Ubee DDW3611 / Asus RT-N15 - How To Bypass Router In Modem
Jul 25, 2011
I just got set up with time warner, and the modem they gave me (Ubee DDW3611) also has a built in router. I already have an Asus RT-N15 running DD-WRT, and this is what I want to use as my router.
If I connect the Asus router to the Ubee router, is my Asus router going to take control? It appears as though it's handeling DCHP, but what about things like port forwarding? Am I going to run into trouble by having both routers? Is there any settings I should make in the Ubee router, or just leave it be?
I have Charter Communications Internet Service the 18MB Service. All Day today the Modem kept Resetting itself as if I had the modem plugged into a lightswitch, Called Charter and they gave me the run around. Im leasing this Cable Modem / Router all in one from them, its a Ubee DDW3611 Docsis 3. Here are the Event Logs as well as my Signals Right here,
I have recently installed a TWC Ubee modem/router combo and have networking a laptop and another PC (this one). The holds a constant internet connection. The PC using a Belkin Wireless G network adapter card is frequently losing connectivity to the internet.
How to bypass router to modem when the router has a built in modem? So my wireless router has a modem built into it, or is it the other way around: modem with built in router. I'm not sure...But anyway, because I am having such difficulties with the ps3 online, I have been told by many people to try bypassing the router straight to the modem.
I have been using broadband in my laptop using asus wireless router/modem DSL-N10E for last 2 months but with Ethernet cable plugged in. I have never used its wifi function. I tried today but was unable to connect after entering security passwordWhen look for troubleshoot it says "There might be problem with the drivers for the wireless network connection adapters"
I currently have the following set up in my basement: Modem to 8 port router which has cables going into a patch panel which in turn provides internet access at 8 wall outlets throughout the house. My data/video streaming needs are expanding and I have had additional wiring pulled to the new locations. I would like to know if I can bypass the patch panel and go from the Modem to a 24 port switch to individual wall plates throughout the house.
I've got a ASUS AC66 router plugged into my Comcast cable modem (regular dumb modem), it's running the Merlin (OEM-modified) firmware.I've got a Netgear 3400 router flashed with DD-WRT (latest build), it's a replacement for another N router that died on me.
Anyways, I went to set client bridge like always. Main router is 192.168.1.1 so I set DD-WRT router as 192.168.1.2, set the wireless modes to client bridge with matching SSIDs for my 2.4/5GHz radios, input the correct security keys on the security page (AES), then I put the router in router mode (from gateway) Basically, I followed the instructions on DD-WRT's website, which worked perfectly until the other router died.
This time around as soon as the DD-WRT router reboots with its bridge information saved it immediately causes some sort of conflict on my network and kills the internet and all network connections. All devices lose their IP address. It's like the DD-WRT router is somehow shutting down the network and my default router.
I have a UBEE modem/wireless router part number DDW3611
With either console it will start off connected than anywhere from 5-30 minutes later it will disconnect from the internet and not reconnect until the system has been restarted. I have tried disabling media streaming as mentioned in a previous post but this had no effect.
I have access to the router and am able to change settings although I don't know what I would change to fix this.
I just switched ISP's and they provided me with a Ubee router. The computer plugged directly into works fine, great speed, no drops. A laptop connected via Wifi is the same, great speed, no drops. My Router is not simply 'dropping' connection, but instead, 'disabling' the internet to the devices and forcing me to reconnect in order to get approx. a few minutes of it again.I have a Desktop computer with a WGA600N Gaming adapter hooked up to it, and an iPod touch. Both worked perfectly with the old router, so I know it's the router for sure. The thing is, it's not just dropping and reconnecting..
It's connecting for a few minutes, and disconnecting permanently until I reconnect to the connection..For my iPod, it doesn't actually disconnect me, I just lose internet. It says I still have 3 bars of signal strength on my iPod, but I don't have internet. I must hit 'Forget this Network' and retype the password in order to get another 2-3 minutes out of the signal. As for my Desktop hooked up with the gaming adapter, when the internet 'runs out', I simply unplug it and plug it back in to 'renew' the internet.
My ISP is RDS (Romanian Data Systems) and if i have there cable connected directly to my laptop, i have download speed of 11 MB/s, but if i connect through a router my download speed is just 10% of that. I made a trace and saw that it took 11 points to reach google.com (when i'm connected directly) and 12 when i go through the router. They most certanly cut the band when the ping/trace has a difference of 1 point. They probably do this to preserve the band limits. How can i connect through a router and make the system think i'm connected directly ? So that i can have the same band that i pay for, not just 10% of it?My router is : TP-LINK 300M Wireless N Router Model No. TL-WR941ND . Now i know that in order to make this bypass i can install the Linux version of the router, but i don't know the steps in order to do that.
I'm configuring my new ISP-provided Ubee DVW3201B Home Gateway. In doing this, I'd like to set up my own home network configuration which uses classless subnets. (i.e.: A subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 in 172.16.x.x IP space.) However, I don't see any options in the LAN configuration which allow me to set a custom subnet mask. Is this a feature not available on this device? Does it default to classful subnet masks, or only use a /24 mask?
