AT&T MiFi Connection To Linksys Router?
Feb 2, 2012I need to figure out how to connect my home router to my AT&T MiFi. I have 3 DVD players and one computer hard wired to the router. The MiFi works great with my laptop and IPad that has wireless capability but how can I get it to connect to non-wireless devices connect to my router?

May 13, 2012Background information, have had the 4150L for probably about a year and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. I just updated the firmware this morning and it still seems to be working great. This is the first upgrade I have ever done to it. Anyway, what I am trying to accomplish, I have discovered that I can remotely connect to my office computer through my iPad using itap RDP and a VPN connection. I have already been able to use itap RDP in the office to show patients their x-rays etc... on the iPad. I have a cisco RVO82 router and my office software suggests the use of a PPTP VPN to connect remotely. I have checked all the settings and I have everything set as described. The iPad shows a VPN connection icon but when I try to connect to my computer, I get a TCP error. From what I have read, some people are able to connect via VPN on the 4150L and others are not.

Aug 31, 2011Just moved into apartment in Ann Arbor and am forced to use this ISP. They are not wireless friendly. Their manual sucks and will only provide tech support for $80/hour. I bought a Belkin router and got it working for my MacBook. BUT my roommate can't connect, even tho her MacBook sees the network. And I can't print to my wireless printer even tho it says everything is fine when I run the wireless diagnostics.The ISP has these rules:
- Only connect the router to the Internet or Wan port. Do not connect to the numbered ports (how do I know whether or not I've done that?)
- Do not use static IP addresses
- Do not run a DHCP server

Mar 16, 2011I had so much old garbage and damage from old viruses I needed to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows xp from the System OS disk. Computer is up and running now, but I lost a lot of stuff, including my ability to connect to the internet and some drivers. I have cable internet. I downloaded Broadcom advanced control suite and the netxtreme 57xx drivers from the Broadcom site, and installed them with the provided download manager. Nothing seems to be working, the control suite says "No active broadcom network adapters detected in this system"....
note- I've been downloading to a different computer and burning the files to CD, and transferring them to the Dell that way...

Oct 13, 2012As of around a week ago, I've been experiencing a strange thing with my internet connection. I live in apartments that provide internet to everyone that lives there, and had been living here for a few months before this started happening.I now constantly have my internet crashing in the middle of browsing/gaming. I will either open up my laptop to the internet not working already, or it will work, but crash randomly while I am using it.
Trying to load a page on google chrome, it will show a message saying DNS Lookup Failed, and an icon will pop up in the right corner of my screen with a yellow (!) triangle. If I hover over it, it will say no internet access.I've followed the few steps they had on there, but none of them worked. I've never had a problem like this before, and haven't made any modifications to anything on my computer lately, so I am pretty confused as to why this is happening. I know it is something on my end, because my roommate's internet is just fine, and even used my ethernet cord on her computer, and no problems at all.

Jun 8, 2011I built my first computer today (woot!) but I'm having issues using my netgear N300 usb adapter to access the internet.
I am using a DLink router but for some reason I am getting some weird issues.
First of all, after using the netgear usb adapter, my mac address is something like E0-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx with the xx being the other numbers. Is having a macaddress starting with E0 wrong? All the other 5 devices on my router have mac addresses starting with 00.
Secondly, I am getting a 169.xxxxxx ip address. This is really starting to bother me because I can't set it up using DHCP.

Feb 7, 2012I live in an area that has no cable or dsl internet available.The only options are basic dial up or wireless internet through one of the cell phone companies.Right now I use verizon with a usb adapter.I have had this since moving here.It gets good speed and I share it witht the other 4 pcs in my house through a 5 port switch using windows xp's ics(internet connection sharing)We mainly use the internet for playing games together online.Recently though i have wanted to upgrade to a wireless network.I feel as if I 'm living in the stone age because everyone else I know is using wireless.Last night I went out and purchased a netgear n750 duel band router(model number wndr4000-100nas) after reading several guides online about how to set it up.It sounded easy enough but after 3 hours I still could not get it working.
Here is what I am trying to do.I want to basically turn the router into a switch by disabling it's routing function and let the pc that has the verizon wireless card be the host and hand out ip addresses to the other pcs.(like it is doing now)Problems I am having
1- keep getting the work offline popup when I click on anything in the router control panal(it say you are not connected to the internet would you like to connect or continue to work offline I hit work offline and it just pops up again when I click something else)
2- I think I found how to change the router's ip address and disable DHCP under lan controls but when I hit save it pops up saying I need to manually change my pc's ip address and it will not save.
I am using winxp32 sp3 and right now 5 gigabit wire lan cards.(though if I get this working I'm going to pick up wireless card for 4 of the pcs.)

Mar 12, 2011I have spent two days on the phone with virgin mobile broadband where I bought the device and they do not know what I am talking about.First of all the mifi is working fine on the one and only computer I have set up so for..it is Vista operating system..I am trying to set up my vista computer as an FTP server on the mifi or wifi or whatever you call it.when I disable the DHCP service on this virgin mobile mifi device so that I can generate my own internal ip for this particular computer..It is not functioning that is I cannot connect to the internet..I tried to get from Virginmobile the DNS server address but they were confused...When I log into the device itself under advanced options it does allow for me to disable DHCP..but my problem is what IP do I use when setting up the wireless connections, I disengaged the automatic, but I am having a heck of a time trying to use the right IP then the gateway address and the DNS.

I successfully changed my graphics card (i think...) i can run all the games that i couldnt run before but.. I am having trouble connecting to the internet after changing the card. it seems like my computer isnt recognizing the inernet network. i know the network is fine because im writing this w/ my itouch which is connected to the network wifi. When i right click the red X icon w/ two computers and click "connect to a network" , it says "windows cannot find any networks" and i have no network options to choose from. Is it because i uninstalled drivers related to the network connection..?

