their internet. The Kindle needs wi-fi and I don't want to disrupt the way their computer is set up now.Do I simply plug the router into the modem to get the wi-fi signal?
I am trying to get my parents Kindle Fire to work. They recently purchased a Motorola Modem/Router which is hooked into the desktop and works fine. I want to get their new kindle to work and can not seem to figure it out. Their operating system is Vista which I can upgrade to Windows 7 if that would make it easier. When I click on setup the WiFi part of the installation wizard cd that came with the Motorola it says there is not a network adapter. I know what that is however I do not know why I would need it when the desktop is hooked directly into modem/router and I just need the WiFi for Kindle.
Wireless Router - DI-514,Modem - Westell 6100, Every time I refresh the 'View available Network settings' My Connection name pops up with other connections but then disappears after I refresh again and others as well disappear, but some stay. Right now I'm using the the wire the blue wire that connects me to the internet.
I've tried restarting my Kindle. I've tried resetting my router. I've reset my Kindle. I can use it to connect to open wi-fi networks. My computer (win7) and phone (htc desire) can connect to the wi-fi network. MAC filtering is disabled. Router is a Buffalo WCR-GN
I bought a kindle and couldn't get it to connect to wifi. I have a BT homehub 2 and am running xp on my pc. I have now come to the conclusion it was my pc - if I buy a netgear adaptor.
My first Rooter provides Broadband via a cable connection. Is it possible too add a second rooter too the first one and set the second one for WI-FI or is their a better way too get my Kindle WI-FI connected.
I expect to receive a new Kindle Touch w/WiFi next week.I presently have my RR modem plugged to the DIR-655 and one Ethernet cable from the router to the PC and another (a 40' Cat6 Ethernet cable) going from the DIR-655 to a bus and then to an Internet-ready HDTV. I'm able to watch NetFlix streaming movies.I'm wanting to know step-by-step for each setting for my DIR-655 so that I can download books via WiFi to my Kindle Touch from Amazon's library.I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64x Media Center Player?
I can't get my Kindle Touch to connect to my Belkin router, I haven't had any problems until the last couple of days. I can connect my Kindle to the router at my work.
I've been having some trouble with my ATT router. I've had it for months and there have never been any issues until now. It does not seem that it is broadcasting WiFi like usual. It will not show up on the WiFi network list on both my iPod and my laptop. I've tried resetting the router (by unplugging it and plugging it back in).
No WiFi access from working router.I was trying to set up my AppleTv and by accident unplugged my router...I have unplugged my router & modem several times and they all show the light that the network is on..But I cannot access the WiFi network from my Ipad or Mac?what else can I do???
The other day, I decided to set up a wifi router. Once I'd set it up, I connected my other devices to it, (laptop, iPad, iPod, etc.) but when I tried to connect my PS3 to it, the connection just timed out when it was testing the connection. I've tried it a few times - I thought maybe I'd typed in my WPA key wrong, to no avail.
im deployment and we have hardwire internet in my room. wanting to use all other devices eg. iphone and what not i bought a router to plug the hardwire in to and run the wifi off the router for all devices. its made by TP-LINK the model is TL-WR940N. it worked great for a while but then kept giving me DNS server is not responding but i could plug the hard cable in my computer and the internet would work fine? so i reset the router and set it all up again like before. Now i cant get it to run wifi off it anymore it recognizes and connect through wifi but no internet and its telling me i need to plud the hardwire in to my internet but my computer is recognizing it and saying i have internet access, but no internet i mean its not even thinking if there is internet.
I have a kindle which was successfully connected to my router at Christmas 2010 unfortunatley some thing went wrong ?? have tried using the long serial number which i assume is the password on router . Kindle is telling me the number invalid try again. I have Sky broadband . The Kindle remembers the SSID; number . i have network key number as well but not sure what im suppose to do.
I bought a Kindle whitepaper that uses Wi Fi. Other than going to a free wi fi location to download Amazon books, I decided to buy a router. Everything seems to be ok at the router end I believe. But when I use the wireless feature on Kindle, type in the password I assigned to the router, it always, I mean always, no matter how many times I set up, reinstall the router, and try to log into Kindle storefront using my kindle, Kindle always returns the message "Incorrect Password". Now I don't have a problem with the router. I'll keep it for future wi fi usage. I have done an installation with no password and can then go to Kindle storefront on the Kindle but that is rather insane to not have a password while I am reading books on Kindle. Why the password I assign to the router isn't working with Kindle after I reset the router (using a paper clip method) and reconfiguring with the new username and password like 5 times already? The username appears ok on the Kindle wireless, just the password doesn't work. I'd like the issue resolved before I buy more wireless products. Great router.
My Belkin Wifi router which was working fine earlier has stopped working now. It shows a red/orange light and nothing else ( it normally shows a green light ). The light doesn't blink or flash. As a consequence, my wifi devices aren't connecting to the internet, however i can connect via my pc normally through my modem. I have a iball Baton modem and the model number of my wifi router is F7D1301 V1.
Kindle fire won't connect to my router WRT320N- I have the correct password- signal strength is excellent- I have set up other devices without problems- prompt reads "connection error unable to connect to access point. Please check the password you have provided."
I have the WRT120N. It seems to work for the computer and for Netflix through the BluRay, but I cannot connect my Kindle, my son's Kindle or either my ormy husband's phones anymore. They used to work.
Also, the free trial of Network Magic is over and it can no longer be purchased. Do I really need something like that?
I have WRT54G2 that I've set up my wireless network on. My Kindle, just the basic one, sees and recognizes the network. It has good signal from it. When I attempt to sign in though the Kindle says my password is invalid or it says it just can not connect. I have gone over and checked what I hope are all the settings but to no avail.
I have Beetel 450TC1 Wifi router (3 yrs old) and configured with BSNL broadband. The DSL light goes in stable state whenever I took the phone in dialing mode. And internet working well at that time. When I put my phone down, again goes off!
A few days ago my internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged in the ethernet cord and everything worked fine. Checking the properties in the device manager showed the device was working properly, I also tried resetting it to make sure it was enabled but it did not work.
Upon troubleshooting, the "Windows Network Diagnostic" said the problems was that the Wireless adapter was not turned on. Using the switch on the front of the laptop as well as the function keys does nothing. Usually a graphic pops up showing if the WiFi is on or off, changinging transparent to show the WiFi is disabled. Now when I turn the switch on it always appears transparent, effectively going from off to off
So I know the computer reads both the function keys and the switch on the front but both methods never actually turns the adapter on. I just finished a system restore and nothing has changed
E1550 not connecting to any Google related sites via Kindle Fire web application (Silk) in Kindle Fire. Other wireless devices working fine from E1550 and all apps in Fire connecting fine.
