My DIR-655 wireless has stopped working after a few years of flawless operation. It still works for wired operation. I was running Firmware 1.21, tried rebooting, resetting to factory, powered off the unit, etc. without success. Decided to Upgrade to the firmware to 135 NA, still no success. I am in British Columbia on Shaw Cable. On the Status Page under Wireless LAN, the Wireless Radio shows "Init failed".
View 3 RepliesI have a DIR-825 (B) for over a year now. This morning, the wireless on it suddenly stopped working. Meaning, all my machines not longer seeing the signal from that router. If I hardwire to it, it will work fine. I have check the wireless settings and they all look fine.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe other day I went to a friends house, came back home, booted up my PC, and my wireless network adapter wasn't working. I've tried everything to fix it.It's a D-Link DWA-525 802.11n Wireless PCI netowrk adapter. On device manager it just says 802.11 Wireless LAN Card with a yellow exclamation next to it. And when I check what the error is, it's either error 31 or 52 at different times, depending what I've tried to do to fix it.I tried downloading the driver for it off the D-Link website, nothing happens at all when I install it. I tried taking it out of my computer and plugging it in. I tried enabling it and disabling it on device manager.I noticed one thing, when it's in my computer the green light at the back that says activity next to it isn't on.

I bought a TP-Link TL-WR740R Router, the setup went smoothly, I could connect to the internet and set up WiFi connection. But after a few hours, I accidentally unplugged the Ethernet cable from the router, and since then, I can't seem to make the router work. (I obviously plugged it back in.) Setup says I have a problem with the WAN connection.I tried rebooting, resting, reconfiguring, cloning the MAC address.The router is sending packages, but receiving none. How could this happen just by unplugging the cable for a second?
I have been using a d-link router for some time now and since yesterday it has stopped working ( I have an orange 'world' light on all the time) After looking around this site I have tried resetting etc and nothing works. If I plug the ethernet cable into the modem I can get on the internet if I plug the cable into the router then nothing. These are the details I got from the config all when I plugged the ethernet into the router.

I have one computer wired directly in to it and a few laptops that use wireless connections.The power LED and the internet LED light up, but the status LED and the WLAN LED do nothing. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had the dir655 for about a year now, and no problems at all, until about a week ago. I went into a couple of online games (Bad Company 2 and World of Tanks) and would have a low ping showing in the game, but every 10-15 seconds, especially in areas with a lot of action, I would get large amounts of lag, making the games unplayable.I would be unable to move or keep getting 'teleported' back 20 feet. I looked into it maybe being the servers, steam in the case of bad company, or my internet provider, but regular internet actions are not affected at all. After searching for a while tweaking settings, turning off antivirus and firewalls, it made no difference.I finally today plugged my modem directly into my pc instead of leaving it on wireless, and all the problems go away. All packet tests and connection tests to my router have come back with no errors. Again, I have never had a problem just browsing the web or watching videos, and usually get more speed on speedtest.net than my provider even advertises. I also upgraded the router firmware.I tried going into my router settings and doing all I could (as I understand it) to have exceptions, port forward, and even did the one thing (can't remember what it's called) where you add one ip address that will have no limitations put on it by the router, and none of this has made it work.

I have tried resetting it with no luck. I am able to get internet try to get onto on my desktop without the router.I have tried to connect to 192.168.0.1 it won't let me. I've reinstalled the drivers and still it doesn't turn on. In device manager there is a yellow exclamation mark next to it and when i click on properties it says code 10. I used it on my laptop and it turns on but when i plug it in my desktop it doesn't seem to turn on.

