I have two 1410 bridges installed in a point to point link using external directional antennas. The distance between the bridges is only 200M. As you can see below from the output the RSSI and SNR are excellent with a good fade margin available. These stats are almost identical to what my path profile calculated out to be. During normal operation the latency on this link sub 2ms, during certain conditions the latency jumps to 40+ms and starts dropping packets. I say certain conditions because we have not been able to pinpoint it. Unfortunately at this time the customer does not have the ability to do any SNMP polling or collect any statistical information (working on getting this setup). There are an excessive number of data retries and am not sure if that is normal. During the issues I have observered the below command output and the numbers did not change, which leads to me believe that it is not a RF issue. It almost looks like it's serialization delay, but I have no data to back that up. During iperf performance testing of this wireless link I could push 54Mbps of UDP traffic no problem, no errors, no CRC's.

I've just purchased WRVS4400N VPN router and installed it. This was a replacement of a old Linksys router. After installing the router, I've started seeing wireless drops, packet drops and latency on pings. I've installed the latest firmware, disabled Firewall services, disabled IPS. No changes at all. As a basic example, I am pinging my NAS device (hard wired to router) from a laptop connected to wireless below. Previously while connected to my old linksys router the time was equal to no more than 2ms.
I have been getting notifications of large packet loss and latency for itnernal traffic going to servers. I have a simple setup of nagios who pings servers and will notify me of large packet loss or complete packet loss. I have implemented this L3 switch a few hours ago, I am currently running a constant ping to my servers, but I am not niticing packet loss right now. This packet loss happened 4 time spans within the last hour of many large packet losses to all my servers within all subnets. It is now stopped.
I am not sure why this would be happening, the predessor of the internal router was just a normal linux box with 3 NICs on it. Nothing crazy going on since the business is closed.
I just installed a new ISR G2 3925e (spe200 integrated) in a VPN environment it works well but I lost latency (it adds around 8-10 ms in the VPN) because of " IPsec packet batching" :Queues multiple packets at the interrupt service routine level after being processed by crypto engine Reduces interrupt context switching by allowing one crypto interrupt for multiple crypto packetsIt's not very good specaly if you tunnel ToIP and/or video streamsI'm trying to find a solution how to disable it without impact other things or is there something planned soon to improve itfyi I use IOS c3900e-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M.bin
My network Infrastructure consists of 2 core switches(cisco 3950, 24 port) and 3 access switches (cisco 2960G, 48port). No distribution layer. Both Core switches are connected to the BVI of a VPN router.PVST is running in all switches. The STP results are all good. We have 3 VLAN's in the LAN an IP routing is enables in the core switch. The network diagram is attached.
The issue we are facing is that , we get intermittent packet drops while pinging towards the access switches, and there is always a higher latency towards these assess switches. These issues are present even with no other users using the LAN. But these issues are not present while pinging towards the GW.
I guess, it is because of this, we have issues the accessing file server in the LAN. How do we go ahead with the troubleshooting. Will upgrading the IOS resolve this. The present version details is..
I started using Windows 7, on two different computers. I get pretty bad lag spikes while using Skype and playing online games. They occur about once per minute and last maybe one second. There is a "Network Throttling" fix floating around the internet which I have tried, to no avail. I don't know much more about computers than a basic understanding, and am completely new to Win7.

We have a Cisco 1760 router . We are facing sevier packet drops in the serial interface.
When i swap the router with another router link is working working fine.
Troubleshooting steps taken
1. Swap the serial cable with another working cable : no change in state
2. Reconfigure the encapsulation commands (with PPP and HDLC) : no change in state
3. Try with a decreased MTU packet Ping : no change in state
4. Decreased the Input queue and increased the output queue size using hold-queue in command : Comparatively the packet drop is reducing but still a 10 percent drop is happening.
MIB OID and the values.also i want to know the values og output packet and output packet drops MIB OID values of POS interface on GSR router (12000).because i am getting many output packet drops on these pos interface.how do i get these values from the router.
I'm trying to troubleshoot a random packet drop issue for an IPSec tunnel between two VTIs. For over a month, we didn't see any issue, and starting today, we have up to 30% packet loss across an IPSec tunnel.
After some analysis, I concluded that the packet loss happens somewhere on the path from the uc520 to the 2921. Packet counts show up correctly on the uc520 physical egress interface, but the packet count is low on the ingress interface on the 2921.
Pings outside the tunnel along the same path are fine.
I also cleared the tunnels on both ends and after they reestablished, the issue was still present.
Any pointers on finding where the packets get lost?

