I have an Inspiron 530 running windows7. After 10-40 mins I am disconnected from the home internet and then from the home wifi entirely. I connect to the wifi using a Belkin wireless usb adaptor. The only way to reconnect is to reboot. I have tried everything I can find from updating drivers and moving the adpator to different ports.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo far I had my Dell Inspiron 620 for a year and it has worked almost perfectly. Now just recently(about 2 weeks ago) the wireless keeps on disconnecting me when I use my internet based programs. The only way to fix the issue is to go through the trouble shooting method by right clicking the wireless icon. The message that appears after the trouble shooting method is Wireless adapter may be broken or loose. I know it is not the program because it has done it even when I browse the internet. It usually does it during the evenings when there are more pc activity around the house. When this first happened, I thought there was a problem with the wireless card. So I contacted Dell support center. Which they were able to replace my wireless card. Then after the replacement, the problem was not fixed. Calling Dell support center again, they told me that I had to factory reset my computer since it was a software problem. Listening to Dell, I did that.
Even though I have done all those things. It was still unable to solve my wireless problem. Like I have put in my title, my wireless card is Dell Wireless 1502 802.11b/g/n. What I imagine now is that it has to do with my wireless router settings. I recently got a new wireless router which is the Asus RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router. When I first set this up, it was working fine at my previous location of my computer. Now since I am further away from the wireless router. The connection disconnects when I use programs that require a lot of internet. Currently, for the bandwidth I have set it to both 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz
I brought my laptop 6 months back, initially i was using the wired internet, so internet was working fine.
Later i have started using the wifi, from then wifi in my Dell laptop it's been disconnecting very frequently every 5 mins. I am totally frustrated. i have googled the forums and tried different instructions, but still i am facing.
it's works fine if we keeping working with the system, but when ever we are watching movies with out any introductions then it will start disconnecting.

when ever i try to talk on Skype or play games online my internet constantly disconnects.when it does i go to my wireless connection area and troubleshoot for problems with wireless connection 1 2 and local network area and it finds an issue with wireless connection 1.it then "fixes" it and tells me "problem with wireless adapter or access point"-fixed but then it just stops working literally a minute later and tells me the same thing when i try again.I have a dell inspiron 620 with a radeon 6670 that i installed inside of it. i am not using Ethernet connection im using wireless.

I'm always seeing the internet icon in the toolbar either on "Acquiring network address" or "Not connected", and when the internet is working, the icon doesn't even show up in the toolbar. This keeps on stopping me from doing stuff like posting in forums (I was lucky to be able to post this :P), logging into my email, etc. This problem, however, never existed on the Compaq, so I know it's not the signal. Is there any way to keep it from disconnecting constantly?

Now, i moved to a different part of the city and i had to install an internet connection. The connection is the same i used before - 100mbs fiber-optic. The only problem now is that the internet connection keeps dropping 2 3 times a day.Sometimes my laptop sees the wireless connection we set up,sometimes i have to wait one or two days to connect.Furthermore my laptops SEES like 10 other wireless connections except MINE!!!( if i go to a friends place the laptop sees his internet connection and works, the same if i go to any other place with a wireless connection) I live with 3 other people, they all have laptops and theirs work fine even after we reset the router. I also own a desktop PC, i bought a wireless adapter for it and surprise even the PC sees our wireless connection,,even my mobile phone,every other device except my laptop.

i have been experiencing problems with my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop running windows XP. For some reason my laptop connects to my network for a few minutes then disconnects, then it reconnects for a few minutes and disconnects. This happens repeatedly. I replaced my old Linksys WRT54G v.8 router with a DLink DIR-655 N Router thinking this would solve the problem but it didnt. I also positioned the new router higher than the last one, about 5 feet from the floor. The drivers for the Intel WiFi Link 5100 Mini Wireless Card on my laptop appears up to date, the current driver version is 13.5.0.6 from Intel. I don't experience wireless connection problems with my iPhone, apple tv or Xbox 360. Additionally, my DLink routers firmware is up to date.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI've had a N5010 laptop from a few years without many problems, using Win7 60b. Just a few days ago the wireless connection started failing saying there is no network available and that "there was a problem", what I had to do is right click the icon on the task bar, select the troubleshooting option that windows offers to fix it automatically, and after a minute or so the wireless is activated and working again, but just for a while since it lasts about 3~20 minutes and the problem starts again.
Other devices (like phones or other laptops) don't have this problem, so it's not a router issue.I've tried updating windows, re-installing the official drivers, rebooting the system, etc. I've also discovered that ethernet connection is just not working, as if it weren't there. There is no device shown on the windows device manager for ethernet.
I have an lan / modem card without drivers and cant find them on support drivers website .i have dp/n 06158u revA00 the card manufacturer is Action Tec and other markings on the card is DS/N TW-06158U-44432-1AF-1803

I've installed the newest drivers and got the latest updates for the Wifi card and on my Windows Vista.

I had presumed that I could just get a usb dongle from the manufacturer of the router and take it from there.Only problem is that the dongle won't fit into the front port of my inpiron 588. It will fit in halfway but then the casing of the dongle hits the bottom of the CD drive.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Dell Inspiron 17R 5720. When I plug an Ethernet from my router to the laptop absolutely nothing happens. It seems as if the Ethernet adapter on the laptop is not connected. I've tried troubleshooting by going into "Control Panel, Network Connections". The Ethernet icon says "Network Cable Unplugged, Realtex PCIe FE Family Controller".
I've tried the same Ethernet connection with another Dell laptop and it works just fine.
As I said, it seems as if the Ethernet adapter on my laptop is not hooked up at all.

I say this because my old Toshiba laptop, using my house wireless router, achieves 20MB/s on a download speedtest and the Inspiron happily does this when directly connected to the router.

He has wireless internet thru Comcast and there was never a problem.He downloaded some scam program, and I reformatted the hard drive. Used the recovery disk, windows installed and remained connected thru the whole reformat process.This recovery disk was the operating system only- no other recovery disk was included.After the reformat, the computer now has no wireless capability. After checking the forums I went to the service center, entered the service tag, and downloaded/installed every driver in the "chipset" and "network" categories. (Downloaded to a different computer and transferred with CD)Still no wireless. When I click on the "bars" in the lower right corner, it doesn't even give me an option for wireless networks (which it used to- now it only says "dial up and VPN")I went to the device manager, the "Wireless LAN mini card" is ok, but there are 4 things underneath showing the yellow exclamation point of death:

I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 (x64) on Dell laptop- Dell Inspiron N5110 . I did not rebuild it from the factory restore disc as that failed to work.The installation is complete. I am trying To get my Wi-Fi to work by pressing FN+F2 however it is not working, the Bluetooth icon appears instead which doesn’t work either.I have tried to look for the wifi adapter in the device manager, but it does not exist in the list.I understand that I have to install the drivers. Will that do the trick? I also don’t know what the name of the wifi adapter is, so don’t know which driver to install.
