I have a problem when trying to connect my Xbox to the internet. When I run the Xbox Live conection test it connects to the network just fine, but when trying to connect to the internet it comes up with this message,Your console is not receiving ICMP responses properly.' The internet is working fine on other computers in the house.

The only thing different from what I have and from what I have seen is that my router's ip is 192.168.0.1 instead of 192.168.1.1 that everyone else seems to have. I don't know if that affects my NAT in any certain way either. What I can possbily do or what might be the problem as to why I can't get my NAT opened?

After running the connection test, the suggestion is to reboot the modem and router. It works after rebooting those two devices. Why does this happen so often?

Why I can't get my NAT opened? Right out of the box, my NAT has always been strict. I'm thinking about returning all of my settings back to default and then trying everything over.
It worked fine for my PC's and Xbox, but I had disconnected my router for a while, plugged it back in and my xbox simply cannot receive any connection. I should also note that I use an ethernet cord (I don't use it wirelessly) and it has nothing to do with the ethernet cord (I've tried several). Using network magic, it does confirm that a connection to the game console and the router.I've looked through the forums and all of what I found, are NAT problems/issues or fixing a wireless issue, but not an issue when using an ehternet cord.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E3200 and it is connected to the internet by Ethernet cable. Like that is what my ISP gave me. No DSL line or anything like that, just straight up Ethernet cable. I went from having slow internet and connecting to everyone to fast internet and cannot connect to anyone, only when someone that has a open NAT to host it for me even to connect. I have tried DMZ, port forwarding, disabling UPnP and enabling it. Also I can't connect to any of my friends that have the same ISP as me.

I just recently upgraded my router from the WRT160n V3 to the E3000. I had to port forward from my old 160n to get my NAT settings from Xbox Live set to OPEN. When I switched out the router to the new E3000, my Xbox Live settings went back to Medium (Moderate). I assumed this would happend since its a new router/setup.

Yesterday I did the Port Triggering and nothing changed, NAT type does not Open. One of the xbox sometimes has Open NAT Type and the other xbox Moderate NAT Type. Every time I try to connect to xbox live the only part that fails is the connecting to xbox live part. This is how my network is set up. I have Cox Cable as my ISP, a Linksys WCG200 gateway(v2), and WRT54GS(v7). The cable wire is connected to the WCG200 gateway, then an Ethernet cable connects the gateway to the WRT54GS router, and finally an Ethernet cable connects the router to my xbox 360. I have contacted Cox, Linksys, and Microsoft about the situation and they all say the problem is the version of the router. Someone told me that I may just need to change the firmware, but I don't know how to do that.

I can't access my live camera feed from my home surveillance DVR from outside of my LAN using the Linksys E4200. I was able to access the camera feed using the Linksys WRT 610N, when it wasn't dying on me. I can access the camera feed from inside of my LAN. I've configured port forwarding, port range triggering, and DMZ. I'm using the LTS LTD7708 DVR.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe problem: running a standard single band 2.4gz BT homehub. When using my xbox and wireless headset (razer chimeara) the xbox loses connection. When i tuen the headset off i no longer lose connection. This suggests to me that the headset is simply emitting on the same frequency and bullying the connection, thus the xbox disconnects I have purchased the wireless N adapter to allow the xbox to run on the 2.4 or 5ghz band. I am now looking for a duel band router to allow my xbox to connect to the 5gz band and hopefully this will rectify my interference issue with the headset. I have been lookijg at the e4200 as this supports seperate ssid for 2.4 and 5ghz band, so the xbox can run on the 5ghz and the intererence from the 2.4ghz headset should subside - do you think this would work? Also, with the single ssid duel band routers, where 2.4/5gjz share the same ssid - how would my wireless N devices know to run on the 5ghz and not the 2.4?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIve been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).
The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.
According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.
My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?
Basically sometimes I suffer from serious lag! I want to best setting to get the most out of my modem. What are the reccomended setting for this modem?

Mask is 255.255.255.0.Added four port forwarding rules per directions on xbox site and also portforwarding.com for ports 53, 80, 88, 1074 to the static IP Turned off DMZ, Turned off UPnP, Turned off SPI. Windows firewall is on, running XP Pro SP3 and Win 7 Pro on other devices.Making the rules active for the fixed IP shuts off internet access for other devices.Single router (E4200 V2), switch, then remaining devices. Private IP addresses in the 192.168.xxx.xxx range. Rebooted router, same issue. What am I missing?

I'll start off by saying I understand about bridging your pc's wireless connection to the router and the wired connection from the xbox to the pc. I did the same thing last year with my old laptop and it worked fine.
However the problem lies in that my computer isn't recognising the xbox as a network device atal! They are connected using an ethernet cable (and the orange light comes on at port when xbox is turned on) but the only thing showing up in networked connections folder on the pc is the actual internet!
I had read that sometimes an ordinary ethernet cable isn't enough and it must be a cross over cable used to connect the pc and the xbox, so went into the shop today and purchased an adaptor that changes the cable to a cross over... but still nothing is showing up.
My computer is fairly top of the range, windows 7 and uses a netgear usb network card.
I have tried everything, port forwarding, switching wires, and resetting my router. NOTHING WORKS! I get disconnected every 15 minutes and i can even send messages to people.

I then attempted to connect to Xbox live at this time and that also worked fine.The connection began to get a little flaky (kept losing connection) so I reset my modem while they were both still connected.When the modem came back neither was able to connect.My other laptop, iPhone, and iPad also can no longer connect to the wireless.Windows troubleshooting tells me my DNS server is no longer responding.
