View 2 Replies View Relatedit is possible to get an USB port connected, im hoping there is a trace drawn on the pcb from J1 and J2 from the Ralink BGA chip, making a simpler connection from the chip as reballing and making custom connections from that is quite bothersome if not impossible for a private person with regular tools. What i have is a DIR-600 B2.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhere can I download firmware? I've been trying to get it through the official site and downloads page, but everytime I click download, then click 'open' there's absolutely nothing in the zip folder (0 bytes).Specifically, I'm looking for the D1 4.11 firmware. It's the one I've been using for about 2 years until needing to reset my router today. And as I forgot how to Hard Reset, I accidently reset everything deleting the firmware too, and I really need the D1 4.11 firmware back as it gave me no issues for 2 years!
View 14 Replies View RelatedI just bought this router. Unfortunately I'm losing close to 3mpbs !
When I was connected directly to the modem i had a little over 12.5 Mbps
Now I'm stuck at 9.5mbps and it won't go higher!
I read a bit over the forum. I tried turning off the QOS but it didn't change a thing.
Here a little extra information;
My internet provider is Cogeco
MY computer is wired
I tried 2 internet tester, both give me the exact same result
I need download LMS 4.0 eval trial. But i can't see any link down on url...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my d-link 615 a few days ago and managed to connect it to my network and so on but I have a problem when it comes to my download speed. My usual speed is somewhere between 7.5-8 mb/s but when I have the router installed it's limited to 5 mb/s. Do you know why this might be happening?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm paying to get Download Speeds of 25Mbps from my cable provider.
If I plug my computer directly into my cable modem, I get 24.98 Mbps every time.
Using the same speed test, if I go through the DIR-655 I get rates from 2.92 to 10 Mbps.
I'm on Firmware 1.32NA. I'm ready to go out and buy a different brand Router.
Just bought a new DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router 3 days ago. Have 5MB fiber and consistently receive 4.7-5.0MB when connected directly to my laptop (windows XP, Dell wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-card, 802.11g only). I followed the CD instruction to set up the router and when connected wirelessly I consistently get 2.4 - 2.7 MB. When I connect a cable from the router to my laptop, I get the 4.7 - 5.0MB that I get when connected directly. I've tried a second laptop (Vista, 802.11g only) and when connected wirelessly I get 4.7-5.0 MB. A friend of mine who has a laptop (Windows 7, g/n) also connected at 4.7-5.0 MB.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possable to limit the download/upload speeds of a wireless computer on this router, the reason is i am at home working on files from my office computer and my son gets home, and starts downloading massive amounts of music an other ****, and i get disconnected to the office computer, and have to start from scratch again. I just want to limit his speed to maybe 25% of the max internet connection.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a DSL connection with AT&T. It is rated at 6Mbps / 768Kbps, but it closer to 4Mbps / 600Kbps. I have a speed stream 5360 connected to the DIR655. Devices on my network are primarily wireless and include; several laptops, a desktop (which is wireless n), a couple phones / Ipods and a Wii that I watch Netflix on.
I do a lot of Photography and a handful of video work, and backup / share everything online. When I am uploading photos, even with "conserve bandwidth" turned on in the uploading application, browsing sites is very slow, but reasonably functional. If I try to upload a video to YouTube, I can barely manage to do anything else the entire time it is uploading. I've tried to plan and run all my uploads overnight, but then Netflix is unusable when I want to watch it at night.
I've tried several different things, first off, with getting the Wii to function for Netflix, I turned on the QOS engine, for the IP that is assigned to it, and set it to priority 1 for all ports. I also have a entry in the QOS engine for SSH on port 23 with a priority of 10 because of how laggy my SSH sessions are. I do not have any other entries in the QOS engine, is that a problem? Should there be entries that cover other services and assign them a lower priority?
I have enable traffic shaping and Automatic uplink speed turned on. It measured the uplink speed at 695kbps, which is pretty accurate. I have Automatic Classification off, and Dynamic Fragmentation on. WISH is enabled also. I'm set to mixed n, g, and b, I'm not positive, but I do think my older laptops only use wireless b.
Even more importantly than the Netflix would be to allow me to use the Internet in a functional manner while I am uploading, that would solve a lot of problems. It seems that the uploads just hog every last bit of upload bandwidth and don't want to make room for even the small requests that one needs to send to view a web page.
When I connect directly to my dsl modem, I am getting better than 5 megabits/sec. which is what I should be getting for download speed. When connected thru the router, I am getting about half of that.My wireless connection speed is 54 megabits/sec, so that is ok. I cannot get any connection when I hardwire the connection from the pc to the router too.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I bypassed the router and connect my pc to the cable modem directly, my download and upload speeds are over 20mbps/10mbps. But when I connect my cable modem with the router, it reduced dramatically to under 10mbps/5mbps.So the bottleneck is with the router. How can I troubleshoot the router to remove this bottleneck?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had my Dir-655 router for over a year & this is is a first. My firmware is 1.21 & I only use my router for gaming when I'm not on my PC for home use. I have only one PC in the house that is not shared, I have also not downloaded any virus or maleware. So the past month I decided to buy a wired ethernet cord to connect to my gaming systems rather than using the wireless option to get an extra bit of speed. That has been working fine up till yesterday when all of a sudden my download speeds dropped from around 20Mb down to barely 1Mb down (I can't even get the speed test site to fully load anymore). The upload & ping remains unchanged though. Only my Download speed is being affected. This is both when I'm on the PC & when I'm online gaming.
I unplugged my D-Link router & plugged my modem directly to my PC & I got back the 20+Mb speed, so the modem or cable company are not at fault (I even called them to see if there were any problems on there end).
-I tried turning off my Firewall on my PC.
-Resetting & rebooting both my modem/router/PC.
-using different DNS numbers.
-using /flushdns.
-using /Iprenew.
-Messing around with my router configurations such as:
turning off QoS Engine.
turning off wireless.
turned of MAC filtering.
unchecked "Add DHCP Reservation".
unchecked SIP.
None of it worked. I'm still browsing at around 56k dial up speed for the past day+!I read up on the internet for similar problems, but the only solutions I saw was turning off the firewall on the PC, but that hasn't worked at all.
Router:Dir-655 (Hardware Ver B1;Firmware Ver 2.01Na)
Modem: Motrola SB6120
Cables: Cat 6
Machines: 1. XP SP3 w/d-link DGE-530T desktop; 2. XP Pro SP3 w/dlink DGE-530T desktop; 3. Win7 64 (Latest Drivers)
Problem is that the XP machines can download 25Mbsp on speedtest.net but the Win 7 only manages 5Mbps through dir-655 -- ALL WIRED CONNECTS!. Connect Win 7 directly to modem and d/l is 30Mbps 2 hour Netflex test of wireless indicates good performance. D-Link support had me going in circles for a while until I finally suggested that a firmware update was in order. They assured me that this had been id'd as a problem and that latest firmwire would certainly solve it. It did not.
I'm currently subscribed to Comcast's 22/5 Internet service. Internet upload speeds on both wired and wireless are about the same at ~ 5 Mbps. Wireless download speeds range from .5-3 Mbps. Wired or Wireless, I receive LAN speeds of ~32 Mbps or 3-4 MB/s. The noticeable issue is wireless internet download speed. I have tried every configuration possible with my router, updated drivers on devices, firmware and tested everything I could on all PCs, and even used the XBOX 360's media extender network tuning feature as a tool in my investigation to find this bottleneck. All reports point to internet download speed. Again, general LAN and internet upload speeds relatively meet expectations. The wired download speeds are slow at times, but consistently meet expectations.
My current Setup:
Wifi
A4 1.33NA
WPA2 Only - Personal
802.11 Mode : 802.11n only
Channel Width : 40MHz
Channel : 1

