Mar 23, 2012I am using an ACE 30 module for loadbalancing to two proxy servers. Not all the traffic needs to be loadbalanced and directed to the proxy servers. I would like the clients trying to access our intranet and other internal resources to be redirected to them before they are loadbalanced and sent to the proxy servers . Can this be done with the ACE?

Sep 8, 2011We have a pair of ACE 4710 devices in front of a TMG 2010 array (3 members) and are having some issues. We have a nat pool on the ACE and need to be able to use integrated authentication in TMG since we are filtering URLs based on user ID. For example some users might have access to certain websites that other users do not have access to. TMG does all this fine when we send traffic directly to one of the TMG servers and it can successfully authenticate the user using the active directory username that was passed through. The problem occurs when we send traffic through the ACE first, upon which time the user credentials are no longer appearing to TMG and the user is getting prompted for a username/password whenever they try to access a website. Even when they do enter their username and password (which they shouldn't have to do) the request is still denied by TMG since it is coming from "anonymous" instead of their actual username.
Another problem we seem to be having which isn't as important right now is the fact that since we are using a nat pool on the ACE, every web request to the TMG servers comes from one of the NAT addresses, rather than the original client IP. Is there any way to get around this and have the actual client IP show up instead?

Mar 17, 2012I want to use the ACE blade in CAT6500 to loadbalancing SYSLOG events towards (SIEM) collectors. Servers and network devices will sent there syslog messages to different collectors after being loadbalanced by ACE. I was just wondering, since a lot of clients are going to sent there complete syslog events to the VIP and thus introducing a high connection rate. (+/- 200.000 CPS) According to the specs, the ACE blade has a limitation of 325.000 connection per second. I suppose this is a limitation at device level. (not on a per context basis, and does that include both TCP and UDP packets?) Could the UDP BOOST feature might come in handy allowing very high rate UDP syslog packet loadbalancing?

However if i disconnect either of the DSL cables connectivity fails. I was expecting connectivity to continue to work just over the one circuit. [code]

Jun 15, 2011I think I have my PPP multilink setup correctly. Though I am getting AL lights on one of my connections via a VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card. One AL light is on at each location. Though I checked with my ISP and they said it was my network cables as everything looked good on their end. Currently one T1 circuit is connected at each end so users do not see a disruption. This is a new install with two routers and the config is shown below.

Cisco WAN :: 2821 / Netflow Not Working On Multilink Interface
Feb 18, 2013I have a Cisco 2821 with two serial interfaces bundled using PPP multilink. I want to monitor traffic flow (net flow) on the multilink interface. I have tried configuring ip route-cache flow/ ip flow ingress / egress but no luck.The other thing is when I do sh ip cache flow I guess I should see the multilink interface in both Source and destination columns which is not happening (not showing in destination column).The other router with same config but with ATM sub-interface working properly (same IOS). Are there any hits on this ? Also, is it possible to use SPAN feature ? The monitoring server is at some other site (coming via WAN).

Apr 3, 2003Customer site connected to a PE using 2 x E1 circuits aggregated using Multilink PPP. The CE is a 1760, and the PE is a 7206. This is the customer HQ site.
Connected to the same PE are three other sites from the same customer. Each is connected with a single E1, again each CE is a 1760.
During some testing the customer did some large file transfers concurrently from each of the three remote sites into the HQ, so we had data coming into the PE via the three E1's (6Mbps) and then being routed onto the 4 Mbps Multilink PPP interface into the HQ, which is a potential bottleneck. This test failed miserably with packets being dropped on the output interface on the PE facing the HQ.
But then if Multilink PPP encap is removed, and we just connect the HQ using one E1 with HDLC encapsulation, the test works, even though we have half the bandwidth to the HQ, so an even greater potential bottleneck.

