Firstly what happens is I coonect to my hub which is a sky router without a problem, the internet isnt a problem and gaming and so on, but from time to time and sometimes once every 15 mins the wireless icon in the bottom of the screen says it has disconnected then a few seconds later it reconnects this may seem trivial but when i am playing games and surfing the web it gets extremely annoying getting cut off. I have tested this on another router and it is the same problem, so i know its not just one isolated router. stop the wireless connection from disconnecting randomly.
I have a fairly new Inpsiron 14z with windows 8 on it. Everything worked great out of the box, but all of a sudden my wireless stopped working. More specifically, it always says that the wifi is off, and pressing alt+f2 only cycles the bluetooth on and off, not doing anything about the wifi. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently buy Dell n5520 Core i3 ( 3rd gen) and have download all the drivers dell have recommended and installed but my WiFi is not working its just connect to my WiFi router then disconnects after 2 or 3 seconds .. While troubleshooting it connects to my WiFi router but then again disconnects and after this disconnect it will never reconnect until I disable and then re-enable the WiFi adapter.
After the driver installation the adapter says that it is working properly , in device manager > network adapter > properties , but actually its not connecting ...

I have a Dell Inspirion M5110. Windows 7, 64 bit.
When ever I open the lid to the laptop it takes 5-10 mins before it will automatically connect to a network. Diagnose this network does not find anything, nor provides any troubleshooting. Typically if I open the network connections center and disable the wireless, let it sit for 30 secs or so, and re-enable, it will finally connect.
I know it's not my router, as the laptop does the same thing at work, and multiple different friends house.
I've confirmed that DHCP is set to automatic connect. I've also checked Device Manager/Network adapters/ and unchecked the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
sometimes the ethernet led is not glowing even if the cable is plugged in. how can i resolve this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA client of mine is using a Cisco 877w wireless router, they have one IP phone connected to one of the RJ45 ports on the back of the router and their main desktop is also plugged directly into the router - this all functions perfectly.However, the router is in a private house and as such it provides connectivity for all other wireless devices such as iPhones, Ipads and Xbox Live etc. The problem is that the router only allows 5 devices to be connected at any one time and when a sixth attempts to connect to the router the first device (the IP phone) is diconnected automatically.
So my client can be using the IP phone for an important call and his son walks in with Iphone and Xbox, friends etc etc and the IP phone is immediatley disonnected from the router. I beleive that the router should allow more than 5 devices to connect and would hope there is a way of stopping the IP phone constantly being disconnected.I have already paid for "Cisco Engineers" to attend this site but they cannot get it working.

This happens pretty frequently, about once a minute or so. It makes doing anything over wifi almost impossible. Plugging in an ethernet cable (directly from modem or from wireless router) keeps the internet connected. My wife's laptop, coincidentally also a Dell, doesn't have this problem. Neither do mine or my wife's iPhones or my kids' Nintendo DSs. I'm totally lost. I've tried uninstalling the adapter, updating it, updating the firmware on the router, changing the power options on the wireless adapter, changing wireless channels, uninstalled and completely removed AVG 2013, tried a clean boot, and more. I just bought a m14x alienware and I have the Killer-Wireless 1202 wireless card on it, and I have a 2Wire router from AT&T running in ch 1 at optimum 10. Also, I have another laptop that connects to the same router and this does not happen to it at all.I can connect to the internet fine but when i start browsing, I randomly disconnect from the internet and connect to it again within seconds, and my laptop never shows that it looses internet. I first noticed it when I was using Skype, i started browsing the internet while I was in a call and that's when it happens most, it disconnects, puts the call on hold and says that I'm offline on skype, and within a few seconds I'm back on. This also happens when I'm gaming and it really becomes a hassle when i have to start the game up again because of these disconnections. Rarely i do see a screen from the actual router to check the wired connections of the router and then test the connection when opening a website (any website), when i press test connection (without doing anything) it tells me that the connection has been resolved and to close my browser and to open a new one. However, most of the times, the pages load fine when I'm browsing, I do notice there is a small lag when the disconnections happen, but the page loads up fine after a few seconds, no need to refresh.
I tried releasing and renewing my IP but i get a message that no action can be taken when media is disconnected? I don't know if that has anything to do with it.I also updated the Wireless 1202 Driver with the bigfoot update, although I'm not sure if i did this right, I unzipped all the files where it told me C:/user/driver/wireless (example) but i never got a window to proceed after that, and when i went to the folder and ran the application, it asked me if I wanted to uninstall all components, which is when i canceled and left the newly created files there.

After some hours my laptop dies, I found it tourned off and it didn't start again. So, afert two days, another technical Dell changed XPS17 's motherboard and the power connector. The same day I worked with my notebook without any problemes, but at the end of my workday I shut down the system (Windows server 2008) and It restart automatically. I tried again more than once, but at the end my laptop restart automatically again (I have two partitions: Win 7 and Win 2008 server Both OS has the same issue: automatic reboot afert shut down). My PC has DLINK DWA 525 PCI WIRELESS card, this supports 802.11g and n. The wireless router is Belkin Surf Wireless Router (F7D2301zb).
Now, the problem i'm facing is when PC is connected first and later when laptop is connected, the computer gets disconnected. Laptop works fine. I have to restart the router to connect both.

We have a Cisco 5508 controller with 1142 LWAP's running version 7.4.100.We have several Dell laptops which will not associate to the access point UNLESS you stand directly underneath it, power off the wireless, turn it back on then eventually the PC will associate to the AP.Once the PC is associated to the AP and user is authenticated then all is well.
Have tried updating the wireless drivers downloaded from both Dell or INTEL. This does not happen to all of our laptops. However, without making any changes to the WLC or the PC's, we have begun to expirence this problem with laptop which previously did not have this issue.

Now it's just a triangle with an exclamation mark saying it has no internet access. I already tried the power management. I am using a router; the other laptops in my house is fine. View 6 Replies View RelatedBasically i'm an employee of a Pro-Gaming team, and as a Job I stream games live, as well as upload game videos to youtube. I've been encountering a problem for a month or so now and had little success of fixing it, which is costing me quite a lot of money and viewers! Basically, I use a program called Xsplit to stream to a website called Twitch.tv (no-one else i've spoken to has the problem I have). I will randomly disconnect/reconnect instantaneously which puts my stream down for 5-10 seconds at a time, then goes back up again. Ultimately the viewing experience is ruined by this and I am on the verge of being replaced!The problem can occur either once a week or once every minute.. it just does it whenever it wants. I have 200mb/10mb internet so my upload should in theory not be an issue.
Things I have tried and done so far:
- Replaced the Ethernet Cables.
- Replaced the Routers.
- Bought a Network Card to try as opposed to my Motherboard port.
- Reformatted my computer and installed a different version of Windows 7 multiple times.
- Spoken to Twitch.tv and Xsplit about their programs as well as used multiple versions of the Xsplit client.
- Spoken to my ISP who say everything is fine.
Router randomly stops working and sometimes reconnects by it self and sometimes I have to manual reset the router. Also I only get 2-3 bars wireless. Is my router not configured properly or damaged?
