I got a HP Pro laptop connected to the network through the Lan. It keeps on disconnecting from the network then am forced to restart the the laptop so that it can connect again. it uses windows 7.
View 1 RepliesI have a HP G62 Laptop that's less then a year old (replacing a Dell we had for several years without problems) and a 2Wire router with ATT DSL that we've also had for years. Ever since we've had the new laptop we've been unable to use the wireless without problems. Periodically, (maybe once an hour or so) if the laptop is connected wirelessly it will make the router disconnect from the internet and cycle off. The router lights all go red, it cycles back on, green lights come on and re-connects.I've had ATT run a line test, had them send technicians here 3 times, they've gone through the house and followed the line to the box, trimming branches on the way. I've gotten a new router and I've tried a USB wireless adapter for the lap top. However, as soon as the wireless is disabled and it's plugged in by ethernet all of the problems go away. This would be fine if it was mostly used at a desktop but it's mostly used on the couch/around the house and the ethernet cables get in the way and keep breaking.

Lately whenever the home phone rings or is in use the DSL cuts out instantly. I have one cordless phone with two handsets. The line going into the phone has an adsl splitter on it. At first i thought mabye a bad splitter so i tried another, yet still got the same problem! Eliminiating that problem im not sure what else to check.

The problem is though that for some reason we all get disconnected in games for instance and some games more than others. Rift disconnects every 30 seconds to 1 minute, World of Warcraft disconnects often, Live Messenger disconnects as well, Age of Empires Online can sometimes work fine for hours, then sometimes disconnect every now and then. Steam doesn't disconnect. Its more or less the same on any of our laptops. (all running Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium or Professional)

I am unable to forward and ports succesfully because after i have saved the settings i check it with a port checking site and it says they're all closed.
I have also been getting disconnected from my router when its under stress (Most recently playing League of Legends) but my Dad's Pc (Which is only connected to the Belkin) still stays connected and hasn't experienced any disconnections.
My router model is F5D7634-4 v2, DHCP is enabled but only my Dad's PC appears, UPnP is enabled but doesn't seem to work and my fireware is up to date.
I used to have a different router before this one which never had these disconnecting problems.
My Internet will disconnect & then reconnect constantly. I have 2 laptops & they are both on my home network & I have no trouble with the other one so I assume there is nothing wrong with both the Internet service & router. The laptop with the problem is an acer/aspire 5720z. The Wireless Network Adapter is a Atheros AR5007EG. When I go to the Adapter Properties the status reads "The device is working properly". When I go to Control Panel>Network & Sharing Center my Wireless Network Connection Signal Strength reads Excellent. The operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium.

Releasing/renewing IP doesn't work. I can always fix it by opening network connections and disabling Local Area Connection and then re-enabling it. However, if I don't do this, the connection stays off indefinitely. The PC that loses connection is on Windows 7 64-bit with Asus P5K integrated ethernet controller with latest drivers. Modem/router is Linksys WAG320N.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I bought a new PC to replace an old laptop that I use in my bedroom. However, initially I couldn't pick up my downstairs router signal. So, I bought a new wireless network card and STILL didn't pick up any signal. I then purchased a Netgear WN200RPT and everything seemed to be ok while using that to repeat the signal up into my bedroom. Then, suddenly, it all stopped working. The WN200RPT would, although showing a full internet connection with no yellow ! or red x's, it would never ever load webpages. So, I removed it and put it back in its box. Then, for some unknown reason after a Windows 7 reinstall, my network card started picking up the signal from my home router and had a good speed and signal. This worked fine for a month or two before it started playing up again. It would randomly slow down and stop loading webpages, or completely lose the signal and show a red x, stating that no signals could be found. The strange thing is, all the other PCs in my house connect wirelessly fine, and so did the laptop that was in the same room as this PC. After a system restore, the internet started working again. Then it stopped. Another restore later, it works. Now it's intermittent again.

I don't get the "your network cable has been unplugged" message, it just stops working for a second or two and starts working again. This has been happening for a few months after a fresh install of windows xp and I haven't really tried to fix it.Every other computer in the house is fine except this one, it can't be the modem because a new one was installed a few days ago and its the same problem. The router was reset within the last week as well. I think the problem is with this computer alone but I don't know where to look. The problem didn't happen for a few days after I put a new network card in, but soon after it continued happening. I also have tried a few different CAT5 cables, even the XBOX one but nothing resolved the issue.

If you were not connected when this happens, you can connect just fine. This happens with all devices in the house, my laptop, my DAP-1522, my cell phone, and my brother's Mac (SMH, sometimes I think we aren't related...). I am running version 2.00NA on B1 firmware.

The issue is a odd one, I will be playing a game League of Legends, Star Craft 2, Diablo 3, or Tera and I am in Team speak then about 5 minutes to an hour I get "Connection has been lost". I am either booted from the game or Team speak, never both. It's completely random when this happens and at times it takes a while (10mins at the longest) for me to log back into what ever program I have been disconnected from other times the reconnection is instant. I have gone through forums, talked to support for the games, had my ISP come out and test my lines and replace my modem and network card, Ping tested, Speed tested and the results were stellar, but I still have the problem and so I feel that the problem is on my end. I have a self built machine, My OS is Windows Vista 64-bit, Mobo-EVGA 132-CK-NF79 2, Processor-2.85 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad.

It was, and the problem is that my router switched to a dynamic IP after comcast installed a security system to my house. If I try to reset the router, the system goes down and takes a helluva long time to get back up. Whenever I try to switch to a static IP, however, I lose internet connection.
