View 1 RepliesIve been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).
The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.
According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.
My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?
I just bought a new television so thought I would finally be able to get to play xbox live in a television away from the router! But of course like always there is is problems....
I'll start off by saying I understand about bridging your pc's wireless connection to the router and the wired connection from the xbox to the pc. I did the same thing last year with my old laptop and it worked fine.
However the problem lies in that my computer isn't recognising the xbox as a network device atal! They are connected using an ethernet cable (and the orange light comes on at port when xbox is turned on) but the only thing showing up in networked connections folder on the pc is the actual internet!
I had read that sometimes an ordinary ethernet cable isn't enough and it must be a cross over cable used to connect the pc and the xbox, so went into the shop today and purchased an adaptor that changes the cable to a cross over... but still nothing is showing up.
My computer is fairly top of the range, windows 7 and uses a netgear usb network card.
I've got an Open NAT but there's still some people i can't connect to (Xbox Live), i know theres a UPNP but it doesn't seem like it's doing anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMore often than not, when my son wants to play on Xbox Live, the Xbox won't connect to Xbox Live. It will connect to the network and the internet but not Xbox Live. After running the connection test, the suggestion is to reboot the modem and router. It works after rebooting those two devices. Why does this happen so often?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIt worked fine for my PC's and Xbox, but I had disconnected my router for a while, plugged it back in and my xbox simply cannot receive any connection. I should also note that I use an ethernet cord (I don't use it wirelessly) and it has nothing to do with the ethernet cord (I've tried several). Using network magic, it does confirm that a connection to the game console and the router.I've looked through the forums and all of what I found, are NAT problems/issues or fixing a wireless issue, but not an issue when using an ehternet cord.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo our last router (Linksys) quit on us the other day so we got this one. We plug it in and it works most of the time, but the connection drops out periodically. Also, for some reason, I am now unable to connect to Xbox Live using my laptop as a router (plugging the ethernet cable from my xbox to my laptop). Also, when I plag it in, the internet stops working on my laptop and I have to restart it to get it to work again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a xbox 360 that I want to connect to xbox live with, using my home network. Every time I try to connect to xbox live the only part that fails is the connecting to xbox live part. This is how my network is set up. I have Cox Cable as my ISP, a Linksys WCG200 gateway(v2), and WRT54GS(v7). The cable wire is connected to the WCG200 gateway, then an Ethernet cable connects the gateway to the WRT54GS router, and finally an Ethernet cable connects the router to my xbox 360. I have contacted Cox, Linksys, and Microsoft about the situation and they all say the problem is the version of the router. Someone told me that I may just need to change the firmware, but I don't know how to do that.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have tried everything, port forwarding, switching wires, and resetting my router. NOTHING WORKS! I get disconnected every 15 minutes and i can even send messages to people.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got threatened by a few people for being good and my xbox live has been disconnecting a lot today and i've been unable to finish a game. then I looked into my router settings and saw this... 79 TCP- or UDP-based Port Scan So that means 79 times it did that, which is weird when you look at the rest of the router numbers.

View 1 Replies View Relatedblocking the ports and all that but that only works if the person is not connected and then attempts to connect.Looking for a way to disconnect while connected and blocking ports does not do that.I had a way where if I paired blocking ports with blocking certain websites xbox live uses it would kick xbox live off right away. Unfortunately I lost those sites.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my wireless connection.I was connected fine to my wireless internet on my desktop perfectly fine. I then attempted to connect to Xbox live at this time and that also worked fine. The connection began to get a little flaky (kept losing connection) so I reset my modem while they were both still connected. When the modem came back neither was able to connect. My other laptop, iPhone, and iPad also can no longer connect to the wireless.Windows troubleshooting tells me my DNS server is no longer responding. I'm assuming the desktop connection and Xbox connection are trying to connect to the same thing due to my reset, but I can't figure out how to fix it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Netgear Pro-safe VPN firewall. I have 3 or 4 Xbox consoles on my network. After a few days i got multiple complaints that the users kept getting disconnected from Xbox live after i installed this firewall. I have noticed that it only does it to the xbox, computers and laptops are working great. I also noticed that, 5 or 10 sec. before the router goes out. The firewalls indicator lights all light-up at the same time. Then it resets and the connection restores itself. It happens mostly when using Netflix through the xbox. I have tried port forwarding but it seemed like it made it worst.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a E1000 and already for the longest time I've been trying basically everything possible to get my NAT open from being strict.I've looked around and tried everything I came across including the port forwarding. The only thing different from what I have and from what I have seen is that my router's ip is 192.168.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.1 that everyone else seems to have. I don't know if that affects my NAT in any certain way either. What I can possbily do or what might be the problem as to why I can't get my NAT opened?

