I need to figure out how to connect my home router to my AT&T MiFi. I have 3 DVD players and one computer hard wired to the router. The MiFi works great with my laptop and IPad that has wireless capability but how can I get it to connect to non-wireless devices connect to my router?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBackground information, have had the 4150L for probably about a year and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. I just updated the firmware this morning and it still seems to be working great. This is the first upgrade I have ever done to it. Anyway, what I am trying to accomplish, I have discovered that I can remotely connect to my office computer through my iPad using itap RDP and a VPN connection. I have already been able to use itap RDP in the office to show patients their x-rays etc... on the iPad. I have a cisco RVO82 router and my office software suggests the use of a PPTP VPN to connect remotely. I have checked all the settings and I have everything set as described. The iPad shows a VPN connection icon but when I try to connect to my computer, I get a TCP error. From what I have read, some people are able to connect via VPN on the 4150L and others are not.

Recently had system crash--reinstalled through recovery discs and all current Windows Update (SP3), as well as the WPC54G The WPC54G worked with various WiFi Networks and the MiFi2200 Device before crash. After "recovery", it recognize WiFi Networks, however; it does not recognize my network established through the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 Device. (Note: the MiFi Device is working because other computer/devices are gaining access to internet.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have spent two days on the phone with virgin mobile broadband where I bought the device and they do not know what I am talking about.First of all the mifi is working fine on the one and only computer I have set up so for..it is Vista operating system..I am trying to set up my vista computer as an FTP server on the mifi or wifi or whatever you call it.when I disable the DHCP service on this virgin mobile mifi device so that I can generate my own internal ip for this particular computer..It is not functioning that is I cannot connect to the internet..I tried to get from Virginmobile the DNS server address but they were confused...When I log into the device itself under advanced options it does allow for me to disable DHCP..but my problem is what IP do I use when setting up the wireless connections, I disengaged the automatic, but I am having a heck of a time trying to use the right IP then the gateway address and the DNS.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMIFI 2200 works with the USB connected to the computer but, won't transmit to another computer.It is a desktop. So I put in a wireless card. It will identify that the network is there but, will not access it. Is there a difference between what a desktop wireless card will access and what a laptop or mobile device will talk with.There seems to be because the MIFI will connect to a Droid and a laptop but, not to the desktop I want it to.Is there a different card or some kind of USB thingy that I can use to make the two devices talk.

MIFI is a verizon cellular product to connect up to 5 computers.It will work when plugged in directly but, not when it has to use the wireless card.The computer I want to connect has a wireless card and will recognize the network but, won't connect. It is a desktop, not a laptop or mobile device.Turns out that you can buy a WiFi adapter in a USB plug and play device for a newegg price of 7.99 dollars to a high price of about 150 bucks.Is there any card that I can put inside the computer so I can make this permanent?
I've got the Verizon Jetpack MiFi and cannot figure out how to create a bridge with a D-Link DAP-1513 to get internet. Eventually this setup will be connected to a DVR but for now I'm trying to use it on my laptop to make sure it's going to work. I don't have networking experience and have been trying to figure this out for almost 2 weeks now.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOften my router drops connection to all my devices. Multiple times a day. It's only for a minute or so, but it's annoying. I'm using a Linksys Wireless-N router (WRT160N) with WEP encryption. I'm running two Windows 7 laptops, LG BluRay player, Apple TV, Xbox 360 (Wired) iPhone 4, and a iPad 2. It doesn't matter if I'm browsing the web, watching Netflix, or playing a game, the connection gets lost. As we speak it happened again. I have no clue on what to do. I've reconfigured it multiple times. Firmware has been updated months ago.