In the company we have two SSIDs for corporate and guest networks respectively when I try to connect to any of the SSIDs it doesn't happen until 5 retries. The only log I get that seems to be related to it is the following:
*Jun 11 11:48:09.062: %APF-1-DISCONECT_MOBILE_DUE_TO_WLAN_SW: apf_policy.c:541 Disconnecting mobile 00:23:32:73:d7:15 due to switch of WLANs from 1(femsawl) to 2(visitas)
Here it shows a switch between SSIDs but if you just turned on an apple device and try to associate for the first time to any of the SSIDs the scenario is the same, several tries to connect.I am running a 4402 wlc with 6.0.202.0 software version.
We are experiencing a high amount of retries in one direction between two 1310 bridges with external yagi antennas. What would this indicate? Here is a copy of the linktest:

I can see drops on the 6509 Queue for interface gi1/6 , qos is disabled globaly with qos disabled all packets are in one Queue using best effort my question is if I can see drops using the sh queueing int Gi1/6 command why I am not seeing any drops when I run the Sh int (interface number ) command. On several calls i noticed that the outgoing audio stops for 5..15 seconds randomly. I'd say it happens on an average of every 5 minutes.
When this happens, i can see that the value after "Call1 Packet error:" increases by one. Why just a wrong packet may stop the outgoing audio for so long? i've much more packet losts (about 3%) but they give me no problem at all.
Since a little and cheaper Handytone HT502 gave me intermittent audio too, but the effect was much better (audio still stops, but in a second it comes back), i wonder if is there something i can do by tweaking the WRP400 settings, I'm still using firmware 1.01.00.
We are facing issue related to STP.I am getting MAC FLAP error on Cisco 4510 switch. The effect on network is intermittent Pkt drops in the network. When I checked the specific Ip address I am getting the same with two different. [code] Vlan is created on CORE switch and assign priority 0 than CORE switch should be the Root. but instead Root port is becoming the port where server is connected. Server at last connected to CORE switch via HP switch via other Vlan to CORE switch and creating a loop as shown in Diag. [code] The Priority of Vlan 102 is changed and Root port has been changed due to that. The Bridge ID is the same as CORE switch.

We have the port on the switch set like this: switchport port-security maximum 25 switchport port-security switchport port-security aging time 2 switchport port-security violation restrict switchport port-security aging type inactivity
In case a device connected to the port is inactive for more than 2 minues ( aging time ) the first frame/packet the device generates arrives to the port on the switch, but the switch does not forward it to the appropriate port ( discards it or whatever ).

