I just recently purchased the DCS-930L wireless camera, and I am trying to connect it to my Netgear router but it states that there's an error and can't connect. My itouch and laptop connects fine with the router.
View 6 RepliesMy internet speeds are 45 Mbps DL and 1 Mbps UL and my various wireless connections (3 laptops in my household) were achieving speeds anywhere from 25-40 Mbps DL. My router started acting up and wasn't letting anyone connect via wifi so I did a factory reset and set it up the same way I did before (as best as I could), it started working fine again but now the speeds on all the devices that are connecting to at are capped at 18 Mbps. A simple speed test shows that no matter what they won't pass 18 Mbps, I am almost 100% certain this is the router and I was wondering what I might have done wrong or what is causing this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the MAC setup Utility(BETA) and it can't find the camera.The camera is connected via Ethernet-Light on the front under the lens is green (blinks sometimes)First thing I noticed wrong was the setup utility asks if the light on the side of the camera is lit green-there's no light on the side of the camera as far as I can tell. I tried unplugging the camera and hitting the reset button on the back-nothing works.

I have installed two 930L cameras which work fine via mydlink. When I attempt to connect them to D-View Cam 3.11 they fail to connect or will not stay connected.I first tried connecting to the router with both cameras in the same room as the router. One will connect and stay connected but the other will connect and freeze or not connect at all. If I move th GOOD camera out of the room, it will not connect.Do I have a router issue? I am using Verizon FIOS with their supplied router (Actiontec, I think). My wireless laptop connects but signal strength is never 5 bars.

But it only works as long it is connected via lan cable to my router. I accessed the set up (via ipaddress) and entered the router details to the setup but as soon I disconnect from lan it does not work anymore. What did I oversee.

I have a wireless network in my home. I reliably get solid connections on our various devices such as the Wii (netflix streaming), a net book, a laptop and Wi-Fi connections on android phones. When I first set up the 930L I thought it was defective because I couldn't get a connection. Until I did it in the same room as the router okay, that worked. But I move 2 rooms over and I no longer connect.
Seriously, I can go a few rooms away and easily stream an HD movie via netflix to my net book. But if I set up the 930L at the exact same location it will not connect. If I move the camera within about 20 feet of the router with only maybe 1 wall between them, it will connect.
At this level of wireless power it is nearly worthless for me. Is my camera defective or are all of them this lower powered?I am running a dlink router, 300N, WPA security. Like I said, I can connect if I'm literally 10 feet away. But any significant distance or anything more than a single wall in between and the router no longer sees the camera. And all other wireless devices have strong, reliable connections all through my house.
Just replaced my SMC Gateway with a Cisco Home Networking Modem, router doesn't see DCS 930 cameras. Working perfect before. I start the wizard, I plug in camera power, plug in ethernet cable for setup, light is green as requested, searches for camera, comes up "No Cameras found". Called ISP provider to reset modem, still no go. Tried a wireless setup using the "buttons", no go. Reset cameras..

AirPort Utility 5.5.2, OSX 10.6.6.I can see the cam with the myDlink Lite iPhone (4) App when I am in my house with my wireless network. When I am out, away from my network, the App can't connect to the cam, tells me to check my network settings. I did the wps way and added the cam in the airport base utility *Access Control* tab but still doesn't work. Checked in the cam web page settings, can't figure out what the Pre-Shared Key is and where I get it/set it up in the airport utility...

When I have the camera connected via the Ethernet cable it works fine, as soon as I unplug the Ethernet cable it will not connect wirelessly. I tested the camera on a friends router E3000 and the camera connects fine and work flawlessly on his network wirelessly. Any settings in the router that need to changed or set differently?? All of my other devices work great. I have been through D-Links Tech support all things point back to my router.

I then start fresh. i get all the way to choosing wireless and input the password. It states that there is a problem saving your settings. I tells me nothing more. I spent 4 hours on the phone with tech support and i can get it working through wired but I can't put it in my childs room wired. it worked perfectly before the router switch. funny thing is that its the same brand and model router.

I only want it to be sending emails when I am not home, of course, but there's no way to turn off the camera through my dlink.com as far as I can tell (only an option to remove the camera, which I assume is something more drastic). I bought and hooked up my DCS-930L camera last week. Have since traveled overseas and go to Mydlink website, log-in and then it tries to install a java applet that never does install. It shows the security box where it asks me to run and then it shows another security box with a message: java.io.FileNotFoundException:C:usersmynameAppDataLocalLowSunJavaDeploymentsecurity rusted.certs(Access is denied)
I click ok and the java applet never loads. It just keeps saying Installing Java Applet.
I have a DCS-930 running successfully on my home network. Now I want to set up a DCS-932 on a different network at my mother's house in another city, so I can monitor her house from a distance. Questions:
1. After installing, will I be able to see both cameras at mydlink.com if they are on different networks?
2. Is installation any different because there are 2 networks?
3. Can I use the existing install wizard on the laptop that I used with the 1st installation or should I use my mother's PC?
4. How do I get started since the first instruction is to insert and use the CD that came with the new camera?
Basically I want to know what the install procedure is if I am using a different network but the same laptop I used with the 1st one. The laptop has a wireless connection to both networks.
I think I did everything per the manual, but I cannot access my camera over the internet thru [URL] website. It says that I have to check if I have enough bandwidth, or checked if my camera is not blocked by my router But I have a Dlink DIR 655 router where I have configured the Virtual server (port 80) as it is explain in the manual I also have a DHCP reservation that works fine (I can access the camera within my network) What should I do more now to finally access my camera from internet (this is for me the interest of havinf a network camera!)

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy DSC-930L's web interface becomes unresponsive about an hour or two after power cycling my camera. It still responds to pings, and it still sends images to FTP when it detects motion, but I can't log into it via web interface, mydlink, or the iphone app. Power cycling the camera fixes the problem for an hour or so but then its right back to not working again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't get my brand new DCS-930L cam to connect to my network by using the WPA / WPA2 encryption. Works ok wired, with WEP or with no encryption enabled. Red led is on the front. I've tested sw version 1.02, 1.03 and the latest 1.04b03. Same result: WPA doesn't work. I have a Thomson TG789 Gateway/Router as provided by my ISP. All other units in the network works perfectly fine on WPA i.e. PC, Mac, printers, mobile phones etc etc.

I've just successfully set up my network camera and as I was running through the advanced settings, what it wants from me when it comes to setting up images being sent to my e-mail. I've looked up some old threads to get a clue and thus far nothing works. Testing my entries results in "Invalid e-mail setting" 10 out of 10 times.
The setting format I'm trying to use is as follows:

My GMail account is POP Enabled (whatever that is) and I used the username for that e-mail for bother the Sender and Receiver fields, as well as that e-mails username and password.
I'm lost. I bought the camera so I could document my landlord's maintenance people "touring" my apartment while I'm at work, but I wasn't aware having it save screenshots would be so complicated.
