I have a Dlink Dir-615 router and a Motorola SB6120 Modem. For some reason the router suddenly says it's receiving internet access from the modem. It has worked for several months beforehand. I tried another Dlink modem and got the same results. I have my computer hooked directly to the modem hence the ability to make this post.

I have a DIR-825 (B) for over a year now. This morning, the wireless on it suddenly stopped working. Meaning, all my machines not longer seeing the signal from that router. If I hardwire to it, it will work fine. I have check the wireless settings and they all look fine.

This has worked perfectly until this last night. No pictures are transferred and upon using the test FTP function the status page just says "Testing ...." forever. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy dlink dir 628 wireless router suddenly stopped working yesterday. If I plug the ethernet cable directly into my computer and the internet works. I see the wireless profile in the options for the wireless internet, but when I try to connect, it is unable to do so.
I've tried resetting the router (using the button on the device) witand reinstalling the router (using the CD), but still not working. Also have tried turning off the modem, router, and restarting my computer.
My M20 Valet Plus stopped working suddenly last night. Now no power lights will come on and it now longer transmitts as a connection point . No apparent sign that it's alive. I've owned it troublefree for just over a year, but it is out of warranty. Any way to tell if there is hope of reviving it or if I'm just out of luck? Nothing happened at my end to cause this -- no power interruptions or other odd occurrences.

Then today my computer shut down and when I turned it back on there was a connection but my computer was not responding to any commands. The icon shows full connectivity excellent connection. When I try to go to a web page it shows Connection Error and cannot get to any web pages.I am able to get on other wireless connections from neighbors but not mine. I have gone thru different directions on here and I am not technical and don't understand what is being said. I try to go to 192.168.1.1 and it asks for a password which I don't have. certain websites couldn't be accessed on any of our devices (mixture of PC's, android and apple devices)After trying everything I could think of and even phoning our internet provider nothing would get the sites to load (Facebook, hotmail to name but two)A friend of mine also said he was having exactly the same problems whereas no one else I know had any problems!.Anyway, after much scratching of head with resetting the router to factory defaults etc the only thing left to test was a direct connection with the modem where all websites worked perfectly!So the problem is 100% the router! Even after a factory restore it still doesn't work with those websites and after talking to my friend it turns out he too has a tp-link router but a different model.
Three nights ago, around 9:30 P.M PST, my wireless connection to my router began constantly dropping every few seconds/minutes. This happens to all of my wireless devices only while I am in my bedroom, nowhere else. In every other room, my connection is stable.

I restarted it and tried to login to the router but failed. I called the support and did a hard reset of the router. After that when I am not able to connect to the router from my computer for configuring it again. When I connected the Router to my computer via LAN cable sometimes the LAN port is glowing and sometimes it is not. I tried different LAN Cables too. But nothing is working and I am not able to get to the router page.

Almost 3 months ago the router stopped working completely and I started to search for support in Uruguay.After calling US support I was told I should contact the local or regional D-Link (which I later found is D-Link LA). And via DLinkLA.com I found the company TELEDATA S.A. url... who does the official support for D-Link in Uruguay. They told me the router couldn't be fixed, and told me DLinkLA, which is based in Chile, would either send me a working one (they also told me the service/warrany was already approved), or send me the money and gave me their contact details.After two weeks of contacting them, trying to get their attention, they finally told me it was not their responsibility because it was bought in the US. I bought a TP-Link TL-WR740R Router, the setup went smoothly, I could connect to the internet and set up WiFi connection. But after a few hours, I accidentally unplugged the Ethernet cable from the router, and since then, I can't seem to make the router work. (I obviously plugged it back in.) Setup says I have a problem with the WAN connection.I tried rebooting, resting, reconfiguring, cloning the MAC address.The router is sending packages, but receiving none. How could this happen just by unplugging the cable for a second?
Well, I have a WRT120N Router for 11 months to now. I never had a problem with the Router, but since 2 days ago, It didnt connect to the internet.
My network is: Internet > Cable Modem > WRT120N > Computers
As I said, the problem is that the Router doesnt has Internet Connection.
Things to take in consideration: The Cable MODEM ISN'T the problem Because if i connect the modem directly to a computer, I have Internet connection without problems.I Diconnected and Connected both Modem and Router in several ways and several times, and it doesnt work.I also tryed clonning my PCs MAC address to the Router and it was the same.The Router Indeed receives the External IP Address from the Modem, and also, it changes if i restart the modem (as my ISP IP is DHCP). But there is NO internet conection.The Router had the 1.0.05 Firmware, and i upgraded to 1.0.06, and the problem persists. Another thing to take in account is that if I turn off my modem and the I turn it On, sometimes, the router receives Internet connection, but in matter of Seconds (minutes as much), the internet connection falls.
This is NOT an ISP problem, because as I said, if I connect the Modem Directly to any PC, i have a perfectly normal Internet Connection, And also, I called my ISP and they Said me that there werent any problem on their network.
I have also tryed with the "Router Dianostics" (the Ping and Traceroute options that are in the Router's Webend and also, no conection. So its NOT a Cables problem.
I have a Linksys E1000 router just upgrade to the latest 2.1.0.2 firmware...I have a PPPoE connection which used to run smoothly on the router..however off late...suddenly the router stopped connecting..it always shows "connecting" in the status tab of the router page...and eventually says failed to obtain IP address...however when I attach the cable directly into my PC it works just fine.I also had a word with my internet provider...he's kept the MAC open (or something like that) so he said that isn't the issue and he keeps saying there must be some issue with the router. However, occasionally the router DOES connect for half hour or so and then just refuses to connect again !..