New network is: Same as above, with a Linksys 1 port router (BFSR11) between the cable modem and the hub.
Router is configured to be a DHCP server (default configuration).
I assigned the router a custom WAN side MAC to match one of my two PCs to avoid having to call AT&T to get things running.
Results: Everything runs perfectly fine initially, but after leaving and coming back to either system (left on, in standby) after quite a while (going to work / bed), the network connection is dead.
WINIPCFG still reports the same IP, but seems to hang forever if I attempt to release / renew. The router's is unreachable for configuration / status (it's still on the default IP of 192.168.1.1) Pressing the reset button on the back of the router restores the internet connection (quickly too - I'm back online in about 15 seconds).
Entering standby manually and coming back out again after just a couple minutes does not affect the internet connection - it seems to only occur when I'm off for an extended period of time. I have no had the time to determine what the period of time is, and if it is a fixed time since DHCP lease / initial startup, or if it is a fixed amount of inactivity time (or maybe even not a fixed amount of time at all).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am not that good at troubleshooting network issue but luckily I was able to figure out a problem I had with internet connection not working through my Linksys router. My computer is connected hardwire through a wireless router (linksys) and I have 3 wireless devices that connect to the wireless router.I have had the wireless router for about a year and half. I set it up myself and have had no problems since day one until today.It was working fine this morning, my computer was on the whole time, I never shut it down and all of a sudden a couple hours later went back to my computer and couldn't access the internet. "No internet access" message on the taskbar right hand side.Not one of my wireless devices connect to the internet including my desktop that is hardwired.
I tried resetting the modem...no luck. I'm thinking outage or something else that had to do with my cable company. I called them, the lady had me try without the router, worked fine, problem with router.I called linksys since I am not good at troubleshooting router issues and did not want to reconfigure everything and start from scratch.The lady at linksys says the router is out of warranty and after a year they cannot provide free tech support and wanted to charge me for either two of their paid tech support which the cheapest was 30 bucks. After some time of trying to figure out the problem I notice my ip address was different.
I have a WRT54G2 v1 (no new firmware available) with a cable-modem connection (Motorola Surfboard), every thing works perfect but when my ISP goes down and then back up I cannot get the router work, LAN or Wifi connection. I have ping response to the router and I'm also able to get into the admin page. The only way to recover is restarting the router and sometimes releasing DHCP and then Renewing it, and the Wan connection actually gets the same IP it had before.

When some one at home using internet I can commetc to the router using remote management. But when everybody out and no internet users at home I cannot connect to the router. I checked with other router from linksys (old one WAG45G or something like this) and it was the same. But it works great whith TP-Link routers.

View 5 Replies View RelatedLast week I bought the E4200 thinking it was probably the best router on the market and if it worked properly, it would be...I think.I have attached a Seagate GoFlex Desk 2Tb USB drive formatted to NTFS to the USB of the E4200. I can map to it from my Windows XP computer with no problem and I can FTP to it from any browser...my Windows 7 machine is another story. When I try to map the network drive from the Windows 7 machine I get error code 0x80070035 every time. I've seen some other threads where people are having this problem but in the cases I've found, they aren't getting any connection via XP or FTP either.

Yesterday, I came back, turned on the router. WiFi was working good, cable connection too. But there was no connection to HD. I had checked information about HD on admin page, router understood that it is HD, but not provided share access to folder, also, there was no button, to setup it.I disconnected HD, tried to connect it using the Cisco Connect, it provided mistake with USB connection to HD and than with HTTP connection to router. I disconnected HD, tried to connect it manually: connect HD -> go to admin page -> refresh to show HD -> admin page freeze... -> reboot of router manually.
There was a lot of tries to connect HD, but all was failed.I connect HD to computer, it works successfully.I checked connection to router through USB, using my card reader and SD flash card, it works successfully.Information about HW:
1. Linksys E3200, last update of firmware for German (was bought using German Amazon) country. (Cannot check it now, if needed will check)
2. Computer: Windows XP SP3

View 9 Replies View RelatedSituation: I have one Internet connection and I have need of two networks. One filtered with OpenDNS and the other unfiltered. I have a Speedstream DSL router provided by ISP for connecting to Internet. I have two WRT54G's and would like to utilize them to form two networks. The Speedstream is a router with a gateway address of 192.168.1.254.
From that Speedstream (only one network plug) I would like to go to a 5port switch. From that switch, I would like to configure the two WRT's to be two different networks (one using OpenDNS settings for filtering) with one having a 192.168.1.x address scheme and the other (no Internet filtering) having a 192.168.10.x scheme. Both would have DHCP enabled for their networks and the Speedstream would have DHCP disabled. There is not a need (at this point) to have the networks communicate.
Ive had a WRT54G v5 for awhile now. And just recently I went out of town and had turn off my router. When coming back and turning everything back on for some reason both wired and wireless components both have a connection then it loses the connection for awhile and comes back on. Ive power cycled both the router and modem. Called my provider and they said it was my router after doing some diagnostic tests. I tried to update the firmware and ive tried to restore to factory settings. Still it has a connection then it loses it.. Ive noticed on the modem when its not working that only the SENT light is flashing. (modem has power,received,sent, cable,pc). It is on AUTO DHCP and gets a ip and everything.
