View 1 Replies View RelatedI had my PPTP VPN working great at my old place, now that I moved I also upgraded my speed which means I got a different 2Wire. This 2Wire can only do DMZ mode and can't bridge. ( I tried everything, including the mdc page, no go). This works fine apart from blocking GRE somehow. I'm using a Mikrotik RB450G as my PPTP server. Does L2TP or IPSEC use the GRE protocol?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 2003 server running a L2TP VPN server on it. I'm putting theASA5505 in replacement of an open source firewall.
My question is that, I can't seem to forward the ports correctly for L2TP to the internal address of the 2k3 VPN server. It seems to me that the ASA is trying to negotiate the VPN connection rather than forward it internally.

I've added the NAT and ACL and still nothing.
How is it possible to configure 2 VLANs to communicate with each other on the same switch? Is the subject line status correct? I have a gigabitethernet port (3845) that went from admin down, to reset and then status Down, protocol Down. Then I had another gigabitethernt port on a different 3845 router. To show port in status of UP and protocol Down, I didn't see a reset occur on this port. Which status is correct and does the reset step affect the final status being different?

I need to reconfigure the router such that at least one of the Fast ethernet ports can server the purpose of the GE0/1. GE0/0 connects to our Service provider and GE0/1 connected to the inside network.Currently, while connected to one of the ethernet ports, i can telnet into the router on the address 192.168.29.1. when i'm on the router, i can ping our remote site, network address 192.168.24.0 with no problem, but when i use the command "Ping 192.168.24.0 source 192.168.29.1" there is no response.

All routed (no spanning-tree at all).Now...I have to add an IBM BladeCenter with a BNT layer 3 switch to my topology. I have configured VPN part and is working correctly. I have a computer in the private network at static address 192.168.1.100 and an application is running on it on 8100 tcp port for clients.
Now I need to connect from the Internet to the application on 192.168.1.100 on port 8100.
How to configure CISCO router to forward traffic coming in tcp port 8100 to machine 192.168.1.100?? ISP Modem is going to handover all the traffic to CISCO device.

I have made a virtual link between backbone,area 1 and 2 ABR router 1 and area 2,3 ABR router 4.I use process id 123 for every area. But when I type "show ip route" in router 0, it is shown [code] when it is typed in router 6, it is shown [code] So, router 6 cannot communicate with router 0.I don't wanna make a static route to 1.0.0.0 network in router 6.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy basement doesn't get a good wireless signal. It doesn't affect my computer since it's hardwired via a couple of Asoka PlugLinks. However, I've always had bad signal reception from my main router which is two floors above. Because of this, I was rarely able to connect my Wii to the internet and am now unable to connect my Wii U to it either.Recently I purchased a new wireless router (a Linksys e1200n) to speed up the network. So, having a spare router (the old router: a Linksys WRT54G), I decided to try to convert it to an access point in the basement so the Wii U could finally get a stable internet connection (it's very picky about signal strength for some reason). I reset the old router and followed some instructions on how to make it an access point instead of a router. Once it was configured I bought another Asoka PlugLink and placed the WRT54G in the basement. I connected the PlugLink to the wall outlet and connected the Ethernet cable to LAN port 1 on the WRT54G. I thought everything would be fine, but then the problems came.
My Wii U was unable to connect to it. I also tested a couple of laptops and they were able to connect to it, but they couldn't access the internet. I assumed maybe distance from the main router was the cause(a PlugLink is connected from LAN port 1 on the back of the main router into a wall outlet, linking other PlugLinks to it), but my computer's PlugLink is in the same room and has no problems connecting.
