I have another computer that can connect to my wireless-N, so network is working fine. I have updated the driver to the greatess and latest.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Wi-Fi connection problem on my Dell Inspiron 17R SE 7720 with Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230. Every time after I log in to Windows I can’t use internet for about 5 to 15 minutes. After that time everything seems almost OK. During this time there’s yellow exclamation mark on my connection icon (saying that there’s no internet connection) just for a few seconds, than it dissapears and apparently internet connection is OK (signal strength is very good the whole time), but during this 5-15 minutes downtime I can’t use internet. Websites by domains don’t respond, neither pings do, but when I ping eg. google.com by its IP it responds quickly, so I thought it’s a DNS issue.Connection settings are automatic. DNS servers (resolved automatically) of my cable ISP respond OK when I ping them during the downtime. So just to check, I’ve set manually DNS servers to Google public DNS servers (both IPv4 and IPv6). It didn’t work.
I don’t use antivirus software other than Windows Defender. The issue occurs with and without firewall. I have the most recent both BIOS (A11) and Wi-Fi drivers (15.3.1.2 downloaded from Intel site). My system: Windows 7 Home Premium PL 64bit. I keep the system updated with Windows Updates. The issue occurs when Windows manages my connection and also when I have Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi software installed.I don’t allow Window to turn off the WiFi card (device’s energy settings). I’ve set Roaming Aggressiveness to 5. Highest and Ad Hoc Channel 802.11 b/g to 11 (I’ve seen such a piece of advice somewhere). Maybe it’s something with compatibility with the router, by the issue doesn’t occur of any other device in my network (Android phones, Kindle, iPad). I’ve got Cisco EPC3925 from my cable ISP. They didn’t give me the password, so for now I can’t change its settings.

I have intel centrino n 2230 wireless card in my alienware M17X-R4. When I search for available WLANs I can see all 2.4 GHz networks but none 5 GHz.
I have Netgear WNDR3800 AP running openwrt backfire 10.03.1

i tried several config alternatives - no joy
i updated the driver of the intel wifi card to the latest - no joy.
I let him take control of the system, he ran [URL] with me 6 feet from router, and then again 30 feet. Huge difference in speed, approximately 10x slower at 30 feet. He initially stated the problem was with the antenna connection and offered to send a tech to replace the antenna, which requires a display replacement as well. I was skeptical so pressed him to verify that this was a known solution since there were so many complaints. He was absolutely certain this was the issue, but put me on hold to double check. He came back and stated they needed to replace the wi-fi card from the Dell 1901 to Intel 2230 along with the antenna. As a former antenna engineer, I suspect the problem is the design of the antenna and/or its location, and not the drivers or wi-fi card.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have just taken delivery of a new Inspiron N5110 with an Intel Centrino N-1030 wifi card. I also have two dual band routers (LInksys WRT600N) in different locations in the house.
My problem is that the laptop is detecting my routers Wireless-G signals but NOT the Wireless-N signals. I have checked to ensure that the N-1030 card has 802.11n Mode set to Enabled and have also tried both setting under "802.11n Channel Width for band 2.4" (i.e. Auto and 20 MHz Only) with no success.
My routers are configured with the Wireless-G signal only on 2.4 GHz and Wireless-N only on 5 GHz. I found this to be the best setting to avoid interference from neighbors wifi and cordless phones and have been happily using Wireless-N with my other Dell laptop with no problems (XPS M1530 with Intel 4965agn wireless card).Does the N-1030 card not work with 5 GHz Wireless-N?
The wireless on my laptop keeps dropping out. When I first got it it was fine, but after a while I started experiencing problems on every wireless network I connected to. Most of the time it would connect, but after around 10 minutes or so, the connection would drop out and the wireless card has to be "reset" so I can connect again. Otherwise I have a little yellow triangle over my network signal strength bars. I've updated to the latest drivers (14.2.0.10) but it was no luck.
This happens with every wireless network and I know it's not the network because my old Vostro 1500 is running just dandy on all of them.
I have a Lenovo T420 with a Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 wireless network card that causes me some headache. It randomly gets disconnected from my router (Zyxel P-2601HN-F1) and home network, works fine though if i using cable. Right after it gets disconnected it reconnects and works fine until it gets disconnected again. I have an HP laptop connected at the same time and no problems there.It works fine in the network in our office (work laptop). I tried our IT dept but they were clueless and told me I had to figure it out by myself, as it works in the office..

