View 1 RepliesI have a Cisco Linksys WAG120N running with the firmware version 1.00.12, and it's working a quite fine.During some tests with the nmap command under Linux, I noticed that beyond the ports 80 and 433, another opened port 32764 shows up running an unknown service. This unknown service keeps running after scanning for ports between 1-65535 using nmap in stealth mode. But after querying the modem for operating system fingerprint using nmap but not in stealth mode, this port closes and the service disappears.
By using a browser to access 192.168.1.1:32764, a 12 byte "<random_prefix>.exe" file is download, and its's recognized as a text file. The file contains a "MMcSÿÿÿÿ" string, and the bytes in hexadecimal are "4d 4d 63 53 ff ff ff ff 00 00 00 00".And also, something strange happens after this unknown service goes down: Accessing the modem setup via browser, the settings displayed are different than I commonly use. the encapsulation is set to "Bridged Mode Only" instead the "RFC 2516 PPPoE", and into the Status Tab the Current Time field says "Time Zone string Error". Still in the Status Tab, in the Internet Connection information the "Login Type" is a misspelled "UNKNOW", the interface says "Connected" to a well accessible Default Gateway., the same displayed into the Routing Table Entry. Th Applications & Gaming Tab is unaccessible. After power switching the modem off and on again, everything comes back to normal again.
normally i have no trouble opening serten ports for gaming purposes but now i just cant seem to get them open
if i do hyperlobby: (begin: 20999 ) (end: 21001 ) protocol: ( both) on my current ip address and select the active square
it should open port 21000 right?but if i check in game, it wont open, and if i check on internet for port checks it also says timed out, for some reason it wont open this port, also other game ports wont open anymore, not sure what router i got but i think this is the model : WAG120N
I can't open yahoo.mail.com or sign in Yahoo Messenger on RFC 2516 PPPoE, but if I put the 'Encapsulation' on Bridge Mode Only and creat a connection on Windows 7, and then connect to internet what that, I can open yahoo.mail.com or sign into Yahoo Messenger.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor Xbox 360? currently, whether wired or wireless, my Xbox 360's NAT type is strict, and I am unable to do anything online whatsoever. Is there anyways to set up an exception, or anything that can open my Xbox's connection to my router so I can actually use it online?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WRT120N router.it goes alright in connection wise but for my ps3 my Nat type is strict which wont let me join in some of my mate's partie's or host a game. And i REALLY wanna fix it by opening my nat. I've basically tried everything port forwarding but when you save it when port forwarding, it doesn't save like it look's like on the video's i have seen on YouTube.I've done that DMZ thing which also didn't work.I've basically done everything on YouTube and other site's.I'm just wondering if it's just the router. Or just the way i have it all setup because my router is setup in a different room with the computer which is hooked up with the modem and my ps3 is in my room which is a different room and is just connected threw WiFi my connection on the ps3 is wireless obviously.

View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently Ive been having issues with connecting to games on my PS3, Ive been trying to do things like Port Forwarding like I did on my old router but the way this router is set up is extremely different. On this router it seems there is no Port Forwarding it's now Port Triggering and it seems to require more info than Forwarding does.I should mention Im using a Router from Centurylink and I have no Admin powers, I can still go in and do things with ports but how I would change my NAT type or Port Trigger

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Linksys WRT120N and have a couple of issues, one of them may force me to return it to the point of purchase.Once WPA2 is enabled, on the Wireless-Advanced Wireless Settings screen,, the Authentication Type (which was greyed out by default) changed from Auto to Open and remained greyed out. I want to change this back to Auto. The other issue is that on the Status screen, the IP addresses of the domain name servers (DNS) are incorrect. This screen displays the DNS server addresses sent by the ISP and are not displaying the DNS addresses that are hard coded on the main Setup screen - although if I run nslookup, the DNS server address displayed in the console window, is the one that is displayed on the Setup screen.
The more important of the two is the Authentication Type being Open and greyed out. If this is something that cannot be changed, then I will be forced to return this for credit as it was the last unit on the shelf. I had reset the router back to the factory defaults and reconfigured it again, but this did not resolve either issue. I'm tempted to think that both issues may be the result of defective firmware, which shows version 1.0.06.
I have an E1200 and its been doing wired things like disconnecting itself randomly and i also need to set it so that the NAT type is open

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using WAG120N, and it keeps disconnected from internet randomly, normally between 5-10 minutes. The thing is, when it is disconnected, the adsl lamp is still on, so I think that it is not the network problem. When internet lamp turns off , I try to turn off the device (or unplug the phone cable), then turn it on again (or re-plug the cable), and it will work for certain minutes, then gets disconnected again. I already upgraded the firmware to v 1.00.12.