Cisco WAN :: 3845 - How To Create Multilink Interface And Assign IP
Oct 16, 2011I have a question regarding mlppp and bonding mpls T1 circuits. For the longest time we have been able to get by on one T1 circuit coming into our 3845 router. Well this T1 has now become congested and they are wanting to add bandwidth to this T1. We connect to the phone company via an MPLS T1 currently. So now it appears as though we are going to purchase another MPLS T1 circuit and bond the two T1's together. The way our network is currently set up, we utilize the same AS number on all of our remote routers regardless of location. Keep in mind I don't have any sort of mlppp set up at this moment, so unfortunately I can't post any configs. I'm just questioning the design portion and how to go about doing this.
Here is where my dilemma begins........
For every MPLS circuit we order on the remote end, we specifiy an IP for the remote router itself and one for the provider to assign to their equipment (the bgp neighbor statements). Now granted i'm no BGP extraordinaire, not even a novice really, but I don't understand how I am going to bring two T1 circuits into the same router (basically with 2 pairs of IP's). In order to bond the two T1's together, i'll need to create a multilink interface and assign an IP to that, but yet I still have 2 SETS of ip addresses. And if that isn't enough of a dilemma, I also need to spedify a neighbor statement in order for my AS to bind to the adjacent provider AS, but yet I have two IP addresses for that as well.
Cisco WAN :: 2821 - Lost Traffic When Multilink Drops T1
Feb 14, 2012MPLS customer with 4 T1s in a multilink. If one of the T1s drops there is a brief delay in traffic picking back up and I actually lose packets from premise back to CO. You can see this loss both with pinging across the circuit and with techs on either end running JPerf. It can take as long as 6 seconds for the reconvergence to actually happen on the multilink and traffic picks back up. In my experience this is normal behavior for Mulitlinks
I'd also like to note that it is indeed much quicker reconvergence when you physically pull the T1, any of the T1s, rather than administratively shutting down one of them and I understand that the hardware is quicker than software and that's a good thing, obviously. I've tried this with and without ppp mulitlink fragment disabled on either end and every other combo between the two. Each of the 4 serial interfaces are on line timing and I tried free-running just on the off chance that it could imrpove the loss, but it gets worse.....back to line timing. I've even tried this on other CPE platforms like two different versions of Adtran CPEs and I get the same thing. Currently I have a new 2821 CPE in place and still get the same thing. Still see a brief amount of traffic loss up to 6-7 seconds or so at times.

May 8, 2012I have configured multicast (ip pim dense-mode) on two 2911 routers that are connected by a Multilink (3Mbps) Wan connection.The configuration work fine for awhile and sometimes all day but at some point one of the Multilink interfaces stop passing multicast traffic.I perform a sh multilink 1 on the interfaces and one interfaces show the multicast packets incrementing and the other does not, it just stops.The only fix for this is to hard reboot both routers and the multicast traffic begins to flow once again.

Jan 5, 2011We have 4 data T1s providing our office with 6Mbs of internet bandwidth.I have been trying to track down the reason(s) for the steadily increasing frame and abort errors on the Multilink interface of our new router.We have a new 2961 with 2 2 port T1 interface cards (VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1).
At first it looked like the T1s were completely clean, but after diving down a bit the last of the 4 T1s does appear to have a decent amount of slip and error seconds.Is that something that would cause the Multilink interface to show input, frame, and abort errors?Any config or debug commands I should start with to narrow down what might be causing this problem?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: PPP Multilink Not Coming Up On Serial Interface / 3620 Router?
Nov 1, 2011I just finished setting up a bundle of (2) T1's in a multilink bundle and I'm having issues with one of the T1's not wanting to join the bundle.
The router I'm using on the remote office location is a 3620 router running code c3620-i-mz.121-1c.bin
The campus router which is a 7206 is setup the same exact way with multilink 240 and like I've said, serial 0/0 is joined to the bundle just fine, so we are running off one T1 connection.
The serial interface that is not working is: serial 0/1

Mar 6, 2012I'm in an issue w/ on of our ISPs. We're using an ADSL line as a secondary light load line ( 16 MBit, /w PBR in place to separate the 80 and 443 from the business-critical applications running via a SDSL link. ).
I am on a 2611 XM with IOS 12.2, mated to a D-Link 321B modem running in transparent mode. After running smoothly for weeks, for a few days now, every night some time between 2 AM and 4 AM the link would die with the dialer showing:
Virtual-Access1 is up, line protocol is down Hardware is Virtual Access interface [code]....
To my knowledge, the only option to bring it up again is to reload the box . Taking into account that the router is our DHCP server and the date gets reset to 1994, interesting effects are the outcome of resetting the box.
Well, the ISP have checked their gear and keep saying that these report a "port error" ( quite unspecific ) and blame me that I have a wrong. config in place - which is here:

