We are having 1262 Access point model and we are getting packet drops when 20 users are connected and users do Video streaming and buffering online.
Even our AD IP address also getting packet drops during the users are connected and using youtube or someother video sites.
I recently upgraded my router because my last cisco router was having a misdirect issue. Type in facebook and you get an invalid URL and would have to reset the router to get it to work. Now I bought a new Cisco router and am regretting it. The n900 was a pretty penny and now ALL my videos are always buffering. I have several computers connected, but not active. The internet is painfully slow with the new router, but lightning fast with out it.
Currently using my laptop secuirty settings are IPv6/ and 4 SPI Firewall Protection: Enabled WPA2/WPA mixed mode.
I have tried everything: Rebooting, up to date firmware, resetting, What should I do next? Disable some of its advanced features? Cisco is earning a bad rap with me if a router that boasts high internet speeds makes all my videos buffer and load painfully slow. Let alone getting through all the commercials on the internet now.
The problem is- in the last week our internet has been very slow and has never been like this in the 4 years that we have had it, we havent moved or disturbed any wires or the router or changed any settings, im thinking its a problem with the hub it self because its the laptop, pc, mobile phones (wifi) and bbc iplayer on the wii that are affected which all worked fine upto a week ago and now we cant play videos as they just keep buffering the wii say it cannot play due to insufficent bandwidth? And the internet on the laptop and pc is very slow now and so is wifi on my mobile and cannot play videos on that either, ive tried resetting the hub and changed the channel but still no change.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two 1410 bridges installed in a point to point link using external directional antennas. The distance between the bridges is only 200M. As you can see below from the output the RSSI and SNR are excellent with a good fade margin available. These stats are almost identical to what my path profile calculated out to be. During normal operation the latency on this link sub 2ms, during certain conditions the latency jumps to 40+ms and starts dropping packets. I say certain conditions because we have not been able to pinpoint it. Unfortunately at this time the customer does not have the ability to do any SNMP polling or collect any statistical information (working on getting this setup). There are an excessive number of data retries and am not sure if that is normal. During the issues I have observered the below command output and the numbers did not change, which leads to me believe that it is not a RF issue. It almost looks like it's serialization delay, but I have no data to back that up. During iperf performance testing of this wireless link I could push 54Mbps of UDP traffic no problem, no errors, no CRC's.

We have a Cisco 1760 router . We are facing sevier packet drops in the serial interface.
When i swap the router with another router link is working working fine.
Troubleshooting steps taken
1. Swap the serial cable with another working cable : no change in state
2. Reconfigure the encapsulation commands (with PPP and HDLC) : no change in state
3. Try with a decreased MTU packet Ping : no change in state
4. Decreased the Input queue and increased the output queue size using hold-queue in command : Comparatively the packet drop is reducing but still a 10 percent drop is happening.
MIB OID and the values.also i want to know the values og output packet and output packet drops MIB OID values of POS interface on GSR router (12000).because i am getting many output packet drops on these pos interface.how do i get these values from the router.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to troubleshoot a random packet drop issue for an IPSec tunnel between two VTIs. For over a month, we didn't see any issue, and starting today, we have up to 30% packet loss across an IPSec tunnel.
After some analysis, I concluded that the packet loss happens somewhere on the path from the uc520 to the 2921. Packet counts show up correctly on the uc520 physical egress interface, but the packet count is low on the ingress interface on the 2921.
Pings outside the tunnel along the same path are fine.
I also cleared the tunnels on both ends and after they reestablished, the issue was still present.
Any pointers on finding where the packets get lost?

I can see drops on the 6509 Queue for interface gi1/6 , qos is disabled globaly with qos disabled all packets are in one Queue using best effort my question is if I can see drops using the sh queueing int Gi1/6 command why I am not seeing any drops when I run the Sh int (interface number ) command. View 7 Replies View RelatedOn several calls i noticed that the outgoing audio stops for 5..15 seconds randomly. I'd say it happens on an average of every 5 minutes.
When this happens, i can see that the value after "Call1 Packet error:" increases by one. Why just a wrong packet may stop the outgoing audio for so long? i've much more packet losts (about 3%) but they give me no problem at all.
Since a little and cheaper Handytone HT502 gave me intermittent audio too, but the effect was much better (audio still stops, but in a second it comes back), i wonder if is there something i can do by tweaking the WRP400 settings, I'm still using firmware 1.01.00.
We are facing issue related to STP.I am getting MAC FLAP error on Cisco 4510 switch. The effect on network is intermittent Pkt drops in the network. When I checked the specific Ip address I am getting the same with two different. [code] Vlan is created on CORE switch and assign priority 0 than CORE switch should be the Root. but instead Root port is becoming the port where server is connected. Server at last connected to CORE switch via HP switch via other Vlan to CORE switch and creating a loop as shown in Diag. [code] The Priority of Vlan 102 is changed and Root port has been changed due to that. The Bridge ID is the same as CORE switch.

As you can see, 30sec rate isnt excessive, but as the drops are outdiscards it would appear we are getting hit by the small buffers/microburst issue.

