Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT120N How To Open NAT Type PS3
Dec 29, 2011
I have a WRT120N router.it goes alright in connection wise but for my ps3 my Nat type is strict which wont let me join in some of my mate's partie's or host a game. And i REALLY wanna fix it by opening my nat. I've basically tried everything port forwarding but when you save it when port forwarding, it doesn't save like it look's like on the video's i have seen on YouTube.I've done that DMZ thing which also didn't work.I've basically done everything on YouTube and other site's.I'm just wondering if it's just the router. Or just the way i have it all setup because my router is setup in a different room with the computer which is hooked up with the modem and my ps3 is in my room which is a different room and is just connected threw WiFi my connection on the ps3 is wireless obviously.
I'm trying to change my NAT type on my PS3 from strict to open. My router is a WRT120N and I'm using cable internet. it down so I can understand what you're saying.
I just purchased a Linksys WRT120N and have a couple of issues, one of them may force me to return it to the point of purchase.Once WPA2 is enabled, on the Wireless-Advanced Wireless Settings screen,, the Authentication Type (which was greyed out by default) changed from Auto to Open and remained greyed out. I want to change this back to Auto. The other issue is that on the Status screen, the IP addresses of the domain name servers (DNS) are incorrect. This screen displays the DNS server addresses sent by the ISP and are not displaying the DNS addresses that are hard coded on the main Setup screen - although if I run nslookup, the DNS server address displayed in the console window, is the one that is displayed on the Setup screen.
The more important of the two is the Authentication Type being Open and greyed out. If this is something that cannot be changed, then I will be forced to return this for credit as it was the last unit on the shelf. I had reset the router back to the factory defaults and reconfigured it again, but this did not resolve either issue. I'm tempted to think that both issues may be the result of defective firmware, which shows version 1.0.06.
I've recently bought a Cisco WRT120N router and, like my previous router, the NAT type on my PS3 console is type 3 which means I can't connect to my friends.Does any one know how to change this? I have not port forwarded or anything, as I'm not sure how and do not want to mess up the router's settings.want to change the NAT type to Open or Type 1.
For Xbox 360? currently, whether wired or wireless, my Xbox 360's NAT type is strict, and I am unable to do anything online whatsoever. Is there anyways to set up an exception, or anything that can open my Xbox's connection to my router so I can actually use it online?
how to change my nat from moderate to open so i can play xbox without any problems. But the weird thing is my nat used to be open but it changed to moderate and i have recently bought the linksys e2000 and it was open at first but not anymore.
Recently Ive been having issues with connecting to games on my PS3, Ive been trying to do things like Port Forwarding like I did on my old router but the way this router is set up is extremely different. On this router it seems there is no Port Forwarding it's now Port Triggering and it seems to require more info than Forwarding does.I should mention Im using a Router from Centurylink and I have no Admin powers, I can still go in and do things with ports but how I would change my NAT type or Port Trigger
I have three xbox 360s (mine plus my son and my daughter)...I have my settings set to where when myself and my son are on our 360s our NAT type is open..
have listed all ports udp and tcp i have disabled UPnP i have changed mtu to 1364 and tried 1365. i have rebooted both router and modem. still no success. Cant seem to change nat type 3 to nat type 2. i am use a WRT120n wireless router
I have a wrt120n wireless router and use Network Magic Essentials with 2 computers on my network. It has worked fine for about 2 years. I recently upgraded the desk top from an XP pro service pack 2 to a service pack 3. I am now unable to receive files from my laptop which is a Vista or print from the laptop. I can receive files on the laptop from the desktop. I am running McAfee and have spent about 3.5 hrs with a tech there but they have not been able to find any problems with their system.