I have recently acquired a network connection of 100Mbps download and upload, and a dir 615 with dd-wrt.
I made all the connections and configurations , and everything seems to work fine it says it's connected at 300 mbps wifi, except it is not . I tested the internet speed and got this :
80 mbps Upload
35 mbps Download
I know that connecting via wifi will loose bandwith, the problem ins't that, I just cant seem to find the cause for the download rate to be less than upload and not equal... , when connected to the cable I get a stable 100/100.
I've been searching in google on how to block IDM in my router D-Link DIR-655, i need to block this application because we have a large network here in our office, and i found out mostly of our users when i check have a IDM installed in thier pc and its affecting our internet connection.

My normal FTP download speed is 1-2 GB/Sec but downloading from the routers USB port only gives 200KB/Sec. How to improve the server speed? Another question: How many users can log in/download at the same time?
So I have a docsis 3 modem and I have been running PERFECTLY before i decided to upgrade my 655's fw. silly me right? well i cant tell you what i was running previously but i downloaded the latest from d-links site and now ever since my newgroups downloads speeds have dropped from 3-7MB/s to a steady 400-600kb/s.
I have tried everything using different ports and server ip for newsgroup. I have DMZed my ip i have switch wan ports. QOS off. all traffic shaping off. what kills me is that sometimes through the router itll give me my usual regular amazing speed but most of the time NOT. As soon as i remove the router out of the equation i get my speeds no question asked ( yes direct connect to router not wireless).
My younger brother uses IDM to download files and it slows my Internet down to a crawl. I've tried reasoning with him but its not getting through to him. Is there any way I can use my router (bcz only I have access to it) to limit IDM?

I just bought a v3 TD-W8960N and I'm trying to see what is the latest firmware available? On the modem it came with 1.4.0 Build 111130 Rel.56405n.When I look on the website the listed latest version is w8960nv1_un_1_4_0_111108R40398.up (that is the file inside the zip package/link TD-W8960N_V1_V3_111108)Which is the newer version? The revision number on the firmware that came installed kind of looks like it is actually newer. But if it is newer, why is not available for download from TP-Link?
is there a link to directly download the EA4500 firmware?

my Wi-fi card is an Intel Centrino 130N. When I connect to the Internet directly, the speeds I get are: DL: 11 MBs and UL: 9 MBs. (I know the difference between MB and Mbits). Although, when I'm connected through wireless, I get: DL: 3.4 MBs and UL: 4.7 MBs.how do I get my DL speed to be higher than the UL speed in wireless mode ? I read somewhere I have to disable QoS and WMM, but I simply can't find that option in the router's settings. even if I am in the same room as my router, when I check the status of the wireless connection, the maximum speed is 72 mbps. Should that be 130 mbps, as I run it in N mode, not G? How to improve that ? I have Win 7 and all the latest drivers and everything.
