View 3 RepliesI just recently upgraded my router from the WRT160n V3 to the E3000. I had to port forward from my old 160n to get my NAT settings from Xbox Live set to OPEN. When I switched out the router to the new E3000, my Xbox Live settings went back to Medium (Moderate). I assumed this would happend since its a new router/setup.
setup my E3000 and Xbox Live so I can have my NAT settings to OPEN? I only need to setup 1 Xbox.
I have three xbox 360s (mine plus my son and my daughter)...I have my settings set to where when myself and my son are on our 360s our NAT type is open..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E3200 and it is connected to the internet by Ethernet cable. Like that is what my ISP gave me. No DSL line or anything like that, just straight up Ethernet cable. I went from having slow internet and connecting to everyone to fast internet and cannot connect to anyone, only when someone that has a open NAT to host it for me even to connect. I have tried DMZ, port forwarding, disabling UPnP and enabling it. Also I can't connect to any of my friends that have the same ISP as me.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwe got two xbox 360 at home. the one in my room is wired to the router and the other one is in the other room wireless. Since I bought the EA4500 I been having the NAT problem.I bought it like 4-5 days ago. Before I had the E4200 and it was working fine on both consoles. Yesterday I did the Port Triggering and nothing changed, NAT type does not Open. One of the xbox sometimes has Open NAT Type and the other xbox Moderate NAT Type. I was using Cisco Connect Cloud but yesterday I went back to the classic layout.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a E1000 and already for the longest time I've been trying basically everything possible to get my NAT open from being strict.I've looked around and tried everything I came across including the port forwarding. The only thing different from what I have and from what I have seen is that my router's ip is 192.168.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.1 that everyone else seems to have. I don't know if that affects my NAT in any certain way either. What I can possbily do or what might be the problem as to why I can't get my NAT opened?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI Have a WRT160Nv2 and I am trying to get my nat to become unstrict for xbox live. I have tried port fowarding that has not worked. I tried this site [URL] and that didnt work(I only have one xbox 360 btw). Nothing has worked for me and every time I mess with something it screws up the internet so I have to set it up to the previous defaults. I know how to access my router I just need to know what to enable, disable, or add to the router.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMore often than not, when my son wants to play on Xbox Live, the Xbox won't connect to Xbox Live. It will connect to the network and the internet but not Xbox Live. After running the connection test, the suggestion is to reboot the modem and router. It works after rebooting those two devices. Why does this happen so often?

Why I can't get my NAT opened? Right out of the box, my NAT has always been strict. I'm thinking about returning all of my settings back to default and then trying everything over.
It worked fine for my PC's and Xbox, but I had disconnected my router for a while, plugged it back in and my xbox simply cannot receive any connection. I should also note that I use an ethernet cord (I don't use it wirelessly) and it has nothing to do with the ethernet cord (I've tried several). Using network magic, it does confirm that a connection to the game console and the router.I've looked through the forums and all of what I found, are NAT problems/issues or fixing a wireless issue, but not an issue when using an ehternet cord.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow I can block out Xbox Live at certain times? I want it to shut off at 9 pm cause sometimes I work late and my daughter cannot tell time. I do know which ports I need to block but when I put it in the blocked services and put it the allow time, it still blocks it all the time. I have the wireless router with speed boost but no version.

I'm set on going online but when I go on to play online for MW3(Modern Warfare 3) my NAT Type says strict,I can't join any of my friends games. It says to go on infintyward.com/Nat and when I do it doesn't show my model of linksys (WRT300N) i reset my xbox,my router and still nothing
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not having an NAT issue, but my e2000 is constantly disconnecting from XBOX Live. About every 3-5 minutes I get disconnected. My wireless is working perfectly, this is only an issue with XBOX Live.
[code]....
and I have double checked every setting. I've set the MTU, unchecked UPnP, entered port forwarding range to XBOX's static IP address, and set the DMZ to my XBOX's MAC address. So, what is causing my router to constantly disconnect?
My son plays Xbox and asked me to investigate settings on my router that will allow him better play on his Xbox LIVE. From what I've found out I need to trigger ports in my router settings.I have a Linksys E3000 router. His Xbox is plugged directly in from the router.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a xbox 360 that I want to connect to xbox live with, using my home network. Every time I try to connect to xbox live the only part that fails is the connecting to xbox live part. This is how my network is set up. I have Cox Cable as my ISP, a Linksys WCG200 gateway(v2), and WRT54GS(v7). The cable wire is connected to the WCG200 gateway, then an Ethernet cable connects the gateway to the WRT54GS router, and finally an Ethernet cable connects the router to my xbox 360. I have contacted Cox, Linksys, and Microsoft about the situation and they all say the problem is the version of the router. Someone told me that I may just need to change the firmware, but I don't know how to do that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor Xbox 360? currently, whether wired or wireless, my Xbox 360's NAT type is strict, and I am unable to do anything online whatsoever. Is there anyways to set up an exception, or anything that can open my Xbox's connection to my router so I can actually use it online?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT120N router.it goes alright in connection wise but for my ps3 my Nat type is strict which wont let me join in some of my mate's partie's or host a game. And i REALLY wanna fix it by opening my nat. I've basically tried everything port forwarding but when you save it when port forwarding, it doesn't save like it look's like on the video's i have seen on YouTube.I've done that DMZ thing which also didn't work.I've basically done everything on YouTube and other site's.I'm just wondering if it's just the router. Or just the way i have it all setup because my router is setup in a different room with the computer which is hooked up with the modem and my ps3 is in my room which is a different room and is just connected threw WiFi my connection on the ps3 is wireless obviously.

On this router it seems there is no Port Forwarding it's now Port Triggering and it seems to require more info than Forwarding does.I should mention Im using a Router from Centurylink and I have no Admin powers, I can still go in and do things with ports but how I would change my NAT type or Port Trigger

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Linksys WRT120N and have a couple of issues, one of them may force me to return it to the point of purchase.Once WPA2 is enabled, on the Wireless-Advanced Wireless Settings screen,, the Authentication Type (which was greyed out by default) changed from Auto to Open and remained greyed out. I want to change this back to Auto. The other issue is that on the Status screen, the IP addresses of the domain name servers (DNS) are incorrect. This screen displays the DNS server addresses sent by the ISP and are not displaying the DNS addresses that are hard coded on the main Setup screen - although if I run nslookup, the DNS server address displayed in the console window, is the one that is displayed on the Setup screen.
The more important of the two is the Authentication Type being Open and greyed out. If this is something that cannot be changed, then I will be forced to return this for credit as it was the last unit on the shelf. I had reset the router back to the factory defaults and reconfigured it again, but this did not resolve either issue. I'm tempted to think that both issues may be the result of defective firmware, which shows version 1.0.06.
I have a WRT54G ver.5.(just did latest firmware) and a Buffalo Air Station wireless gaming adaptor.I have gone and port fowarded the UDP 88,UDP 3074,TDP 3074 I believe I have left the UPnP on (brother in law says not an issue)(?) On my XBOX 360 i have the IP & DNS set to Auto, and I get an OPEN setting on my NAT.But when I play online (Halo 3) I can't join any of my friends' parties, acting like it is STRICT. When I set up my IP & DNS to Manual and put in static IP & DNS, I run the tests and get STRICT. It seems to me that even though my NAT "says" its OPEN, it is really on STRICT.
