Since the blackout beginning of this week from dlink I had to reset my camera totally to operate it again. works now again with iphone and with mydlink. But it only works as long it is connected via lan cable to my router. I accessed the set up (via ipaddress) and entered the router details to the setup but as soon I disconnect from lan it does not work anymore. What did I oversee.

I've got the Di-614+ connected to a Wimax system. The Wimax is plugged into one of the LAN jacks in the Di-614+ (i tried pluggin it into the WAN jack but it does not work). I'm able to use the internet fine without any problems using the wireless connection on my laptop.
The thing is the ip 192.168.1.1 is set to open up the setup page of my Wimax modem. I cant seem to access the setup page of my Di-614+. I tried disconnecting the Wimax jack, and still google chrome just responds with "This webpage is not available". My other option is to hard reset the wireless router. But i worry it will ask for a password and i wont know it.
815 is setup & works computer is connected to wifi but I can not surf the net I am using a Amped UA600 usb adapter I have no idea why I still not not surf the net?

When I have the camera connected via the Ethernet cable it works fine, as soon as I unplug the Ethernet cable it will not connect wirelessly. I tested the camera on a friends router E3000 and the camera connects fine and work flawlessly on his network wirelessly. Any settings in the router that need to changed or set differently?? All of my other devices work great. I have been through D-Links Tech support all things point back to my router.

The router is connected via ethernet to a dead computer: a 7 year-old Dell desktop that will boot up but shut down right away. I have been able to connect multiple laptops wirelessly to this network. I thought an ethernet connection was required in a home network such as mine? The cable has been plugged into a dead computer for several months and frankly I'd like to get rid of the desktop. What exactly is the ethernet requirement - just to be plugged into a port? Could I theoretically just yank the ethernet card out of the desktop and use it instead of the whole dead system?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I have a Westell 7500 Modem/Router with Century Link DSL. I've been running a couple of laptops and my wifi enabled TV on the wireless. A few days ago I got a new desktop PC (Windows 7) and plugged the ethernet cable into it. Everything was great but the wireless was a bit slow for the TV so I plugged that in with an ethernet cable too. No problems for a few days. Today, we had a power blip and everything reset and I noticed that the internet light on the modem was solid red and I couldn't access the internet on any machine (ethernet or wifi). I called the ISP who said there was an outage in the area. A few hours later, solid green light on the modem BUT the TV (ethernet connected), my iphone, and my laptops could NOT connect, despite the network showing up with a full signal. Oddly, my new PC, connected via ethernet was fine so I played some Diablo (side note). Here's the deal: the new PC connects just fine but nothing else will. If I unplug the ethernet cable to the PC or disable the LAN connection, the red internet light appears on the modem. It seems as though the PC has hijacked the modem in some way. Even the TV won't connect with the ethernet cable. The only way the internet works now is if the modem is connected to the new PC. I've done all the resents - unplugged the modem and let it sit for 10-15 minutes, accessed the router settings, etc etc. Why would this start happening now after everything was working well for several days and how do I fix it? I need the wifi connection! Update: Plugged my Macbook Pro into the ethernet cable (took it out of new PC) and it works.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI thought i would clever and make an extension from my Virgin Superhub via Ethernet to a second pc that is currently using Wireless to improve speed.The amazing thing is the ethernet cable I made up actually seems to work but only when my wireless connection is on. If I disable my wireless to use just the ethernet I get no connection showing!If I click on properties it shows I am connected at 100mbps but I presume this is just the connection between the Hub and the pc although my Internet connection dialog also shows 100mbps.In the Services dialog I can add services which I presume would give me access.I have my ip address but do not know the name of the service I should be running (DCHP?) or the Port numbers.In addition to this there doesn't seem to be a network card appearing in device manager other than the wireless dongle.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy internet speeds are 45 Mbps DL and 1 Mbps UL and my various wireless connections (3 laptops in my household) were achieving speeds anywhere from 25-40 Mbps DL. My router started acting up and wasn't letting anyone connect via wifi so I did a factory reset and set it up the same way I did before (as best as I could), it started working fine again but now the speeds on all the devices that are connecting to at are capped at 18 Mbps. A simple speed test shows that no matter what they won't pass 18 Mbps, I am almost 100% certain this is the router and I was wondering what I might have done wrong or what is causing this.

I reliably get solid connections on our various devices such as the Wii (netflix streaming), a net book, a laptop and Wi-Fi connections on android phones. When I first set up the 930L I thought it was defective because I couldn't get a connection. Until I did it in the same room as the router okay, that worked. But I move 2 rooms over and I no longer connect.
Seriously, I can go a few rooms away and easily stream an HD movie via netflix to my net book. But if I set up the 930L at the exact same location it will not connect. If I move the camera within about 20 feet of the router with only maybe 1 wall between them, it will connect.
At this level of wireless power it is nearly worthless for me. Is my camera defective or are all of them this lower powered?I am running a dlink router, 300N, WPA security. Like I said, I can connect if I'm literally 10 feet away. But any significant distance or anything more than a single wall in between and the router no longer sees the camera. And all other wireless devices have strong, reliable connections all through my house.
Just replaced my SMC Gateway with a Cisco Home Networking Modem, router doesn't see DCS 930 cameras. Working perfect before. I start the wizard, I plug in camera power, plug in ethernet cable for setup, light is green as requested, searches for camera, comes up "No Cameras found". I then start fresh. i get all the way to choosing wireless and input the password. It states that there is a problem saving your settings. I tells me nothing more. I spent 4 hours on the phone with tech support and i can get it working through wired but I can't put it in my childs room wired. it worked perfectly before the router switch. funny thing is that its the same brand and model router.

