why my wireless does not appear anymore on my laptop? Also the Fn sticky key F8 does not show up. I did an upgrade from windows vista to windows7, and than I downloaded the toshiba Service Pack, so i've got the sticky keys back, but not F8 one.
View 2 Repliesmy wireless connection has stopped working and won't repair itself.I have uninstalled it and rebooted my laptop (as suggested in a previous thread) but it's still not working. I have a Toshiba Satallite Pro L300 laptop.I went to the Toshiba site to find a download for the wireless adaptor but couldn't even find my model number on their system. I can get on the internet by plugging directly to the modem, and my internet provider suggests it must be the adaptor. I'm too scared to randomly download stuff from internet in case it is rubbish and mucks up my computer.

Other computers in the house have no problem detecting and connecting.Wireless is enabled, it happens no matter how close or far from the router. The network is set to broadcast the ssid, etc. I have not changed any settings on my laptop or router, this has suddenly started happening. Have updated drivers to no effect.Occasionally, the network pops up when I re-start the laptop. Rarely works and sometimes it will detect the network, then fail to connect, then the network can't be detected at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy daughter has a Tobisha laptop with Windows 7 working off a cable modem wireless thru a Linksys Cisco router. It all has been working fine for months until yesterday she cannot connect to router. I unplugged router and modem for a minute, replugged modem then router back in and laptop still will not connect to router. I can connect to internet if don't use router and connect from modem to laptop. I do not think anything is wrong with her router or any plug-in connections because I have no problem connecting to her router with my own laptop or my wifes laptop! I have a Dell ( VISTA ) and a Dell ( XP ). I'm thinking maybe wirless card in my daughter's Tobisha could be the problem?

It was working perfect, I did a wired connection from the modem to the desktop and when I tried to get the wireless connection again it has not been possible. I was running Firmware 1.21, tried rebooting, resetting to factory, powered off the unit, etc. without success. Decided to Upgrade to the firmware to 135 NA, still no success. I am in British Columbia on Shaw Cable. On the Status Page under Wireless LAN, the Wireless Radio shows "Init failed".

View 6 Replies View RelatedI checked what she needed, updated her drivers for Ethernet and Wireless, and the Device Manager is stating that they are both working fine. (no ! or ? on them)When I plug in an ethernet cable it works fine. It gets connection pretty well through my BT Infinity modem.However the wireless will not pick up any connections at all. I attempted troubleshooting, and all it says, "Your network adapter is experiencing problems" etc.I thought that I may need to turn on Wireless Association on the modem, but that didn't work. My dads laptop is also a Windows 7 Laptop and that works fine and will bring up all connections in the area, including mine.
So I googled around, and I found that I may need to turn on a wireless switch. After looking around the laptop, I noticed two things. 1) There is no wireless switch, and 2) There is an orange light above the WIFI symbol.So I googled around a bit more, and found it might be turned off in the FN+f8 Flash card feature. At first I couldn't actually bring this up, so I reinstalled the flash card, and it began to work. It claims the wireless connection is "On".I am not sure what to do next. I have checked the services to make sure WLAN Autoconfig is on Automatic, and Started, and it is. I also tried disabling, then enabling both ethernet, and wireless connections, which did nothing.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D laptop. The internet works fine when it's connected with a LAN cable. With the wireless however, the laptop connects successfully but there is no internet connection. I have had this problem previously, but it was solved when I updated the Atheros driver. However, I have just moved to a new place and the same thing has happened again! [code]

I pressed what I though was the WSL button and now my router doesn't work. I has three lights lit up, the power on light, a small green blinking light and an amber light by the number 1.I've gone to the Netgear website and they want $69 for assistance to get my router up and running. I can buy a new router for that much money. There has to be an easier way.

I used another computer to hook up with the ethernet cable because that wouldn't work wireless for some reason. A little while after that, the Linksys network stopped working completely(all three computers could not access the internet). Now I can only connect to the internet if I use a ethernet cable from the modem.