Why I can't get my NAT opened? Right out of the box, my NAT has always been strict. I'm thinking about returning all of my settings back to default and then trying everything over.
How I can block out Xbox Live at certain times? I want it to shut off at 9 pm cause sometimes I work late and my daughter cannot tell time. I do know which ports I need to block but when I put it in the blocked services and put it the allow time, it still blocks it all the time. I have the wireless router with speed boost but no version.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently my xbox live connection, which is bridged through my desktop, has been disconnecting about every 10 minutes of online gameplay. Now i want to give as much information possible for the sake of everyone else. Previously when i was running the bridged connection, everything was fine. My old set up was as follows: The computer in my home office is a dell Inspiron 620. The high speed modem it's connected to is a motorola 2210- 02. Then I ran a Netgear Wireless G router (WGR614V10) which all the wireless electronics connect to. The computer in my room is a HP Compaq Presario PC (SR5807C) which connected to the wireless router using a Netgear WPN111V3 wireless USB adapter. From there I ran an ethernet cable from my Xbox 360 into the ethernet port in the back of my PC and bridged the connections. This setup was brutally effective for about 2 years. One day my wireless adapter, connected to the HP Compaq burnt out. This is when the problems began. I replaced it with a Netgear N300 Wireless USB adapter, and the HP Compaq Presario connects to the wireless router just fine and never loses connection. But when I bridged the connections between the computer and the Xbox 360, my xbox live began to go out.... ALL THE TIME.... All the of the above information remains the same except for the new wireless USB adapter (N300). I've tried everthing from restarting the computer, resetting all settings to default (both the 360 and the wireless settings on my computer), port forwarding and triggering by microsoft xbox live recommendations and anything in between. I would have figured with the newer USB adapter my live should be working better but every 10 minutes it disconnects me from xbox live. (When I get disconnected from live, the computer, from what I can tell, remains connected while the bridge encounters all the issues) At the same time apps like netflix and youtube work fine all day and I never get disconnected, only when I'm gaming (COD MW3, Halo Reach, etc.).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E3200 and it is connected to the internet by Ethernet cable. Like that is what my ISP gave me. No DSL line or anything like that, just straight up Ethernet cable. I went from having slow internet and connecting to everyone to fast internet and cannot connect to anyone, only when someone that has a open NAT to host it for me even to connect. I have tried DMZ, port forwarding, disabling UPnP and enabling it. Also I can't connect to any of my friends that have the same ISP as me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not having an NAT issue, but my e2000 is constantly disconnecting from XBOX Live. About every 3-5 minutes I get disconnected. My wireless is working perfectly, this is only an issue with XBOX Live.
[code]....
and I have double checked every setting. I've set the MTU, unchecked UPnP, entered port forwarding range to XBOX's static IP address, and set the DMZ to my XBOX's MAC address. So, what is causing my router to constantly disconnect?
I just recently upgraded my router from the WRT160n V3 to the E3000. I had to port forward from my old 160n to get my NAT settings from Xbox Live set to OPEN. When I switched out the router to the new E3000, my Xbox Live settings went back to Medium (Moderate). I assumed this would happend since its a new router/setup.
setup my E3000 and Xbox Live so I can have my NAT settings to OPEN? I only need to setup 1 Xbox.
we got two xbox 360 at home. the one in my room is wired to the router and the other one is in the other room wireless. Since I bought the EA4500 I been having the NAT problem.I bought it like 4-5 days ago. Before I had the E4200 and it was working fine on both consoles. Yesterday I did the Port Triggering and nothing changed, NAT type does not Open. One of the xbox sometimes has Open NAT Type and the other xbox Moderate NAT Type. I was using Cisco Connect Cloud but yesterday I went back to the classic layout.