Wireless enabled, fixed IP address.Unplug cable and camera still works fine for a while: can access the view page and view picture that does change. F5 refreshes page no problems. After a while (about 5 minutes) web page no longer reachable by browser. Reconnect cable and works fine, unplug and repeat the cycle same thing happens.Also tried: unplug ethernet cable, unplug power cable, wait 10 seconds, connect power cable, try to browse to camera - cannot reach camera.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSome time ago the mother-board ethernet card on my Dell Dimension 8400 failed, so I fitted a PCI card, and all was well: The failed card was Broadcom NetExtreme 57xx. The PCI one is Realtek RL8139. I got back onto the web, even though one of the (now two icons) in the system tray has a red cross, and all seemed well.
Recently I wanted to set up a home network with a wireless laptop, and though both machines seem to see each other I cannot connect the PC to the LAN to share files. The Ethernet icon in the tray has a red cross, and gives the pop-up "Not Connected - no connections are available". The Network and Sharing Centre will not let me connect, apparently because it thinks I am connected to a public network, which I cannot change to work or home. but it also has a red cross on the PC to Internet connection. If I run the troubleshooter, it cannot find and fix any problems. In the security settings app, I have set the radio buttons to be able to change the status of networks, and to rename them. If I try to connect from the laptop to the PC, I am asked for a network ID and password, but there is nowhere for me to set this up. I have a wireless dongle, but this gives the same symptoms. I am able to connect to a wireless printer (ethernet cable to router, then wireless to the printer).
I have tried many things, always making sure I have Administrator privileges. I don't know whether the problem is that the PC only sees the faulty modem, or is something to do with the public network status, which I have seen as a problem in many other posts, but none of the solutions have worked. I have uninstalled the faulty modem, but obviously cannot physically remove it, as it is part of the motherboard.

I've just set up a MR3420. It works fine in "WAN only" mode and provides access via our ADSL modem. It also works fine in "3G only" mode and provides access via a Reliance Netconnect+ USB modem (a Huawei E150 I think). I updated the firmware to the latest version in order to get it to work with the USB modem.
The problem I have is that when I set it to "3G preferred" it doesn't seem to connect over 3G. I can see it tries to connect but then fails and then WAN takes over. The connect and disconnect options are greyed out on the 3G page so I am unable to manually get it to retry. I've tried leaving it for a long time but it doesn't seem to connect over 3G ever. I've tried setting 3G to connect on demand and connect automatically but both behave the same.
recently purchased the Wireless N D-Link Router DIR-615. After a few hiccups the router works with all of our computers, blackberry's, wireless printer and Ipod touch's however my Apple TV 1G will not connect to the network. The Apple TV will just give the error code -6 after the password for the network has been entered. I double checked that the password for the router is only WEP 10 hex digits and that it is correct have tried reseting the Apple TV to the factory settings and using the DHCP Reservation in the network settings of the router and manually configuring the TC/IP settings on the Apple TV (Not quite sure what I am doing with this though so put everything back). View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a DIR-655 for my parents after their old router died in a planned power outage. It's a rev. B1 model running the 2.00 firmware. It worked fine initially for a day or two with great wireless coverage, even in the previously low-signal spots in the house.Then the problems started. The router now has trouble loading any website. What you get is instead a page returned from the router saying something along the lines of "network unreachable, please check you internet settings" (I will go there today or tomorrow so I'll update the post with the specific error). Refreshing the page a few times sometimes makes it load, but extremely slow and then the same thing happens again a few moments later. The same thing happens on both wifi and through the router's LAN ports. If I connect a computer directly to the modem it works just fine, as it has always done before getting this router.I have disable QoS, NAT endpoint filtering and the firewall (SPI). I have also set the WAN port speed to 100Mbit/s in the router, to match what the modem is set to (also had issues with the default setting).

However on some days the internet connection on my new laptop that has Intel Centrino Wireless-N 130 network adapter get really terrible (usually on Friday and Saturday). At first I thought that the problem was with provider, but now I find out that my old laptop that does not support 802.11n (only 802.11g) has excellent internet connection (at the same time when the new laptop struggles).
How can I troubleshoot what is causing this problem - the laptop network adapter or the router? Is there some setting for network adapter to force using 802.11g?
My laptop is running Windows 7, if that matters.
After much troubleshooting to connect and stream content from my desktop to my blu-ray player, it only works if my laptop is also connected to the network. I use a Belkin N150 F9K1001v1. I cannot for the life of me figure out why it will stream just fine as long as my laptop is running as well. I am confused if this is an issue with the router or with Windows7 Homegroup (though other share options proved unfruitful).