We have the port on the switch set like this:

In case a device connected to the port is inactive for more than 2 minues ( aging time ) the first frame/packet the device generates arrives to the port on the switch, but the switch does not forward it to the appropriate port ( discards it or whatever ).

When we remove port security from the port, it works perfectly fine, as expected.
It seems this is not HW or IOS version related. It seems it is not a stack synchronization issue, it does not matter if a device is connected to the first or other stack member. I tested on C3560 too, here there are no problems, so seems it is 3750 related.
Have an E1000 router, Samsung Blu Ray (for Netflix). At night watching Netflix is not possible with all the rebuffering and drop in picture quality. So we took the wireless laptop and set it next to the Blu Ray and started the same movie on both. The laptop played without a problem and the Blu-Ray kept rebuffering. I will probably try to hard wire the DVD but to make it permanent, will be a real pain. Having wireless would be much better.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E4200v2 couple days ago. After set up everything seem be working fine, accept my iPhone 4s. I can do almost things on my iPhone, but when I tried streaming video or streaming music from apps on the phone it stared buffering.... play..... and.... stop.... almost every 30s which never happen with my old Linksys E1000. And It happen with my wife's phone too. Even my internet speed is not bad at all (Ping: 24 / Download 23Mbs / Upload 4Mbs). So I can guess that problem from the router. Then I swap the E4200v2 with the E1000, everything works fine (it just a litle bit slower when loading at begin).

When i click to start a video, sometimes it starts but after a very long buffering time (more than 8-10 seconds), sometimes it does-not at all some other time, the advertisement play but nothing happens after that (black screen). I have a fast internet access (30 MB up, 2 Mb down). I do not have this problem with the old router that the ea3500 is replacing ( a netgear wndr3700). On this old router al the videos are starting almost instantly.
I tried to lower the MTU of the 3500 from the default 1500 to 1400. No improvement. I tried to disable the WMM feature in QOS and by doing so i create another problem : i cannot access the 5 Ghz band anymore. I can see the SSID but cannot connect to it.
I have been having extremely slow buffering on youtube fore like 2 weeks now.i used to be able to watch hd videos with no buffering wait time.now i can even watch 480p without letting it load.i have to wait several minuets even to watch a 12min video is 720p.I have cleared my catch, cookies, and all that stuff.i am using chrome but the problem persists on internet explorer and firefox.

I have no idea what i'm getting from my ISP (who is orange) but it'll probably be 20Mbps. I am using a homeplug, and there are a five wireless devices on the network.

- Opotion 60 is also configured with AP Manager's IP address
- the port connected to the APs are in the AP Manager VLAN
Do I need to plug in AP 1262 into a PoE switch or external power adapter before can power on? How about LAP 1262? Do I need PoE switch as well?

Our scenario requires some customization in Wireless network. We have moving Forklift machines fitted with network devices. The network device in forklift acts as a client. But it doesn't have a wireless adapter and no provisions to add a wireless adapter. There is one ethernet port.
So we have a plan to attach one AP(1262) to each forklift. this AP needs to talk to the AP whcih is connected to Wired network. The network deivce in the forklift need to talk to the root AP(1262) through the AP directly connected to it over Ethernet.
We have two cisco 1262 AP and a 4402 WLC, the AP cannot join the WLC.

I'm having this weird problem with an IP phone behind a WGB. The setup is like this: Cisco controller -> Switch -> switch -> AP (Air LAP1142) -> WGB (Air LAP 1262) -> switch -> IP phone.
The phone works, sometimes. Sometime for days, sometime for hours, then it disconnects and what I have to do then to get it working again is to run this command on the bridge. "no workgroup-bridge unified-vlan-client", then wait for it to disassociate, then run "workgroup-bridge unified-vlan-client" and after that it gets a stable connection (for a undetermined amount of time).

is the aironet 1262 access point a good choice for an environment of about 20 users. each users is in an office and we are looking at deploying the ap at the end of the hall on a wall mount. would distance be a barrier and are there any better options out there?

They do not want to dig up the parking lot so we proposed using a wireless bridge. I noticed that Cisco discontinue the 1300 and 1400 Wireless Bridge. Can I use a 1262 with external antenna in Workgroup Bridge mode to perform this functions? I will put a Layer 3 switch on both ends to route traffic (3560C-8). Should I use the Yagi antenna's for outdoor use?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have WLC 5508 and a few campuses with LAP 1142, each with 2-3 vlan. Now one of our campuses have a building thas is a bit far away and needs network (wired). We can't get fiber or TP-cable there in a good way. So the plan is to get two 1262 or 3500 with AIR-ANT5160NP-R antennas and get a wireless link working between the campus and the building. And then connect one of the AP's to a switch in the other building to provide it with wired network.
The problem is that I can't find information on how to do it. Should both APs be in autonomus mode? I probably only need to have 1 VLAN in the other building but I am not sure yet. Is there a problem with transfering several VLAN over the WLAN-link?