When we remove port security from the port, it works perfectly fine, as expected.
It seems this is not HW or IOS version related. It seems it is not a stack synchronization issue, it does not matter if a device is connected to the first or other stack member. I tested on C3560 too, here there are no problems, so seems it is 3750 related.
When I view web page of 1410 radio is show ethernet enabled and up but radio as disabled and down. I have tried to enable but to no avail. Is this a sign my radio has gone bad?
I have a point to point link of 9.27 km using 1410 bridges and AIR-ANT58G28SDA-N antennas as per the documentation that would be an easy to deploy link and it should work at 54 Mbps, eventhough it drops the link, it's so slow and the power measurments indicate -70 dbm (aprox) right under the antenna which is at 9 m height.
This is not the first time I have troubles with 1410 bridges, the other two times I had to change them for 1310 bridges. I wonder if it has to do with some configuration tunning like, external antena gain, link distance or anything else? By the wat this is ocurring in México don't know if that might be worth of taking into consideration in order to deploy a 1410 link.
A customer has a wireless PTP bridge using a pair of 1410 bridges. The non-root bridge event log shows the RSSI polling information message indicating the link's signal strength; ie. -42 dBm. It updates every few seconds or so. The root bridge does not show this information in the event log. Both bridges have the event log configuration options set identically, all messages types are enabled. I can't find any reference to this in the documents. Is this by design? I thought that maybe a root bridge if it was set up as a multi-point might be overwhelmed if it was showing/scrolling RSSI from multiple non-roots.
how far apart an Aironet 1410 Bridge can be from the Power Injector (Dual Coax feeds). I just can't find the specification details. The device comes with a 20' and 50' F-type and I'm looking at 150' runs for both ends of the bridge pair.
I want to link them using fiber as they are almost 50 meters apart. What connectors should I use and what fiber optic cable can be connected to those connectors.I have found these connectors and cables on internet will these work
I have a toshiba satellite 1410 s173 laptop running windows xp.It has a 3 com megahertz 3cxm 356 modem with a yelleow exclamation point beside it, with a code ten error in device manager.
We have 22 x AP1602.5 of them show up in the WLC with Controller Association Latency of around 1 minute and 10 seconds. The other 17 all have latency around 10 seconds.
1. What are possibile causes for high value of association latency?
2. Could high-value association latency be an indication of badly working wifi for data traffic?
my latency values are extremely high, sometimes millions(!) of microseconds. THe problem is always solved by disconnecting the 11b/g wireless LAN adapter, or the Intel(R) Gigabit Network connection. However, I can't work without internet.
I work for a small college. We have several Cisco 1200 Aironet deployed our the campus, all of which are configures to run multiple SSID's. The problem I have is that when I connect, via AP, it successfully connects to the desired SSID but on pinging the default gateway of said SSID I get high latency (avg around 100 - 200ms).When pinging from the switch (Cisco 2950) to the default gateway the latency is good (1-2ms). It is just high when I connect via the C1200 AP and try to ping.
When using this laptop (Toshiba Satellite C660D-1GD) on the forum it seemed unusually laggy when changing pages, whereas when using my Toshiba Satellite L450D it is always more positive.Decided to do some ping tests via the cmd prompt (after checking the error count via telnet) and they were in the hundreds. The L450D ping tests are spot on so I know it isn't the router (Billion Bipac 7800N)Been the usual route, totally uninstalled the wireless adaptor (Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n) including the Cisco elements, Eset and MBAM full scan and downloaded chipset drivers. Even factory reset the router and deleted the wireless profile including reg entries as a last resort. After each of those operations (other than reinstalling the wireless adaptor) the latency would be spot on and continued to be after an immediate reboot, but logging on a couple of hours later or the following morning, they would be very high again. After reinstalling the wireless adaptor for the second time, on a hunch I removed the Ethernet cable and run another test. The latency came in high but when I re-ran the test wired, they were spot on.
Phoned up KnowHow techs and read off the numbers who then put me onto 2nd level tech. He remotely connected and ran a couple of ping -n 50 tests as well as a tracert but was unable to replicate the results I was gettiing. As nothing was broken (for him), nothing to fix but to phone again if it continued.I rebooted after the phone call and got the high latency straight off. I wondered, as the latency returned to normal after certain operations I'd done, whether the remote connection had the same effect.Having been on the phone for 55mins, I'd had enough. These are two tests I've recorded from today which are together in one Wordpad doc, so you'll be able to see what I mean. Ctrl+C has been a bit erratic so they are the only ones I've been able to save. [code]
We have Wireless Setup and facing the latency issue for Wireless users , Wireless Controller is 2504 and AP are of 3600 Series .Even we stand below the AP , latency is in range of 19 to 20 ms , while client has Autonomous setup , so when he shifts the connectivity to Autonomous Setup he get latency is range 2 to 8 ms which is good then WLC setup...
While Testing We made the Single AP on which is integrated with WLC and check the Latency , but in these senario also it range from 19 to 20 ms ... ( Also sametime all Autonomous AP's were Off )
I am attaching the show techsupport to resolve the issue and tell me what fine tunning can be done to resolve the latency issue.