Almost 3 months ago the router stopped working completely and I started to search for support in Uruguay.After calling US support I was told I should contact the local or regional D-Link (which I later found is D-Link LA). And via DLinkLA.com I found the company TELEDATA S.A. url... who does the official support for D-Link in Uruguay. They told me the router couldn't be fixed, and told me DLinkLA, which is based in Chile, would either send me a working one (they also told me the service/warrany was already approved), or send me the money and gave me their contact details.After two weeks of contacting them, trying to get their attention, they finally told me it was not their responsibility because it was bought in the US. And now they don't return my e-mails.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy DIR-655 stopped working after updating firmware to 3.35. Only power light comes on. port4 flashes for a microsecond when I plug it in. Recovery mode has not done anything. Computer acts like nothing is connected through Ethernet, says "No Cable Connected." Only power light stays on the whole time. I am guessing this thing is broken now. when i go through ipconfig, "no media connected." If not whats a good router under a hundred bucks today, had this router since early 2007.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI originally bought the 615 router because my Net Talk telephone required it. The first Wi-Fi device I used is my Kindle Touch. I have been able to use the Wi-Fi several times since I received the Kindle, but there have now been two failures to connect. The first time I just unplugged the router power and connections, restarted the modem, and rebooted my computer. The Wi-Fi then worked. Now I am experiencing a failure to connect again.
I have noticed that when I restart my computer I have to connect to the internet directly by pulling the cable from the router and putting it from the modem to the computer. This seems to teach the router what it is supposed to do, because when I reconnect the modem to the router the internet starts to work immediately.I have tried changing the password to wireless internet, but my Kindle still will no longer connect. The router is about two years old. [code]No go to the devices and check to see if you see the new SSID name you gave in the router. I should be listed there. Select it and it should ask you for a password, enter the password you gave in the router. The only problem is that my modem does not exactly say "mixed G and N".
I was changing the port forwarding configuration when suddenly the router stopped working, and now the "D-Link" light is constantly on, and the power light and the 4 LAN lights are flashing. Nothing worked, resetting, or unplug and plug again in a short time.
I disconnected it for 12 hours, and when I plugged in again, it kinda worked, and the settings where factory defaults, so when I tried to connect it to DSL via PPoE, when ( I believe ) it reboots to accept the changes, it starting flashing again and completely stopped working.
So I waited 12 hours more unplugged, plugged it and it worked, and the setting from 12 hours earlier were still there. But when trying to connect to the DSL it stopped working AGAIN.
Now I don't know what to do. I guess I am going to keep trying connecting with little differences, until something.
I believe it still has warranty but since the is no official service in Uruguay, it isn't economically viable to send it overseas.
I am currently connected directly to the DSL, sharing connection to other computers through a switch and hosting an ad-hoc wireless network, but the performance is terrible and the wireless range is minimal.
I have had a setup in which my four DCS-930Ls transfer picture every 15 minutes over a Dovado-router connected to a mobile broadband modem. This has worked perfectly until this last night. No pictures are transferred and upon using the test FTP function the status page just says "Testing ...." forever. I've also tested e-mailing picture without success.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was working on the computer and internet just stopped, checked the router and it doesn't show up in air-port pref on my Macbook Pro anymore. It was still on my iPhone, and then a few minutes later disappeared from my iPhones network as well. I've tried hard resetting etc, network name doesn't show up anymore, on ethernet to the modem now but tad uncomfortable sitting on the living room since I have the router and modem in my entertainment center.
All the lights work fine, and it lights up like normal but network went "poof".
Typing in ip of 192.168.0.1 just says google chrome cannot connect to that page. I had to play with my Mac for awhile as it wouldn't connect by ethernet till I figured out I had to uncheck passive FTP from Proxies.
I have a DLink DIR-615 rev. B2 firmware 2.25. A few days ago, I started using Comodo Unite for VPN access with friends and LAN gaming. However, just recently the program stopped working correctly. I have reset my configuration, tried multiple different settings, and nothing at all has remotely worked.

I used another computer to hook up with the ethernet cable because that wouldn't work wireless for some reason. A little while after that, the Linksys network stopped working completely(all three computers could not access the internet). Now I can only connect to the internet if I use a ethernet cable from the modem.

Last year all of a sudden my wireless internet stopped working and had to use a cable to connect to my router. It will pick up the signal intermittently but produce painfully slow internet and then promptly lose the signal all together. The wireless connection is working perfectly on laptops and smart phones, even when in the same position from the router as my PC.

I no longer saw my router listed in my available wireless networks, and neither could my girlfriend from her computer. I unplugged the router to see if one of the available networks had disappeared in case my router had somehow been reset, and nothing changed so my computer isnt even seeing my router. Right now, I am wired through the router so I know the router works, but the wireless part doesnt for some reason. I was looking up stuff in the FAQ, and think the firmware is corrupted since the LEDs are all blinking. I was trying to update my firmware following the instructions I found using tftp.exe, however it failed. One problem is that I can't set up a static IP address since I need to access the web-based utility to check my DNS server but I cannot access the web-based utility anymore (maybe cause of the corrupted firmware?). On a related note, there is someone else in my building using a linksys with the default network name of linksys. I had changed my network's name and security-protected it, though that is all likely gone now since I tried to reset the router. My question is what will the network name of my router be if I saw it since "linksys" is already taken. or will there just be two of them?
