I have an Inspiron 1521 and while I can find and connect to a network easily and quickly; it takes 5 minutes or so for it to really work. My icon says it's "identifying the network". Is there anything I can do to speed up this process?

Dell Inspiron 1521 w/Vista Home Premium, wlan dell 1390. Adapter does not start at any time if I don't remove battery for a long period, or a shorter period if I depress the on/off button for 15-20 seconds. Works fine if it starts, but when it does not start it does not appear in Device Manager. If I close the lid (sleep) for even a split second the wifi will not come back on because the adapter is not active. The computer does not wake from sleep normally either, but that's been going on from the beginning and the wlan adapter is a new issue (in a long line of issues with this laptop.)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have got this new Dell inspiron 1521 with windows 8 and I am facing some weird problem with its DW WLAN NETWORK CONTROLLER.
it uses more of cpu resources (as seen from task manager) and causes the active window to become non active.
this makes it frustrating to work, means I am typing some username or anything in IE or Chrome or anywhere else and it suddenly becomes non active window (non selected as if some thing else is selected) and again becomes active in few seconds or I have to click anywhere in the window to make it active.
some times a pop up opens that "DW WLAN NETWORK CONTROLLER HAS STOPPED WORKING" send this information to microsoft.
This happens randomly and I'm not able to figure out when this thing occur, means I'm running on battery or power supply.
I have not used wifi on this laptop and I don't have wifi modem. I always use internet through ethernet cable.
One more thing whenever this problem occurs, I stop all the process related to WLAN in task manager and the problem of active-non active window and popup message disappears.
I have tried to uninstall and install the network adapter. also tried latest drivers from dell website.
Mid-day Thursday one of the laptops in my office suddenly was unable to identify the wireless network.
I have had this problem in the past with the other Dell laptop. Both are Windows 7. Tried uninstalling the adapter 4 times now. Changed SSIDs on my network. Added a SSID. Nothing works.
I am able to identify and get online if I put the IP address and DNS server in. Nothing I do lets it use DHCP.

For the past few weeks, I have been having trouble maintaining a steady wireless internet connection. I intermittently lose the connection or the strength of the connection fluctuates. I have an Inspiron 1521, with a Dell Wireless 1390 Wlan Mini-Card. Also, I am running Windows 7.
A couple of hours ago, I suddenly lost my wireless connection and could not reestablish it. I ran the diagnostic tool, which reported that there was a hardware or driver-related problem with my 1390 mini-card. Now, when I go into Device Manager, it has an exclamation point next to it and it says "This device cannot start (Code 10)".
I have restarted my system and downloaded and installed this driver URL . Device Manager now says, "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date," but there is still a Code 10 error.
Does this just mean that the card needs to be replaced? I am not sure what to do now -
Just restarted my Inspiron 1521 and what i see is NO Connection icon.Device manager does not show Dell and Microsoft adapter.

When I run Diagnose, sometimes I get the computer is correctly configured, but something is wrong with the DNS server (I dont know what that is). I have a NetGear CGD24G Wireless Router that was supplied by Charter when I got internet from them again. I also run Windows 7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe inbuilt wifi card on my 1521 laptop has lost it's range, I now have to be within a few feet of my BT hub or else the wifi signal keeps dropping out, have checked it not the hub by connecting another PC through wifi. I've taken various numbers from the original card but none of them matches up with the part No's on the Dell website, of the three numbers on the card I think the Dell P/No is DP-N OPC559.

The TL-MR3220 takes a long time to identify the 3g modem and sometimes it will not identify it at all and says "unplugged". Sometimes "unplugged" suddenly apears after the modem has been identified and was working properly.Is this the normal behavior of this device ? Why ? What can be done ? My customer has various Cisco switches but only cisco 2950 switches has the problem of ping timeout or reply time is too long(average more than 2 sec). It will cause I Network Mangement software alarm always.

When i click to start a video, sometimes it starts but after a very long buffering time (more than 8-10 seconds), sometimes it does-not at all some other time, the advertisement play but nothing happens after that (black screen). I have a fast internet access (30 MB up, 2 Mb down). I do not have this problem with the old router that the ea3500 is replacing ( a netgear wndr3700). On this old router al the videos are starting almost instantly.
I tried to lower the MTU of the 3500 from the default 1500 to 1400. No improvement. I tried to disable the WMM feature in QOS and by doing so i create another problem : i cannot access the 5 Ghz band anymore. I can see the SSID but cannot connect to it.
I have a Cisco Aironet 1200 Series Access Point. It takes long time to boot up.
After showing the warning banner message it takes long time before asking for username.

My laptop is dell inspiron N5010 and I have win 7 64bit home edition , I had a virus called win32.sality or something like that , that made all my program stop working , O downloaded an antivirus , and some message asked me to activate some kind of firewall and I presses ok , the wireless network changed to limited connectivity , I tried to reinstall the wireless driver , nothing happened , later , the available wireless networks disappeared , so I connected the network cable to connect to the internet using ethernet , it didn't work as well , and after many trials with the wireless drive , it's name doesn't appear now in the device manager , it says network adapter and has a yellow ! next to it , there is also something called realtek pcie fe family controller and it also have a yellow ! next to it , so I tried a usb broadband stick to connect to the internet that should have nothing to do with any drives , it said that the connection can't be established
the network troubleshooting sais that there could be a problem with the realtek pcie fe family controller drive , and it used to say before that there is a problem with the (intel ...) which is the wireless adapter (but i don't remember its full name)

I am not sure what to look for at this point. I also downloaded a 32 bit gen adapter from Intel but it wont load. I was suspecting that it was and issue with SP3 or a driver issue however it is doing the same thing always now. It will turn on and detect wireless networks but when I go to connect the connection box simply stays on "waiting for the network" then just stops. No faults or warnings. This happens with any network.
I stopped using the wireless a few months ago when it would randomly disconnect for any network. The thing just would not stay connected. Just used LAN. I have tried several different drivers and even a complete image restore. It really does seem like a hardware issue. Now I can pick up a new card for pretty cheap but I just want to if this is a common problem.
My laptop won't detect a particular network that other PCs and Macs can. It has no problem in connecting to other networks.

Basically, this is an internal DoS.I have done some research and an example of this problem is an ARP Storm but currently clients obtain IP addresses form our DHCP server, which acts as a proxy for the clients and if effective against deliberate attempts to craft packets that create ARP Storm.