Under both win 7 x64 (preinstalled dell) and 8 x64 on another hdd, there's no chance to have wifi working: I mean it does not work as normal wifi to connect to internet and it does not work not even a hotspot to let me connect for example my smarthphone to internet using wifi and a shared cable connection.The card seems to work, since I run a live fedora 18 distro linux from dvd and the wifi was able to connect pc to internet in less than one minute...
(of course I tried dell suggested drivers from download area, last updated intel drivers from intel website, etc etc...)...The wifi seemes to be correctly recognized in the pc but I get errors when I try to connect to router (I tried more than one routers that correctly work).

I have just got my new xps 17 and opted for the 6230, It only gets to 20 meg download speed, I can insert my old usb N adaptor and get the full 50 meg. I was on the phone for 2 hours last night with Dell, they had remote access and tried lots of things to improve the problem.
Finally once they saw that my old usb adaptor was much faster, they said a technician would call me back today betweek 12pm and 1pm or 4.30pm.
I'm having some connection problems with my new laptop (Dell XPS 14z).When I'm close to my router (D-Link DIR 635), the connection works just fine.When I'm a bit further from my router, I get a poor connection and a slow speed. I've tested 2 other laptops at the same spot, both of which have no problem with the connection.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an XPS L502x laptop with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wireless card with the latest driver 15.6.0.0. For the past couple of weeks the strength of the signal as measured by the Intel proset tools goes from excellent to poor in the space of 60 seconds, back and forth. It seems to do this on all channels from 1 to 13. It definitely is affecting Internet performance. I have the security set at WPA-Personal in an attempt to try and stabilise the network. I have also been using iSSIDer to try and find the best channel since there are about 10 other wireless networks from other houses around me. I have a D-Link 645 router which is admittedly about 10 metres and 2 or 3 walls away. However, until a fortnight ago, the network was dead stable showing a strong signal (4 or 5 bars (-50). Now it is all over the place. Could it be a damaged card?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS u56e laptop running Win7 Pro that I bought in Aug 2011. Unfortunately my problems started when I was working in East Timor and could not take it anywhere except the IT department where I worked. It is true that for a while I was using the LAN at work and also at my hotel where numerous ISPs were used at various points in time.
I have progressively lost almost total use of the wireless capacity of the machine and this is regardless of where I am using the computer (country, state, public or private networks). Very rarely will I have access and then not for long. When it is not working I will get a message saying that a network adapter cannot be found.
I have updated the driver software and experimented with the power settings. I have also uninstalled an ASUS utility that I read might have been a problem. About the only thing that sometimes works is to disable the network adapter, shut down, and then restart the computer. But not for long.
There is WiMax capability that came with the computer, which I bought at Best Buy. Based on IT advice I have made sure that WiMax is off but the wifi button indicates 'on.' When I am having problems though, I cannot see the wifi button.
I am using Windows Firewall and Webroot SecureAnywhere v.8.02.109. At device manager I see for network adapters: Intel(R) Centrino(R) WiMax 6150 and Intel(R)Centrino(R) WirelessN6150. There is also an entry above for a 6150 Function Driver.
I have attached an image of the ipconfig from the ASUS.
Just bought and Alienware m17x, which has the Intel Centrino N2230 wireless card. The N2230 states that it is WIDI enabled but my computer shows nothing regarding wireless display anywhere in the search field. Don't know if there's compatibility issues with other components of my computer. If so the list of specs is as follows: CPU- 3rd gen Intel corei7 3630QM. GPU- 2GB GDDR5 NVidia GeForce GTX 660M. View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a used Latitude E5420. It looked like the seller did a fresh reinstall of Windows just before selling it to me. The non-internet applications are working fine, but it's not connecting to my home wireless router. I have a Buffalo WHR G-125. I tried pretty much every type of security type, but nothing worked, so I eventually disabled security and set up MAC filtering, after which I put in the MAC address for the laptop. That still didn't solve the problem.
It does connect to my neighbor's unsecured linksys network. Both the neighbor's network and mine are 802.11g
I went to Intel's website and installed the latest drivers for the network card, but that didn't work. I'm using the latest firmware on the router already.

