DDW3611 - Playstation 3 And Xbox 360 Disconnecting?
Jan 31, 2012
I have a UBEE modem/wireless router part number DDW3611
With either console it will start off connected than anywhere from 5-30 minutes later it will disconnect from the internet and not reconnect until the system has been restarted. I have tried disabling media streaming as mentioned in a previous post but this had no effect.
I have access to the router and am able to change settings although I don't know what I would change to fix this.

I got threatened by a few people for being good and my xbox live has been disconnecting a lot today and i've been unable to finish a game. then I looked into my router settings and saw this... 79 TCP- or UDP-based Port Scan So that means 79 times it did that, which is weird when you look at the rest of the router numbers.

I've been trying to play Final Fantasy XI on my XBox 360 through this router. I have the latest firmware available. According to FF's tech support I need to port forward TCP and UDP 50000 through 65535. I've done this numerous times on my own and twice through D-Link support and am still getting disconnected. The game plays fine when it's connected directly to the modem, but as I'm not the only person in the house this isn't really an option.

Recently my xbox live connection, which is bridged through my desktop, has been disconnecting about every 10 minutes of online gameplay. Now i want to give as much information possible for the sake of everyone else. Previously when i was running the bridged connection, everything was fine. My old set up was as follows: The computer in my home office is a dell Inspiron 620. The high speed modem it's connected to is a motorola 2210- 02. Then I ran a Netgear Wireless G router (WGR614V10) which all the wireless electronics connect to. The computer in my room is a HP Compaq Presario PC (SR5807C) which connected to the wireless router using a Netgear WPN111V3 wireless USB adapter. From there I ran an ethernet cable from my Xbox 360 into the ethernet port in the back of my PC and bridged the connections. This setup was brutally effective for about 2 years. One day my wireless adapter, connected to the HP Compaq burnt out. This is when the problems began. I replaced it with a Netgear N300 Wireless USB adapter, and the HP Compaq Presario connects to the wireless router just fine and never loses connection. But when I bridged the connections between the computer and the Xbox 360, my xbox live began to go out.... ALL THE TIME.... All the of the above information remains the same except for the new wireless USB adapter (N300). I've tried everthing from restarting the computer, resetting all settings to default (both the 360 and the wireless settings on my computer), port forwarding and triggering by microsoft xbox live recommendations and anything in between. I would have figured with the newer USB adapter my live should be working better but every 10 minutes it disconnects me from xbox live. (When I get disconnected from live, the computer, from what I can tell, remains connected while the bridge encounters all the issues) At the same time apps like netflix and youtube work fine all day and I never get disconnected, only when I'm gaming (COD MW3, Halo Reach, etc.).

I just got set up with time warner, and the modem they gave me (Ubee DDW3611) also has a built in router. I already have an Asus RT-N15 running DD-WRT, and this is what I want to use as my router.
If I connect the Asus router to the Ubee router, is my Asus router going to take control? It appears as though it's handeling DCHP, but what about things like port forwarding? Am I going to run into trouble by having both routers? Is there any settings I should make in the Ubee router, or just leave it be?

How to I find out what ports my Playstation 3 uses for online gaming? Im sure i could search online and find out but im saying how do those websites find their information? For example, even if it doesn't, let's assume Playstation Network uses port 250. How would I manually find this out? And once I find this out, how do I find out what ports any particular game uses? This way I can forward all of these ports in my router. Also, am I correct in assuming that I could simply skip all of this port forwarding and just assign my Playstation 3 a static IP address and place it in my router's DMZ, thus forwarding ALL ports to my Playstation 3? my roommate has an Xbox and plays on Xbox Live. We own 2 routers. Is there any way I can connect 2 routers to my cable modem so that 1 router can be dedicated for my Playstation 3 while the other router can be dedicated for my roommate's Xbox?

We had 1.5 Mbps, but we just upgraded to 8 Mbps. Right away we noticed that we couldn't connect to the Playstation network on the PS3, and loading Google would take several tries. In some cases you couldn't even refresh the page to load Google, you would have to open a new tab. We would have bursts of good speeds from online speed tests, ranging from 8.6Mbps down to not being able to load the test, and everything in between. urls... live in Wisconsin and my ISP is Centurylink (formerly Centurytel), a technician came over yesterday and checked our box outside and inside and said that it was our Margin (db), if I remember correctly. Here is the info from my router: [code] The technician ended up lowering our speed to 6 Mbps, and said that everything looked good, and left. The Margin (db) was at 7.3 inside and 9.7 outside before he lowered it, and he thought that if we could hit 10, we would be fine. If that's the case then it seems like the margin is not the problem. If we are using too much speed could we set QoS on a router (would need a different router) to limit the bandwidth?

Ive been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).
The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.
According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.
My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?

