View 1 RepliesAlright, My laptop (MSI) won't connect to my router, it used to connect, but I tracked it as intruder to stop my kids from getting on, and when I stopped tracking it as an intruder it wouldn't work at all, same with the computer in my kids room. It will connect to other networks, but not mine. I use network magic.

However my husband's laptop we were unable to connect it to the router. When we went into the Connectivity utility on his computer, we found the router and clicked on it. We attempted to put the password that was set by NetGear. However when I went to type in the password, it didn't allow me to type anything. It was as if the keyboard was locked.
Or is the router too "new" for this Laptop? The Windows systems is Xp Professional. Otherwise I may have to return it. We have an older NetGear router that it connects to with no problems.
I recently got a new router, the belkin with n600 db with F9K1102 v1 firmware.i upgraded from my old belkin router to this due to more wireless items in the house and for some reason i cannot get my HP G72 laptop to connect to it, and this isnt the first time i had issues with this laptop. the first issue was that if im more than say 10ft away from the router device my laptop would not connect, but if i was next to it it would work fine.now i can not seem to connect to this new router at all, i can pick it up, just it wont connect.. wirelessly it wont connect, but wired it'll work just fine.i get an error saying i could not be connected, and its going to troubleshoot then it just says it can not resolve my connectivity issues my wired desktop works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter being away for a week, I return home to find my laptop unable to connect to the Internet. It seems the router has been reset (as the router name has returned to its original). My laptop can recognise the router, it shows 5 bars signal strength but will not connect. I know the password is correct as my iPhone can connect. I am not too knowledgeable about these thingsI have tried deleting all saved networks and re-booting. I had no problem connecting a week ago.

I know the wireless router is working fine, because my hp touchpad connects no problem.Lap is a dell inspiron m5030 with windows7 x64 on it.It's brand new, but I removed the dell stuff and installed win7 ultimate, as I already owned it. View 14 Replies View RelatedSince recently I am no longer able to connect to my router from one of my laptops. The connection is failing wireless as well as by cable. My other two laptops are having no problem at all so I think it is a problem with the laptop.I check other posts and found I could do a TCP/IP reset so I have done that.If have executed these commands on a elevated command line:
- netsh winsock reset catalog
- netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
- netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
I have restared the laptop afterwards but the problem remains: I am unable to connect to the router. This is the output of the "ipconfig /all" command (command is ran while I've had only the adapter with the cable enabled, wireless adapter was disabled): [code]
I just move to a new place and find out only me can't connect to the wireless router. This laptop can connect to other wireless routers but not this one.My other laptop and cellpone can connect to the router successfully(so I'm sure the code is right, and the router dosen't set any MAC filter).I've tried to reinstall the driver of my wireless card, and still not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI built a desktop to replace my laptop and set it aside for two weeks. So I go back to the laptop and it says the networks available but I can't connect to the router. It reminds of the first time I wired a network at work. All the wireless info seems to be right I went to my RT-nu Asus router and reset that. That seems to be OK. DCHP is OK password for the WPA seems OK. I did upgrade the firmware to the router but that worked ok. That won't have affected the laptop in anyway would it? I do have a preprogram of WIN 8 but its not telling I have to buy it yet. Whoa, how could it if I can't get on the net. Do you think that might be it? Everything on the laptop works well otherwise and it's not informing to but Win 8.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 Network Adapter. It can be picky about what routers it connects to but usually it stops being stubborn after a few minutes. Now it won't connect to my building's internet (while my other computer and devices can). My laptop can access any other wifi and internet. Sometimes it can connect to the WIFI but gets no internet and sometimes I cannot connect to the WiFi at all.
1. Sometimes I'm able to connect to router and just not have internet. Sometimes I can't connect at all.
2. I deleted network profile multiple times. Made no difference.
3. Disabled network adapter and re-enabled - Didn't work
4. Updated Net Adapt driver. - Nope
5. Anytime I connect to router the security is set incorrectly to WEP. Troubleshooting tells me to adjust this which I did to WPA2-Personal. Still still couldn't access internet.
6. Tried to ipconfig /renew and ipconfig /release in cmd but says "no operation can be performed on wireless network connection while it has its media disconnected" - so nope
7. Tried a se[erate USB network adapter - No difference. This actually surprised me, I figured it must be my Intel 6200 but alas it isn't.
My biggest hurdle is I cannot access the router. I have to figure this out on my laptop and I have no Ethernet chord ability either. Every forum post I read about wifi issues people always tinker with their router and it fixes it.
My laptop wont connect to the internet, it dosent even show my provider to connect with, however it works fine when connected by eternet cable to my router..