Two week ago I bought the TD-W8970 ADSL router model. Im using a canon pixma IP4700 printer connected to the router USB print server port and everything is working without any issues if I just look to the router functionalities.
However since that Ive installed TP-LINK USB Printer Controller, my both computers (desktop with windows 7 and laptop with windows 8) are getting very often some BSOD.
I was editing all files automatically generated by windows on this cases and if seems that the cause of this issue is the file TplinkUDSMBus.sys (installed by USB Printer Controller).
To check the impact of this, Ive uninstalled the TP-LINK USB Printer Controller software from my laptop and I dont have any BSOD since 5 days ago. In the desktop Im still have the same issue.
The router print server is a nice functionality and I really want to use it.

I just upgraded my DLink DIR655 to WDR4300. My VOIP service has worked for the last 5 years. But with WDR4300, I'm frequently experiencing dropped calls. The call will be cut off every 20 seconds or so. This is really a deal-killer.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Motorola SB6141 Link Speed LED On Cable Modem Never Glows Blue
Feb 26, 2013when I connect my DIR-655 to the Motorola SB6141 cable modem I notice that the link speed LED on the cable modem never glows blue indicating a gigabit connection, it only glows amber indicating a lower negotiated speed. I am using a Cat6 cable between the two devices and have also tried a Cat5e cable.
When I try and force the WAN port speed to 1000Mpbs in the router interface the cable modem link speed will not light at all with no connectivity. Only resetting to Auto WAN port speed restores functionality albeit at the lower negotiated speed setting.
I'm running the DIR-655 rev B1 at 2.03NA firmware level.
I did connect the modem directly to my PC that uses an Intel Gigabit ethernet card and still had the lower connection indication (Amber) so it seems that the modem might be faulty.

When i connect to router by laptop the internet works fine, but when i connect to router by phone i have an internet access only 5 second and than i lost it, but still connected. I have a BSNL BB connection. When I use the connection directly, without adding TP Link router, all the websites open flawlessly. Once when I connect the wireless router, certain websites for example Yahoomail, pepperfry.com, yepme.com don't open at all. These are just examples, but I'm unable to access many sites which is a bit annoying. But sites such as gmail, youtube, facebook open clean, there are no issues. I didn't make any configuration changes too. I tried it more than three or four times, but there is a restricted access only.
D-Link DIR-655 :: Port Link Light For Powered-off Device Stayed On
Nov 20, 2011 I have a DIR-655 Rev B, in a typical cascaded config: modem > dir-555 > switches & devices, etc.One of the four dir-655 ports is connected to a cheap-o Belink Wifi router which I use as an access point (I only use this because there's one device that only supports WEP). I was debugging a WiFi issue and I pulled the plug on this Belkin just to get it out of the picture. Well, when I did that, EVERYTHING that was connected through the DIR-655 lost connection. (Well, all the wired stuff anyway- not sure about WiFi devices through the DIR-655). I noticed that the port link light for the powered-off device stayed on on the DIR-655. When I unplugged the cable from the DIR-655, everything went back to normal.
So what I'm trying to figure out now is, is this a DIR-655 issue, or is it something screwy with the Belkin? Or Both? I've got to assume that there's some inherent flaw in the DIR-655 that allows something connected to a port to screw up everything that it's hosting.

Jan 9, 2013I have a DIR-655 that I have been using for a while (b1 revision). and suddenly I noticed my wifi speed fluctuates constantly. My lenovo Y580 sees speed drop to 130 immediately and then it can slowly progress to 1 Mbps until the hardware is all rebooted. Same happens to my Nexus 7, Dell XPS M1530 and to my roku. I have updated to 2.07 (since 2.10 is advised to avoid). And I have attempted changing channels or factory refresh.What Firmware version is currently loaded? 2.07What region are you located?
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL? Cable (link speed independent of internet speed)What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router? Separate Motorola ((link speed independent of modem)What ISP Modem make and model do you have? Does not matter, router issue.If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged. Not bridged
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic. Independent of issue, not a factor
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing. Wired works perfect.Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Cat6 is recommended. Wireless issue.