About 2 weeks ago I have been getting lag spikes on my xbox and PC games, this never happened.I have no problem playing the game, no lag. Apart from these spikes that happen every 10-15mins.They last for about 5-10 seconds and seriously affect my game. (I get killed)
Would switching channel through the 02 Wireless internet control panel fix this? Am I on a bad channel?p.s. It is not possible for me to haveit wired, wireless only.

There is about 5 devices in my house that uses the same network. Two of them are Xbox's (One uses wireless, other uses wired). I've tried many times to open the NAT for the 2 Xbox's, but have never succeeded.I've read that enabling UPnP, will fix the problem; however I have tried that, and it does not work. If I want to open the NAT for just one Xbox, it will let me - I just port forwarded the required ports for the one Xbox. In my case, this isn't want I want.

I got a new gigabit router to up grade my old one in my current home network. The old router worked with everything including the problem PC. The new router works with everything (wired and wireless) except one PC.
To narrow it down I connected only that one pc with a wired connection to the router, removing all other devices. The problem still exists, so it's either a router or pc issue.
The pc will connect fine and I can access everything on the LAN and internet for about 5 min. Then I get limited connectivity and I need to do a release/renew to get the connection back.
While the PC is dropping all other devices that I connect to it work fine with no interruptions (wired and wireless).
I tried reseting the router, reinstalling NIC driver, setting a static IP, and messing around with the speed and duplexing options on the NIC. I plug in the old router, the pc connects with no issues.

I just bought a new television so thought I would finally be able to get to play xbox live in a television away from the router! But of course like always there is is problems....
I'll start off by saying I understand about bridging your pc's wireless connection to the router and the wired connection from the xbox to the pc. I did the same thing last year with my old laptop and it worked fine.
However the problem lies in that my computer isn't recognising the xbox as a network device atal! They are connected using an ethernet cable (and the orange light comes on at port when xbox is turned on) but the only thing showing up in networked connections folder on the pc is the actual internet!
I had read that sometimes an ordinary ethernet cable isn't enough and it must be a cross over cable used to connect the pc and the xbox, so went into the shop today and purchased an adaptor that changes the cable to a cross over... but still nothing is showing up.
My computer is fairly top of the range, windows 7 and uses a netgear usb network card.

My modem is D-LINK WBR-2310. I am trying to set up a static IP for my Xbox 360, but am unable to. I have tried assigning it IPs from inside/outside my DHCP range, and nothing works. Every time I assign it a new IP, I forward the port in my router. My modem is an Embarg EQ-660R, and is bridged. My 360 is set up wired directly to my router (the only wired item I have). Every time I test the connection after forwarding the port, it (my 360) errors out at the first step of connecting to "network". I've searched the interweb to no avail trying to find an answer to this problem. I'm putting the IP address of the IP I choose in the port forwarding rules, this is correct, yes? General port forwarding question: What port are you supposed to choose for different games, say Battlefield 3, that I play on my PC? Is the port I choose in my router settings supposed to always be the IPv4 address within IPconfig?

Since about 2 months ago I've started to get lag spikes when playing games online. Both xbox 360 and PC games lag and no matter what time it is there are lag spikes. I have ports forwarded for the games I play and even when connecting straight to the modem I get lag. I called my ISP 5 times now and each time they tell me it is a local problem on my end. My ISP also told me I should upgrade my speed, so I upgraded to 8 meg down/1 up and it did not work, whatsoever. I'm thinking that my ISP is BS'ing me, but I want to get other peoples opinion on what I could do before I switch ISP's.

I can't use both online for some reason. I also can't get my 360 to work online unless I reset my router, and the IP says something like 24.* whatever in the network settings for the 360. I'm fairly knowledgeable about computers, but I barely know anything about networking so bear with me. I think this started after I removed a cable from my router (a different connection that I didn't need any more), and hit the reset button. I'm not sure what exactly it changed to cause this however. I also tried a router of the exact same model and it didn't work.

I have a Linksys E3000 router that I've been using to connect my XBox online wirelessly. But I just got UVerse and now I have a set top box that I can connect to the XBox with an ethernet cable instead. I want to connect my PS3 online also, so I plan to connect the set top box to the router with an ethernet cable, then connect the XBox and PS3 to the router with cables. (The router would not be connected to a computer.) I just want to know, will this work? Do I need to set up the router in any way to act as a switch, and if so, how?

Is it possible to give me NAS and Xbox 360 Host names so that they show up in my DHCP Client list? Currently there are 13 devices connected, 11 of which have a host name but these two do not. It also shows the IP and MAC addresses of each connected device.I just want to make sure that all of the devices that are connected are what I would expect.

My nephew's XBox (he's an on line gamer, and quite a serious one for that matter...) seems to boot him off line when someone uses the phone or goes on line on another computer. The house is quite far from the exchange so the average down speed is only 1.75-2 Mbps. This connection is through a BT Infinity R/S/F and I wanted to know if we could just add another R/S/F device and subnet the games console into it's own DMZ with full bandwidth access and then the normal broadband & phone on a different subnet also with full bandwidth access?
