Cisco :: Integrating WCS 7.0 With ACS 5.1

Jan 6, 2011

Trying the config as depicted in the WCS 7 config guide? I have tried today to integrate WCS 7 with ACS 5.1 and got a partial success.  I have created a unique Shell Profile that invokes for the WCS only which contains 1 role (role0=Root) and 73 task entries (as copied from the WCS group pages) and I can log in to WCS with the new account, but some things I dont appear to have priviledges for, such as Reports.  Is there any way to debug which task WCS thinks I dont have to do this?

Besides, would you like to give me some explanation about the function of AAA mode Setup on Cisco Work,

Cisco :: 3501E Not Integrating In WLC4404 With 1121 And 1241 APs

Nov 11, 2012

We have a WLC 4404 with about 85 1121 and 1241 APs. -  I just added 6 new 3501E with Antennas, and configured the a new SSID, but non of my clients can connect to any of the 3501s.   One solution from a tech was to update the NIC drivers.   I verified that all test clients are 802.11N and sometimes they find the 3501 but often they switch to another of the older and weaker 1121 or 1241s.   On one test I had a 3501 just outside his room and his client nic was picking up a weak signal 2 floors up, then it would go to one 1 floor down.  eventually we could get it to feed of the nearest 3501 but it would go back to another 1121 or 1241 soon thereafter,.

Integrating Tablet Into A Windows Home Network?

Feb 2, 2012

I know nothing about Tablets (iPad or Android) or their operating system. My wife is interested in getting a iPad 2 or Android tablet.

I have a home WiFi network based on two laptops and a desktop. They are all running Windows OS. I also have 3 external drives and two printers USB wired into the main desktop.

I have two questions:

1) Will I be able to integrate an iPad/Android tablet into the Windows home network so as to be able to access the .jpg photographs on the desktop drives?

2) Will the tablet be able to output work to the printer attached to the Windows Desktop?

For example, do I need to add the following on the secondary or will it be sync'd from the primary?

Cisco Switches :: Catalyst 4510 - Integrating SG200 Into Existing Network

Dec 17, 2012

We have an existing network with a Catalyst 4510 core switch and departmental 3560 switches connected via fiber. Due to company restructure we can no longer afford to buy new 3560's when anything goes wrong so this week I purchased an SG200-26 which I'm trying to get onto the network.

This is a legacy network which I didn't setup so my Cisco skills are somewhat limited (another reason for the SG200's hopefully), anyway have been looking at the configs on the existing switches and trying to match settings in the SG200 setup however not getting anywhere! I have the config from the dead switch so I can show what needs to be achieved, any experience in downgrading environment in a similar way?

Cisco :: Standalone Aironet 1140 - VPN Not Working Over Wireless

Dec 19, 2010

I just installed an Aironet 1140 to replace a Netgear ProSafe access point that I had in my network prior.  I'm having one issue that I can't figure out though.  None of the client PCs can establish a connection to an external (over the internet) VPN server while on the Aironet wireless.  If i unplug the AP and plug a PC into the same port that normall feeds the Aironet I can VPN just fine.

Is there any "VPN Passthrough" option that needs to be enabled somewhere on the 1140 that is blocking this traffic for some reason?

i'm running the following IOS BOOTLDR: C1140 Boot Loader (C1140-BOOT-M) Version 12.4(18a)JA3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) and I've included my running config below

Wired PCs on the LAN that the access point is connected to are not having a problem.Pings from the laptop, through the access point, to our central WAN router are at <10ms.The WAN circuit (remote location to headquarters) is 5Mbps. No congestion.Circuit out from headquarters to I'net is 50Mbps. No congestion.Access point and router interfaces show no errors or collisions, etc. The configuration is the same as 28 other standalone access points in 28 different LANs on the WAN. They have no problems.

Cisco Wireless :: Aironet 1140 Not Connecting To Network When No PoE

Aug 8, 2012

I have an Aironet 1140 AP that will not connect to the network when on PoE (either using a Cisco PoE injector) or a Avocent Switch that provides PoE.

The AP will boot up and and devices will connect to it (the LED changes to blue) but none of the devices can get access to the corporate network or internet. When the AP is powered by the standard power supply, it operates normally, i.e. devices can access the network. Are there settings that can be changed to get the AP to work correctly on PoE?

Cisco Wireless :: Aironet 1140 Suddenly Not Detected

The odd thing is that is his computer can pick up our neighbors wireless access points, but can't "see" ours. Also, a few peoples phones can no longer detect them either - both iphone 4's (ios 5.1.1 and 6) and androids (2.3 and 4)

No changes were made to our AP's, then people started having wifi issues.

Cisco :: 1140 - Radio Type Of Wireless Client B / G Or N

Nov 28, 2011

We are using the CISCO-DOT11-ASSOCIATION-MIB in a Cisco Air AP 1140 device with release 12/4(21a)JA1 to find out the radio type of wireless client (B/G or N).  The clients in question are of type Wireless N and  Wireless B/G.  We are querying cDot11ClientDevType and cDot11ClientRadioType but the relation between the returned values and client/radio type is not clear:

2 devices returned: cDot11ClientDevType = 102 ==> pc4500Client(102) - client with a 4500 radio and ClientRadioType=2==> ccxClient(2) - CCX- compatible radio1 device returned: cDot11ClientDevType = 1==> unknown (1) – unknown and ClientRadioType= 1==> unknown(1)

Questions: On a Cisco Air AP 1140 device

What OID needs to be polled to find if the client's radio type?What value is returned by this OID  if the radio type is B/G?What value is returned by this OID  if the radio type is N?

Making Computer A Wireless Hotspot?

Dec 19, 2011

I have a computer hooked up to the internet with a cable modem via usb cable. The ethernet part of the modem is hooked up to my xbox 360.

I don't have a wireless router or a wireless internet connection but I do have a Belkin USB Wireless Adapter and I read on the web that you can turn your computer into a wireless hotspot if your computer has a wireless card with antennae or a usb wireless adapter.

Example, I have a Nintendo USB Wireless Adapter. All I do is stick it into my computer's USB port and it becomes a hotspot that I use to connect to my Nintendo DS to the internet wirelessly. So I basically thought that my Belkin adapter would be able to do the same thing only with whatever other devices I try, not my DS.
