I recently switched ISPs, and the new one gave us a Ubee DVW3201B as our home gateway. I want to change the Administrator username/password from the defaults, but I've been having some difficulty.
Every time, after I save the new username and password, I'm prompted to re-authenticate to the administration interface. It fails no matter what I try. I've tried using:
New username / New password
Default username / New password
Default username / Default password
None of the above works. This has happened twice now, with my only recourse after failure being to do a reset to factory defaults (press and hold the hard reset button for 10 seconds). Is there something I'm missing?
I'm configuring my new ISP-provided Ubee DVW3201B Home Gateway. In doing this, I'd like to set up my own home network configuration which uses classless subnets. (i.e.: A subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 in 172.16.x.x IP space.) However, I don't see any options in the LAN configuration which allow me to set a custom subnet mask. Is this a feature not available on this device? Does it default to classful subnet masks, or only use a /24 mask?
I just recently bought a WAG160N and I have a big issue with it, I can't change the password for the default admin account. All I get is this error in the browser "Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)"
Quick reset.Power cable disconnect for 60 sec.Factory reset followed by a reset of the router for 60 sec.Clearing my browsers cookies and internet temporary files.Only things I have changed is the Basic Setup to get connected to my ISP and the Wireless settings.
Details about clients, firmware versions etc.
Windows 7 build 7601 Service Pack 1 Chrome Browser 16.0.912.75 Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Router V2 firmware version 2.00.20
I just got a WRV 210 wireless router (three of them actually, planning to set up a VPN). But I can't set the admin password. I've tried 4 times, and every time, i've got to hold the reset button to reset to factory settings in order to access the management pages! I enter the new password in both fields, and then click to save the settings. It restarts. Then i try to log in - and it doesn't accept the new password. It doesn't accept the default password. I've tried with admin/(new password) and (new password)/(new password), and admin/admin. None of them work, forcing me to reset router to factory settings. I've tried a password composed of 6 letters followed by a . Thinking that maybe the . was throwing it off, I tried 6 letters followed by 3 numbers. That doesn't work either. I've updated to firmware version 2.0.1.5. No luck.
This is an interesting and don't know where to begin. From factory reset I connect a latop to 192.168.1.1 and change the IP address to my subnet 192.0.1.5/24. I disable DHCP too.THen i plug it in to my LAN and I can ping 192.0.1.5 but can't http to 192.0.1.5
So I remove from LAN, connect to my laptop, manually change my laptop op to 192.0.1.4/24 and then my laptop can http to the AG241 on Linksys AG241.Is there anything on the AG241 that could be confusing my LAN?
how to change username admin to something different. I can reset the router password but there's no easily identifiable option for changing the username.
I recently purchased an SG300-10 switch. Is it possible to change the TCP port numbers for the administrative services on this device? For example, if I wanted to change the web admin port from being availble on port 80 to port 8080, or move the SSH port from 22 to 2022, how would I do this?
I've looked over the web admin interface, and the Security > TCP/UDP services option looks like what I want, but I see no way to change a service's listening port. Is this possible?
I have a small, wired office network. Win 7 platform - I upgraded a pc from Vista to Win7 Ult. Now in order for 2 of the office personnel to logon to the network, they must first supply an admin password each time. I am the administrator so I can do this for them, but I can't keep doing this every time they need to login.
what to do with my router cdr -king i cant access 192.168.1.1 in second time. i access it for the first time but i forgot to configure password now i cant connect using ID:admin Pass:admin
How to reset the admin password on a tumbleweed appliance. My company just purchased a building, and the previous tenant left behind a bunch of equipment.
We installed one Extreme Network's 'Summit X450e-48p' switch in our organization. Unfortunately, we forgot it's admin account password and we don't have any other account on this switch to work on it.Anybody to guide us how to break admin account password for a Summit switch. We don't want factory reset.
Im having some problems changing my admin password on my DCS920
I know the default login is Login: admin / Password: "blank"
So I go into maintence, and there's an option to change the password.
it lists:
old password newpassword confirm
So I leave the old password blank and type in my new password in the following 2 spaces. I click apply and a window pops up asking me to enter username and password. I just enter admin and leave the password blank. I hit ok, and everything seems to update ok. So i log out, and try to log back in.