View 14 Replies View Relatedconnecting my old laptop to my router (Netgear WNDR3700v2) The router is an N router but is backwards compatible, but my laptop can't find it. The laptop is an LG LE50-5273V. I looked into the device manager and found two network adapters; 802.11b/g wireless adapter and Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller. So it should be able to connect to it? Besides from that laptop I have another PC connected to the router and it works (Using N), Will I then be able to combine both N with B/G?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust bought a new laptop for my mother - a Packard Bell Easynote TS with Windows 7. Attempted to connect it to our home's existing router, but have run into problems. We have two other computers in the house, both linked via ethernet to the router (a Netgear DG834Gv5) although one sometimes goes wireless with no problem whatsoever. I have been on various forums to find ways of solving this issue; I have turned off the router and laptop and rebooted both; I have checked at the router IP address to see if the SSID name is broadcasting, it is; I have added the correct MAC address to the access list as we are on WPA2-PSK (wifi protected access 2 with pre-shared key); I have tried disabling this security option in the hope it allows a connection but no; I have even tried copying the existing network configuration from the laptop than can connect wirelessly and via USB stick pasted across to the new laptop, this also failed to work. I have also been into the Device Manager to check the network adapter (ATHEROS AR5B97) is working properly and it has the latest drivers installed - it has. There is no yellow warning symbol on it. When I run a diagnostic check it results in: "Investigate router or access point issues."
Booting up the laptop reveals that there are wireless network connections available - the home one. It has a good-to-excellent signal strength, radio type = 802.11g, the SSID is showing. But when I click on 'connect', it brings up: "WINDOWS WAS UNABLE TO CONNECT TO [our SSID]"When I connect this new laptop using the ethernet cable that I sometimes run my existing laptop with, it connects to the internet with no problem at all, so it is definitely just a wireless issue. The only thing that I am aware I haven't tried is to uninstall the pre-installed 60-day trial of Norton which some suggest may block the signal (is that right?) but I have temporarily disabled it and that did nothing.
I have a Netgear wireless router(WGR614 v9) and im trying to connect a second laptop to it. The laptop is accessing the internet when I have it connected to my modem via Cat 5 Patch cable. When I detach the cable from the laptop and modem, it doesn't connect to the internet. I went through the whole installing with the cd that comes with the router but after I finish I get the same results.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy laptop only connects wirelessly if it's in the same room (actually, at the same desk) as the router. I just installed a new router and that did not solve the problem. I took the laptop to a pc repair shop and it connected wirelessly there withouto a problem; I also took it to Best Buy and was able to connect wirelessly there as well). So, problem solvers figured it was the router (which was quite old)I've now replaced the router but still can't connect wirelessly unless I'm in the same room as the router!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI started off with my dl speed around 2 years ago at about 210kbs. Not the best but because i live in a rural area i was happy enough. But now my connection has dropped massivly to 40kbs being the peak. The internet was faster in the stone ages -_-. Anyway, i want to figure out if its the wires in the area being faulty or as someone told me it might be my wireless router (Netgear). I'm trying to plug my laptop directly into the internet without the use of wireless to find out if it is the router being the problem. The only cable i could find an ethernet to ethernet cable. I've tried plugging into router and a bit that said modem and tried to set up a connection. It didnt work so connect my laptop to the internet without the wireless router.
