I have a XPS15 (L502x) for 4 months and my wi-fi is not working anymore.Intel Wi-fi application says that the wireless device is not found.I tried to install drivers, softwares from Intel (Intel PROSet...) but still nothing.
View 5 RepliesI am having trouble with my Wifi Driver. I have tried to install the driver many times but when I restart it shows that Wifi adapter is disabled. When I go to Device Manager to enable, In Network adapter, it shows the driver with the yellow triangle and exclamation mark and is already enabled. I dont know if I am missing anything while installing the driver. Last week I called the Dell support center for the same and they told that they can fix it if they get a remote access. But I can only access the internet via Wifi which is not working.

A few times a day it just suddenly stops working and in the bottom right hand corner of the screen in the internet options section it says currently connected to : unidentified network. when I click connect again it says wireless adapter not found, "Wireless Network Connection"doesn't have a vailid IP configuration. My router broadcasts at 5GHz and 802.11n and despite having a an up-to-date Inetl(R) Wifi Link 1000 BGN driver teh computer does not recognise the network.
I googled and this appeared to be a lot of peoples problems, people who are offering remedies by buying a wireless adpater. URL

My Dell XPS83000 does not find the network card when the PC is started in a "cold" condition. I have to restart the PC 3 - 6 times before the card is found. When the PC is "warm" the card is found without any problem.

All drivers are up to date. This may be related to a Windows update, since the machine were fine for a month or so until an Update came out.

I have an XPS L502x running Windows 7 and a Verizon FiOS connection (Actiontec modem/router). My work laptop (running XP), phone (Android), desktop (Win 8), and my girlfriend's Mac connect to this network fine. But the Dell has consistently had trouble over the year that I've owned it. In the past, I've been able to force it to connect by manually resetting the wi fi, but that didn't work today.
The wi fi will intermittently find the network, fail to connect to the internet, then lose connectivity to the network itself. Windows troubleshooting says I should reset the router (despite all of the other successful connections). This works for a second, but the Dell loses connectivity again (note: I''ve seen that this is associated with McAffee in other questions, but I'm not running McAffee). When I tried running the Intel troubleshooter, it passed all tests but the last one, saying it "Failed to Ping".
Another weird thing (not sure if it's related) is that my computer displays four different Network Adapters in Device Manager. One is the Intel Wireless-N 1000, but there are also two Windows adapters and what looks like a generic PCI driver. If you disable any one of them, you get the Intel "wireless adapter disabled" message. If you uninstall the Windows adapters, both reinstall when you try to connect to the network.
I have a 1 1/2 year old Dell XPS 15 L502x laptop.I have noticed that it has started having network connection issues with the wifi. It connects to all wifi properly but seems to be having issues with the home router recently. Around November 2012 it started. However I fixed the issue then by re-installing the driver.
This time reinstalling the driver did not solve the problem .. I have tried using the driver from intel's website as suggested by a previous forum post on a similar issue. I have alos tried the power settings suggestions by intel and none of these have solved the problem.
I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 7600 pc running on windows 7 home premium and to enable access to our wireless internet I installed a Realtek 8185 wireless pci adaptor. It has worked fine (although not without the occasional blip) but recently it has stopped working. I could connect to our wireless network but connection came with a small exclamation mark on the wireless connection icon in the system tray. I tried reinstalling the most up to date drivers I could find on the realtek download website and this has removed the problem of the exclamation mark with the wireless connection claiming it now has internet access. However the internet is now so slow (vastly slower than before these problems began) I get timed out errors whenever I try to access any web pages. I have ruled out the router being an issue as my two housemates' computers are working just fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently re-installed the driver for the 1390 WLAN Mini Card after not having wireless for a few years, and have a few problems. In the Windows XP Home Network Connections folder, the Wireless Network Connection Icon shows, "Acquiring Network Address", but never gets past that. I ran a diagnostic in the "Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility" and the card passed all the tests, even though with the card switch in the on position the LED doesn't light (??)
When I right click on the Wireless Network Connection Icon and choose, "Status", in the "General" tab I can see that the card is sending out packets, but none are being received. In the "Support" tab under "connection status" the following appears: "Address Type": Invalid IP Address, "IP Address": 0.0.0.0, "Subnet Mask": 0.0.0.0, "Default Gateway": (nothing listed).
Background: I have a Desktop (no brand) and the Dell D820 connected with a Westell Modem and a D-Link WBR-1310 Router. Both computers work great connected to the Router with a cable. Both computers are running Windows XP Home.
The only thing I can think of (and I'm remembering this from 2007 when I purchased the Laptop and had a wireless set up for a short while), is that the Modem and Router were bridged, which is not the case now. Do they need to be bridged for the wireless connection to work? Is it not necessary anymore and something called "Double Netting" or something like that is used...

I just got an XPS 15 (L502X). It comes with the McAfee internet security suite. I tries to connect my other laptop wireless to my XPS 15 through the Intel My WiFi Technology access point option so that i could share my LAN internet connection. Whilst the other laptop connects wireless with the XPS 15. The internet connection sharing only works when i disable the McAfee firewall. How to configure the firewall.

I have a dell xps L502X with windows 8. My network adapter was replaced last month. My DHCP is enabled. My DNS Server reads 192.168.1.1 and it's a home/cable/DSL connection so from what I've read that's right. I've set my IPv4 and IPv6 to automatically detect the DNS server and IP address to use. I've tried to reconfigure the computer to the wireless router, but when I go to set up a new network no networks pop up even though many networks pop up for me to connect to on the right of my screen.
All of my other devices are connected and working fine. That was the background and what I've tried to fix for my problem. When I try to connect to my home network it says it's a limited connection meaning I have no Internet access. When I run the trouble shooter for the network, Internet connections, and network adapter the only one that has an issue is the network one and the issue is that the DNS server isn't responding.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an XPS 15 L502x and I cannot find the bluetooth function on it. Looked everywhere in the device manager and Controll Pannel. Does it mean it doesn't come as standard and you have to upgrade it while choosing your components? I hope niot because it sounds a bit ridiciulous to have a top range model with core i7 and 1080p screen and no bluetooth which is as basic to me as wifi or speakers.

My laptop will not connect at full speed whilst on a wired connection. All my other laptops connect at full gigabit speed OK using the same cable. My XPS will only connect at 100Mbps.I have the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

But for some reason when I'm using that wireless connector my computer won't connect to my router and give me a 192.168.0.x address, it gives me a regular IP address. I can surf the net and everything but I can't access files on other computers. But from it it'll allow me to connect to the router admin fine.Whenever I put the mac address in to my DHCP setting on my router it comes up * RESERVED INACTIVE * and never gives my laptop a local ip address.The other problem is on my 192.168.0.2 computer I've tried to set up port forwarding but it won't open the ports. My router is a Motorola SBG6580 provided by my cable company. This particular computer is connected by Ethernet and not Wifi if that makes a difference.