A window pops up asking me for my password. I type in admin for my username, and my new password, and it wont work
I type leaving the username blank, and type in new password... WONT WORK
I type admin, and new password again.. WONT WORK
I try password with first letter capital.. WONT WORK
I try password with ALL CAPS... WONT WORK..
Basically it wont let me log in as admin anymore. I figure I may have typed the password wrong the first time so I reset the camera and try the process again.. SAME PROBLEM.
Am I doing something wrong in changing my password ?
I dont wanna leave my default admin login as admin/"blank" , but when I try and change the password, it wont let me log in again as admin.
There is a Linksys RV016 router setup at my workplace. I need access to the webmanagement interface however the default password is not working. (Username/Password: admin/admin) Is there any way to obtain the login information without performing a reset of the router so I do not lose its current configurations?
I have to reset/recover admin-CLI password. I had posed the question in [URL]Now as per the CLI-admin password recovery procedure at [URL] I have inserted DVD in the hardware appliance, but I don't see any prompt with these options:
"Welcome to Cisco Identity Services Engine - ISE 3355 # To boot from hard disk press <Enter> # Available boot options: "
I just see login prompt ( and of course, I cannot login because I don't know the password). I am using serial console connection to the appliance.
I have an E1000 linksys router. I am trying to determine the admin password. I have looked at seeral entries regarding this. I do not have CICSO connect installed. Not sure why. The router works fine. I have the CD that came with the router. I have also downloaded current version of connect software. Both of them want to config the router. The first item asked for is the admin password. I know I press reset button. I am trying to retrieve password without doing that.
I've used many Cisco RV042/082 and have just purchased a couple previously used RV016 units. The first think I do is hold down the "reset" switch until the units reset to factory and then proceed programming them - EXCEPT this last unit doesn't seem to be resetting the administrative password. The unit has reset so that it is 192.168.1.1 and is handing out IP assignments via DHCP in that range.
When I point my browser (IE9) to the web page http://192.168.1.1 I am prompted to log on. I enter 'admin' for user name and attempt to enter the same for the password. The browser returns me to the logon prompt and after a few apparently failed attempts it displays a 401 error Unauthorized page.
and simply admin with a blank password.Isn't the admin password supposed to reset with everything else?If not - how can I - if it is, then what would be preventing the admin password from resetting - is there an internal jumper or something I could try? I don't care about preserving any setting obviously I just want access to the admin interface.
The EA4500 web-settings application asks for a username and password. The username is "admin" and the password is my long (60 character) wpa key. I see where I can change the password but it says I'll lose all wireless connections. This doesn't make sense to me. I would think the router administration username and password are completely separate from the ssid and wpa key. This was the case with my earlier LinkSys router. I'd like a router administration username to be something other than the generic "admin" and a password that is easier than my long wpa key. I want a separate ssid and wpa key (what I currently have).
I just installed the firmware upgrade 3.0.03 for my WRP160N router. It is now not accepting my Admin password. Nothing else has changed expect network name now shows linksys and not my assigend network name (SSID)
I am trying to reimage a Cisco MARS 25 appliance for the pnadmin password recovery procedure. I am trying to boot the system with Recovery DVD (Version 5.3.2) shipped with the appliance. I connected a VGA monitor and USB keyboard to the appliance and when I do a reboot, I can see the Installation options. Please Choose A MARS Model To Install...
1. Distributed Mars - Local Controller But I am not able to select the Option 1 for the reimaging of Local Controller since my keyboard is not responding for the selections. During the LILO boot process, I can see some error message that 'Keyboard Not Present'. I tried to connect the keyboard to different USB ports and the PS/2 port using a USB to PS/2 adapter. Still keyboard is not functioning.I am able to select the BIOS options while connecting the USB keyboard to appliance. But it is not functioning when booting from Recovery DVD. Also the keyboard is functioning if I boot the appliance directly with previous image. Unfortunately I dont have any PS/2 keyboard available for connecting and admin password for Login. Is there any workaround/solution for supporting the USB keyboard during the Recovery Procedure ?I tried the serial connection with hyperterminal but some junk charaters appear even after setting the recomended Baud rate, parity, flow control etc.The Ethernet console seems not working with the default IP address 192.168.0.101 for eth1.