I was running Firmware 1.21, tried rebooting, resetting to factory, powered off the unit, etc. without success. Decided to Upgrade to the firmware to 135 NA, still no success. I am in British Columbia on Shaw Cable. On the Status Page under Wireless LAN, the Wireless Radio shows "Init failed".

I went into a couple of online games (Bad Company 2 and World of Tanks) and would have a low ping showing in the game, but every 10-15 seconds, especially in areas with a lot of action, I would get large amounts of lag, making the games unplayable.I would be unable to move or keep getting 'teleported' back 20 feet. I looked into it maybe being the servers, steam in the case of bad company, or my internet provider, but regular internet actions are not affected at all. After searching for a while tweaking settings, turning off antivirus and firewalls, it made no difference.I finally today plugged my modem directly into my pc instead of leaving it on wireless, and all the problems go away. All packet tests and connection tests to my router have come back with no errors. Again, I have never had a problem just browsing the web or watching videos, and usually get more speed on speedtest.net than my provider even advertises. I also upgraded the router firmware.I tried going into my router settings and doing all I could (as I understand it) to have exceptions, port forward, and even did the one thing (can't remember what it's called) where you add one ip address that will have no limitations put on it by the router, and none of this has made it work.

Recovery mode has not done anything. Computer acts like nothing is connected through Ethernet, says "No Cable Connected." Only power light stays on the whole time. I am guessing this thing is broken now. when i go through ipconfig, "no media connected." If not whats a good router under a hundred bucks today, had this router since early 2007.

I have been able to use the Wi-Fi several times since I received the Kindle, but there have now been two failures to connect. The first time I just unplugged the router power and connections, restarted the modem, and rebooted my computer. The Wi-Fi then worked. Now I am experiencing a failure to connect again.
I have noticed that when I restart my computer I have to connect to the internet directly by pulling the cable from the router and putting it from the modem to the computer. This seems to teach the router what it is supposed to do, because when I reconnect the modem to the router the internet starts to work immediately.I have tried changing the password to wireless internet, but my Kindle still will no longer connect. Select it and it should ask you for a password, enter the password you gave in the router. The only problem is that my modem does not exactly say "mixed G and N".

after year and a half of using TL-WR741 ND router, it suddenly stop working during the night. I have no problems with router before this happened (I think only one or two reset in 1 year and 6 months). System led light does not flash (some sytem error) and I can't access to 192.168.1.1 router setup site. I tried almost everything, unplug power, reset etc. for almost 100 times, reconnect the router with modem and PC in all posible ways, but still can't establish connection or even access to router's setup. Obviusly internet works fine?
I was changing the port forwarding configuration when suddenly the router stopped working, and now the "D-Link" light is constantly on, and the power light and the 4 LAN lights are flashing. Nothing worked, resetting, or unplug and plug again in a short time.
I disconnected it for 12 hours, and when I plugged in again, it kinda worked, and the settings where factory defaults, so when I tried to connect it to DSL via PPoE, when ( I believe ) it reboots to accept the changes, it starting flashing again and completely stopped working.
So I waited 12 hours more unplugged, plugged it and it worked, and the setting from 12 hours earlier were still there. But when trying to connect to the DSL it stopped working AGAIN.
Now I don't know what to do. I guess I am going to keep trying connecting with little differences, until something.
I believe it still has warranty but since the is no official service in Uruguay, it isn't economically viable to send it overseas.
I am currently connected directly to the DSL, sharing connection to other computers through a switch and hosting an ad-hoc wireless network, but the performance is terrible and the wireless range is minimal.
I was working on the computer and internet just stopped, checked the router and it doesn't show up in air-port pref on my Macbook Pro anymore. It was still on my iPhone, and then a few minutes later disappeared from my iPhones network as well. I've tried hard resetting etc, network name doesn't show up anymore, on ethernet to the modem now but tad uncomfortable sitting on the living room since I have the router and modem in my entertainment center.
All the lights work fine, and it lights up like normal but network went "poof".
Typing in ip of 192.168.0.1 just says google chrome cannot connect to that page. I had to play with my Mac for awhile as it wouldn't connect by ethernet till I figured out I had to uncheck passive FTP from Proxies.