My sister had Time Warner road runner cable hooked up today. They gave her a Ubee combo modem and router in one box. When she tries to connect, it does not show up on the list of wlan connections in taskbar. I went thru network settings to try and set up the Ubee and it pops up in a few seconds, then tells you to hit next button and then ask for a 4 to 8 digit pin number which it says is on the modem.
he switch our internet and phone connection, our phone is now with vonage and internet to uBEE. SO ever since then our connection on the computer has been supper sloww. i am unable to play my games such as Crossfire this fps game. everytime i play it keeps telling me failed to connect to server. Then i sent a Support ticket and they told me to take this speed test.
I recently switched ISPs, and the new one gave us a Ubee DVW3201B as our home gateway. I want to change the Administrator username/password from the defaults, but I've been having some difficulty.
Every time, after I save the new username and password, I'm prompted to re-authenticate to the administration interface. It fails no matter what I try. I've tried using:
New username / New password Default username / New password Default username / Default password
None of the above works. This has happened twice now, with my only recourse after failure being to do a reset to factory defaults (press and hold the hard reset button for 10 seconds). Is there something I'm missing?
I have an ASUS Z77 Motherboard and when I install the AI Suite II which comes on the installation disc it blocks my internet connection. When I uninstall the software my connection is fine. I am using an Ethernet connection by the way. I think it is being blocked by the component called Network iControl. As soon as that component is uninstalled my Internet connection comes back. I want to have the software, but I also want to have my connection.
I recently moved into a larger 2 story house, and for the first few months I was using a Linksys E1000 I've had for about 2 years now. It's a fine single band router, but the people upstairs and the xbox/PS3 in the living room didnt have the strongest connection.
I shopped around and finally got a ASUS RT-N66U for a really good, strong dual band router that would supposedly give better range and performance than my old E1000.
Unfortunately, since I got it everyone is having issues they never had before, namely:Signal dropping all around the house and having to search for the network much slower performance than before the xbox/PS3 cant hold a stable connection even for a few minutes now, when before you could watch Netflix HD programs easily
I've upgraded the Firmware to 3.0.0.3.178 since I heard earlier firmwares had issues, but other than that and opening my ports for qTorrent it is relatively stock settings.
Im loosing connection every few minutes , tried ipconfig /release , ipconfig /renew and im getting this error every time : An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out. After typing ipconfig /all DHCP address is 255.255.255.255 and this IP 192.168.100.10. Tried other things like flushdns / netsh commands and nothing want to work. My connection works only after i restart my modem. Modem type Ubee 3236.
I have tried everything including removing the system, changing the network settings, using cmd.exe, ect. they all say access denied and theres no possible way to get around this.
How can I bypass the proxy of my school? I cannot access my emails since I am in the UK and my email is provided with a server in China, namely 163.com; the email means a lot to me as it is the only way I can keep in touch with my friends from my old school.
Im stuck working on a moderm, its a speed touch 536 (old school) i cannot get past a password.. Im trying to set this bad girl up with a router, setting up routers in my specialty.Im trying to bridge the modern but on the setup page there is a password, i dont know if its factory or what.. ive tried many of common passwords for networking like (admin/admin, Admin/ Admin, Admin/Password) ive tried everything i can think of. so i need a way to bypass the security. Flashing the software maybe?Ive found a software uploader for it, but i cant find the original firmware for the modern.
In my campus they restricted our download speed to 30kbps by registering our laptop in gateway.example.com. It is so ridiculous to download in such a low speed.Even if pages are not opening.
We have a custom web application which is heavily relying on javascript. We're trying to access it via the webportal but this application does not load correctly (it barely shows a white page).
the link is [URL] and SUBIF-ISP2 is the public interface facing the internet. This is the rule as displayed by the CLI:
Despite having this command in place, nothing changes. I tried multiple combinations adding the xml and hostname rewrite or changing the interface but nothing, the page is the same like if this rule was not applied.
I just switched schools and I work for HP's marketing team part time which entitles me to get on some websites blocked by our school's network (sonicwall block).I then tried a proxy on Firefox and it was blocked as the sonicwall detected that I was using a proxy. Why did this happen and is there a way to bypass? This is mainly on wired connection as the Ethernet isn't god awfully slow like wireless is.
When I'm at work, I have internet (though a proxy) and remote access to the linux computers at work (the work laptop runs win 7)when I have to work at home, the work VPN that we were given has no internet access but I can connect to the remote linux computer that I need just fine. the linux computer has no internet access and more often than not is missing modules and dependencies. Is there a way to enable my home wifi network and the VPN so that the work computer can access the internet locally while I'm working? just one browser is all I need.... I currently have to disable the vpn, download my modules and then connect, to install them.
On my Gateway laptop there was a switch on the left side. It turned the internet access on or off. The switch broke off, and now I cannot access my wireless internet, I have to be corded. Can I turn off the switch within the computer so I can access my wi-fi?
I am living on a boarding school and they have a filter set up so we cannot surf for porn and stuff... but the thing is that all other things are blocked and they want an url number make my school better for everyoneIts from a private server Molten WoW so i need them to unlock the Server oO
I am currently running a Windows 2003 Server Edition and I have an issue, we run a small piece of software for controlling the nights takings which connects to the tills database on the network. This piece of software is not password protected and is held in a safe, however it has come to our attention that an employee may have taken possession of a copy of this application and we need to block the application been run on the network. Now this is were it gets difficult, I know to stop the application I could just use the Software Restriction Policy with Hash Rules which would solve that. However the problem is that sometimes people WILL need to run this software on the network and not get blocked. These people may not have their own accounts etc so I am trying to workout a way that we can allow someone to bypass the software restriction policy with a password prompt, is this possible or is their another way around this issue?