I got a DAP-1522 and here is my situation. I have a wireless router connected to the internet downstairs. I want to extend the range by creating a new wireless network upstairs. So I want the DAP-1522 to connect to the wireless router, and then become another access point upstairs.
I was able to connect to the wireless router in the DAP-1522 setup wizard, but nowhere was I able to configure that actual DAP-1522 WIRELESS setup. Nothing ever showed up on the "Wireless Settings". Just "Save Settings" "Do Not Save Settings" and the rest of the screen empty. On the status page it does show it is connected.
Am I doing something wrong or will the DAP-1522 not do this?
I want to send a WoL (wake on lan) packet to power up a PC which is wired to DAP-1522. The DAP-1522 is connected to my DIR-655 router wirelessly. So far, I have no luck. Do you know if the DAP-1522 is capable of passing the WoL? Does it need a firmware upgrade before it can do so?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a defective DAP-1522, or what. First off, I have never been able to access the unit at http://DLINKAP when my computer is connected directly to the 1522 via ethernet, only 192.168.0.50 works to bring up the web interface.
Second, I have more than one AP at my house, but the DAP-1522 is the only networking device I have have problems with (I am using the unit in AP mode). Basically, the problem is the wireless connection usually is much slower than my other APs (both N and G), even when the computer is physically right next to the DAP-1522. And that's when the unit is at it's best. At it's worst, I can't connect to the internet at all, even though my laptop shows full signal strength. The 1522 just seems really finicky. The problem doesn't seem to be a networking issue, because a 2nd AP that is connected through the wired portion of the DAP-1522 works perfectly, implying the 1522 is having no networking issues when using the ethernet ports. But since the problems persist with full signal strength and with the computer right next to the 1522, it doesn't seem to be a wireless connection issue either. And I have no problems connecting to any other wireless APs I own (and I own about 5 others, not that I use them all at the same time).
If I could, I would return my 1522, but I've been tinkering with it for too long now to return it. It has caused me a ton of frustration. I had a wired-only router for a long time (hence the purchase of the 1522), but just bought a new wireless-N router that is performing perfectly (as a router, and as an N AP). I hoped the old router might have not been playing nice with the 1522, but have seen no improvement with the 1522 wired to the new router (on opposite ends of my home).
Note that I use Macs only, no Windows machines. I started with the 1.02 firmware for the 1522, now have 1.20 firmware, but have noticed no improvements with my issues.
My RIM Playbook will connect to the DIR-601. My HP Laptop with the Intel WiFi 5300 AGN will connect to it.
However the Acer Aspire 1640 with the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG will not.
SYMPTOMS: The system can see the network SSID, even seems to pick up the correct encryption (AES or TKIP) and also whether I've configured it for B or G modes. However when I attempt to connect to the network, the system prompts for the key, then pretends like it never did. A second attempt prompts for the key, and attempts to connect, but fails, simply saying "Cannot connect."
SOFTWARE: This laptop is running Windows XP Home Edition SP3. I've tried connecting using the Intel client PROSET software (the newest version, just downloaded) as well as the native Windows client. THE EXACT SAME BEHAVIOUR OCCURS, leading me to believe it's not a software issue.
HARDWARE: This is a D-Link DIR-601 at Hardware Version B1 and Firmware Version 2.00NA
I have the router set to WPA-Personal, WPA2 Only, TKIP (have tried it on AES too), G only (have also tried B only). The router has already been hard reset and I started over from scratch. I've also ensured I have the latest drivers for the wifi adapter.
Other laptops, tablets, and even phones can connect to the router with no issue.
Seems like this is an incompatibility with this particular Intel WiFi adapter, but cannot find any official list of incompatible hardware I can use to confirm.
Would changing the software to DD-WRT work in this case, do you think? Or is this more likely to be a hardware thing?
Using as AP. Last Tuesday in the middle of a Netflix movie the video stopped. Now the wireless portion of the DAP-1522 refuses to pass any type of video. Everything else works (email, Google, Facebook, etc.). I can get to Netflix, Youtube, Yahoo, etc. .....but none of them will pass video.
Using a direct wired connection to the DAP-1522 everything works. Netflix, Youtube, etc.
Download speed checks at 17.74mbps.
I'm setting up A DAP-1522 in bridge mode. Network setup went fine. When I went to wireless setup I got a blank page, all white no letters, nothing. I've logged out and back in again with the same results.