Last year all of a sudden my wireless internet stopped working and had to use a cable to connect to my router. A few months went by and i randomly got my wireless internet connection back for about 2-3 months now all of a sudden my wireless is out again. i ran tests in other threads posted on this subject and the only way they got it to work was to buy a usb connection. is this the only way im going to be able to get wireless back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy dlink dir 628 wireless router suddenly stopped working yesterday. If I plug the ethernet cable directly into my computer and the internet works. I see the wireless profile in the options for the wireless internet, but when I try to connect, it is unable to do so.
I've tried resetting the router (using the button on the device) witand reinstalling the router (using the CD), but still not working. Also have tried turning off the modem, router, and restarting my computer.
My internet went down temporarily last week and ever since my computer has not been able to maintain a connection. It will pick up the signal intermittently but produce painfully slow internet and then promptly lose the signal all together. The wireless connection is working perfectly on laptops and smart phones, even when in the same position from the router as my PC.

I no longer saw my router listed in my available wireless networks, and neither could my girlfriend from her computer. I unplugged the router to see if one of the available networks had disappeared in case my router had somehow been reset, and nothing changed so my computer isnt even seeing my router. Right now, I am wired through the router so I know the router works, but the wireless part doesnt for some reason. I was looking up stuff in the FAQ, and think the firmware is corrupted since the LEDs are all blinking. I was trying to update my firmware following the instructions I found using tftp.exe, however it failed. One problem is that I can't set up a static IP address since I need to access the web-based utility to check my DNS server but I cannot access the web-based utility anymore (maybe cause of the corrupted firmware?). On a related note, there is someone else in my building using a linksys with the default network name of linksys. I had changed my network's name and security-protected it, though that is all likely gone now since I tried to reset the router. My question is what will the network name of my router be if I saw it since "linksys" is already taken. or will there just be two of them?

Came home after work last night and couldn't connect to the internet. Called Charter cable this morning and their troubleshooting showed I can connect to the internet fine if I bypass the router, so the issue must be with the router (and of course not their problem...). How do I trouble shoot this? I've tried powering down the router and releasing and renewing IP addresses but it hasn't worked.

It wouldn't make that much of a difference, but I already purchased a new LInksys Cisco EA3500, but I cannot get it to do my port forwarding. I have tried everything and nothing works. Have spent hours on the phone with tech support with no solution. My old WRT54GS just simply worked. The port forwarding worked perfect. I have tried the exact same setup in the new EA3500 and no luck no matter what I try.
So, is there anything I can do to get the old WRT54GS working? I have tried holding the reset button in for 1 minute and then unplugging it

I have a Dell Studio 1537 running on Windows Vista? my computer stopped being able to connect to the internet a few days ago and a "Dell Wireless WLAN Controller closed and stopped working" (or something along those lines) box would keep on popping up. I did some reading around on the internet and decided that maybe I needed to update the "drivers" for it so I went to the Dell website and downloaded the most recent version for my Dell Wireless 1510 WLAN mini card...that didn't seem to work any after I installed it. So I went ahead and uninstalled it (I assume I must have uninstalled something I shouldn't have) and now I'm stuck at the same problem. I can't connect to the internet!In Network Connections, it continually says that "Windows cannot find any networks". In Device Manager, under Network Adapters, it doesn't list the card there, although it lists "Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet". And from some suggestions I found on the net, I tried ipconfig/all in the comand promt and it says "media disconnected".

I have 3 laptops connected wirelessly and 2 pc's running wired (through homeplug system) plus TV, PS3 and ipods, all have run without issues.
All of a sudden 2 days ago all wireless connectivity stopped? SSID is still broadcasting and viewable but I can no longer connect with any computer or device. Wired connectivity is working fine.
I've checked security settings, turned off encryption, reset factory defaults, re-downloaded latest firmware and reflashed with no luck. As I said wirless stopped working all of a sudden with no changes to settings.
I have the Linksys WRT54G And it was working fine for years! Then today my computer shut down and when I turned it back on there was a connection but my computer was not responding to any commands. The icon shows full connectivity excellent connection. When I try to go to a web page it shows Connection Error and cannot get to any web pages.I am able to get on other wireless connections from neighbors but not mine. I have gone thru different directions on here and I am not technical and don't understand what is being said. I try to go to 192.168.1.1 and it asks for a password which I don't have. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a inspiron 1525 and 9 times out of 10 when I start up the computer I get the message "Dell wireless WLAN card wireless network tray applet has stopped working". When this happens I can still get on the internet. But I can't scroll the screen using the touchpad. Dell installed a new touchpad and that worked for about one day. I hooked up with them online twice and one tech updated the touchpad driver and another said it was my avast software that causes the problem, I say no way, because it worked for 6 months before this problem started.