So I use wireless internet because I don't have access to a phone jack in this room; therefore I can't use a ethernet connection. This is entirely random in nature and doesn't seem to be affected by anything I do (Disabling/Enabling firewall, forwarding the appropriate ports, creating a firewall exception and restarting modem/computer. It will be OPEN during a game, and then my wireless connection icon (signal bars) on the task tray will show a little yellow caution sign and then it will disconnect from the network, forcing me to open the list of available networks and reconnect. After this happens, my NAT will change to strict, and thus far I haven't been able to make it OPEN again. I'm at my wits ends here, nothing I do seems to have any effect at all on my NAT type.
have one router WRT54G with firmware version v2.02.7, Feb. 27, 2004, and I'm trying to use this router to get my PS3 connected to the internet, but in the PS3 appears that I'm using NAT Type 3 and to enable some online features in my PS3 I must change it to NAT Type 2 (from the router configuration), I tried everything that I found (put my PS3 in DMZ zone, enabling TCP/UDP ports, enabling/disabling UPnP, disabling Media Server Connections in my PS3, etc.) and nothing works,
I have an e4200 and every once in a while a few files on my USB Hard Drive will change to an empty folder. What do I do to change the file back to its original format and what do I do to keep this from happening again later? I have photos that are not replaceable and do not want to lose them?
My son plays Xbox and asked me to investigate settings on my router that will allow him better play on his Xbox LIVE. From what I've found out I need to trigger ports in my router settings.I have a Linksys E3000 router. His Xbox is plugged directly in from the router.
I dont know or understand how to change my nat type. I have the e3000 linksys router. My ps3 is running wireless off it. I want to change form nat 3 to 2
I have a Linksys E3200 and it is connected to the internet by Ethernet cable. Like that is what my ISP gave me. No DSL line or anything like that, just straight up Ethernet cable. I went from having slow internet and connecting to everyone to fast internet and cannot connect to anyone, only when someone that has a open NAT to host it for me even to connect. I have tried DMZ, port forwarding, disabling UPnP and enabling it. Also I can't connect to any of my friends that have the same ISP as me.
we got two xbox 360 at home. the one in my room is wired to the router and the other one is in the other room wireless. Since I bought the EA4500 I been having the NAT problem.I bought it like 4-5 days ago. Before I had the E4200 and it was working fine on both consoles. Yesterday I did the Port Triggering and nothing changed, NAT type does not Open. One of the xbox sometimes has Open NAT Type and the other xbox Moderate NAT Type. I was using Cisco Connect Cloud but yesterday I went back to the classic layout.
So currently I'm having issues with changing my nat type to open for my ps3. I've tried to use DMZ and port forwarding to change the nat type, but sadly I couldn't get this to work. Most the guides on the forums are for xbox's which wouldn't work for a ps3. Any handy guide to change my nat type to open for my ps3?
I have an E1000 that is connected to my main computer via Ethernet and have found that it crashes almost every time I run a particular type of operation.I'm testing software and running PHP scripts that invoke cUrl to fetch data from a few different web services via SSL. I would say that at least every other time one of these operations begins, the router crashes -- I am unable to ping its internal IP and I have to power-cycle it to get back up and running.
I don't experience the crashes in any other context and I use the router all day long. I'm one release behind on firmware but the release notes on the most recent version don't suggest that upgrading would make any difference -- no mention of any bugs fixed, for example.
I bought a new Linksys WRT120N modem which is working great, but the wireless for some reason isn't working properly. My computer is able to sense the exsistence of the connection tho. I've tried using other computers to connect to it, and still the same problem, can sense but cannot connect.
I currently have a network using ipaddress 10.1.x.x and 10.2.x.x and 10.3.x.x with a subnet of 255.0.0.0 I purchased 2 of the wrt120n wireless routers for testing and find I can not use the subnet of 255.0.0.0.
I have a WRT120N and have been trying to set up priorities using the QoS under the tab Applications and Gaming. Everytime I "Save Settings" it does not save. It refreshes the page and deletes everything I just set up.
I did Live Chat and they told me it was my router. I returned it and got another one... Same problem