I've tried connecting to three wireless networks and each time the wireless card manages to connect to the router, but is unable to connect to the internet. When I connect using the ethernet I have no problem and I'm able to connect to the wireless using other devices. I've downloaded the latest BIOS and windows drivers. I've ensured the security is configured correctly, the wireless is on, the password is correct.

Aug 1, 2011Earlier today I attempted to change the setting on my Westell 6100 modem such that it would simply bridge the connection to my Linksys WRT54GS router, basically involving setting the router to bridge only and turning DHCP off. Now I no longer get an internet connection through my router when previously the connection had worked perfectly fine before. I following the steps of cloning the MAC address to the router and have done the proper resetting steps (computer, them router, then modem) but I simply can't get an internet connection through my router. The process to set up simple bridging from the modem what supposed to end up with the internet light no longer turning on but the light turned back on following one of the resets.
Currently, I can connect to the internet through the modem just fine but I get nothing when I include the router. I'm not sure if there are some other settings I'm supposed to be changing as I can't seem to find anything past what I've already done when researching online. At this point I would just be happy reverting the settings I've changed but I don't know how to access the modem now that DHCP is off.Basically, I'd prefer to be able to get the router working with these new settings but if that proves too difficult (as I've heard it can be when trying to get Westell modems to work with Linksys routers) I'd like to learn how to access the modem and change the settings back to what they were (preferably in as simple terms as possible as I don't particularly understand what a lot of these settings/configurations do).(And a bit of an aside, but I had attempted to do this modem bridging to "fix" perceived internet speed problems. I've been averaging around 300Kbps download rates ever since I've had this internet connection from Verizon when the supposed download rates should be between 1MB and 1.3MB. Doing this modem bridging had been reported to fix some modem/router conflicts and improved connection speeds for some.)

Recently had system crash--reinstalled through recovery discs and all current Windows Update (SP3), as well as the WPC54G The WPC54G worked with various WiFi Networks and the MiFi2200 Device before crash. After "recovery", it recognize WiFi Networks, however; it does not recognize my network established through the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 Device. (Note: the MiFi Device is working because other computer/devices are gaining access to internet.

As a result, we can only have one computer connected to the internet at a time via this wired connection. The problem is, I live with my partner and we both need internet access for our separate computers. We both need to be online at the same time. What is the easiest and most simple way to accomplish this? I don't know much about hubs, routers, and switches. I imagine there should be some sort of basic splitting device I could plug into wall which would allow 2 computers to use the ethernet port.

Until a couple of weeks ago it would be fine for roughly the first 20 minutes then the connection would just completely drop out and the only way to get it back again is to go into the network and sharing centre, disable the network card and then reenable it. Most of the time this works, but again for only the first 20-30 minutes, then I have to do it again. Occasionally it works for for longer but that's a rare occasion.Now not only does it do this, but also, if I put my laptop into sleep, sometimes when I turn it back on again the card will not connect to the network and I have to do the same disable and enable process.[ODE]

Mar 18, 2013find the IP address of the dLAN Wireless Extender so I can go into advanced settings to set up the name, password etc. The Extender config tool provided cannot find it.I replaced my cheap WiFi extender which used to drop the connection all the time with a Devolo dLAN 200 AV Wireless-N Starter Kit, which was highly praised all over the place.How I set it up. The manual clearly states both the single Etherner port plug and the 3-ethernet plug should be slotted directly into the mains sockets which I have done. The smaller, single ethernet plug connects to my Router with the ethernet cable provided. The bigger plug is plugged into a different socket without any other cables attached. The power, house(dLAN), ethernet lights are green on both as well as the Wifi light is green on the extender.I used the dLAN cockpit program to add the Extender by entering the security code on the back, now both of them show up in the Cockpit interface and say "ON". I have the option to change the password for the entire network via the Cockpit, which I did. I assumed that's all the plug & play I had to do to make it work. Wrong. I cannot connect wirelessly at all. The network shows in the available list as devolo-000.......... with full signal, I click it, enter the password, it says authenticating and then drops.
The whole purpose for this is to have an extended Wifi Network around the house where the router cannot reach. But I cannot connect. Now i was reading on Davolo site where it says " You can set up or change the configuration of the dLAN® 200 AV Wireless N via the web interface. To access this interface, simply enter the known IP address of the product into any web browser (e.g.Internet Explorer) or call up the web interface via the dLAN® Cockpit."I also checked that apparently, the newer version, the dLAN 500 has a "config" button in the Cockpit application which takes you directly to the web interface to set up your wifi, but the 200 does not. I do not know what the IP address of the Extender is, I do not know how to reach the interface via my browser. I did have a feeling it had to be done because firstly I wanted to change the name of the Wifi network but couldn't figure out where.
I would also like to add that a program included in the set-up disc, called dLAN Wireless Extender Configuration doesn't seem to find it, so I cannot enter to look at any settings. It pops up with "the dLAN wireless extender was not found. is the dLan wireless extender switched on and properly connected to this computer's local network?"
Windows 7 And N Wireless Card Drops Network Connection?
Dec 27, 2011I got my wife a new laptop in October, and it runs on windows 7, since the 25th of december she has been having connectivity issues with her wireless card. She had 2 bars on her signal strength, and I wanted to take the signal strenght out of the equation, so I got a N range booster to put in the room she is usually in, she now has a signal strength of 5 bars. However she still loses connection to the internet.
ISP is Bell Fibe 25 Router is the bell modem/router in one. My son's Laptop goes in that room, and has no issues. I have made sure the drivers are up to date on both the router/modem, and on the laptop itself. The only thing I cna think of is that it is the card itself that is faulty.
