HP Windows 7 PC Can't Access Internet After Lightning Strike?

I unplugged the power to my HP Win7 pc, but left the phone line hooked up to the DSL modem which was connected to the pc. Apparently, we sustained a lightning hit while we were gone. After powering up the pc, I found I had no internet access. Found the modem was bad as well as the monitor. Replaced the modem and monitor, but still no internet. Using an old pc, I have internet access. I'm guessing the motherboard also controls internet access.
I've noticed that for some reason every time I can see a lightning strike outside, whether its far or near, the internet connection will go off for about 10 seconds and then come back on. This is very annoying when I'm playing Xbox Live because it kicks me every time lightning flashes.
my friend and i want to play counter strike online but we can only play on LAN when i tried to connect online i only get connected but my friend didnt get connected i think this is ip adress conflict?
there was a very close lightning strike near my house and my DELL XPS 210 accessed the router before but not after. Noother elctronics, even my 2 other DELL computers were affected. I've eliminated the NIC cables, router port, everything but the actual NIC card. But diagnostics say it's working properly. Could a registry entry have been corrupted (I have a registry backup the day before). Can I replace the Integrated NIC with an internal (or external) NIC? I'm running XP Professional SP3.

i have connected to my pc using an ethernet cable and now i wanna connect my laptop to the modem via wi-fi. i have created proper connction in my laptop and it has got connected to my network but still i am unable to access internet over my laptop. it is displaying connected to network but with no internet access.
I had to reset my windows xp back to factory settings so i lost all my files but the important thing is that i cant get internet access. I have a modem and router and it does say on the computer that they working but still have no access. I tried to feasting everything and still nothing. I'm not sure what else i should do. Did my files get corrupted?
Using Outlook to send & recieve mails from a webmail hoster, I regularly get booted off the internet and am left with the Limited Access message. Usually unplugging the router clears it but it is a nuisance to say the least.I have even tried reverting to a cable but the problem continues.The problem even happens to my wife's Samsung laptop, although the info below is from mine. I own a desktop hp pavilion windows xp that i recently reset to factory settings and now I'm having trouble getting wifi. The other computers in my house work fine with the router, and my computer gets internet through an ethernet cable, so I know it isn't the router. I used to use a d-link G rangebooster desktop adapter to get wifi, and I have tried downloading a driver for it but still no luck. Some of the things I have tried are as follows:
-Renewing IP address -going through new wireless network wizard -unchecking the "IEEE 802.1x authentication" -creating a new network for the "preferred network list" -other random edits that have not worked!
The wireless network connection says signal strength is excellent but status is limited or no connectivity.
I am having trouble getting internet access on my daughters laptop. she has os vista while my pc is windows xp. keep getting connection unsuccessful...this computer is connected to dlink but does not have access to the internet. showing currently connected to unidentified network(dlink) access:local only. took it to a shop where the man connected to his internet straight away? my primary source of internet at my house for the passed year is an at&t 3g usb modem (sierra wireless lightning), becuase i live in the middle of nowhere (only other option is satellite). Up until now i've been using a wireless ad hoc network to share the connection with multiple computers. I just purchased a cradlepoint router that is compatible with my usb modem so I can have a "real" wireless network in my house. I set it up yesterday and so far its working great, I have a wii streaming netflix, an android tablet, an iphone and two laptops (running vista, and win7 respectively) currently connected. The problem is my 3rd laptop, also win7. It is my primary computer that I use for business and absolutely essential that its connected to the internet. It (seems) to connect to the wireless network just fine, but gives me a "no internet access" error.
This laptop will connect to other wireless networks: it always connected to the ad-hoc, it will connect to my wifi at work and the network at my boyfriends house, also i just tried it with the verizon 3g mobile hotspot app on my droid and it connected right away. It also works just fine with a wired connection to this router (ethernet). I'm not sure where to start since every other device in my house is working with this network and this laptop will connect to other wireless networks.
ps/ Going through the windows onscreen troubleshooter it will either tell me "there is a problem with your broadband modem" or "There is a problem communicating with DNS server" (but it wont fix it)... and after going through endless google searches, i've done everything thats been suggested so far (making sure dhcp is enabled, powercycling the router/modem, updating drivers, ipconfig release/renew, disabling the firewall).
I had an issue with my Win 7 networking on LAN but no problem on wifi. When I plug in the network cable, it takes very long time to detect, and when it does, it shows Unidentified Network - No Internet Access and stays as public network. I do not have the normal options to choose Home, Work or Public Network. This happen at my work place. But my colleagues which on Win 7 have no issue. I tried to uninstall the anti-virus, disable the window firewall, but still fails to detect. There are few LAN port at my work place but it produce the same issue, very, very slow to detect.
I have a sony vaio VGN-NW20EF running windows 7, It use to work fine but now I can't access the internet wirelessly. It detects and connects to networks wirelessly and it even says I have internet access but the msg cannot display the webpage keeps coming.
It works fine with the ethernet cable. It works fine wirelessly if I use my mobile phone as a hotspot as it's a HTC HD 2 and works as a router on the go, through the phone's internet. I've restored the computer to the earliest date available and no luck.
I have 2 desktops and a laptop accessing a wireless Motorola modem using roadrunner broadband. My desktop/Vista and laptop/Windows 7 are working fine. My older desktop with XP has a wireless card and shows that the wireless is connected with great signal strength but won't access Internet Explorer. I keep getting an error message. I have tried re-setting up the wireless and shutting down the machine ,etc. I have seen a few older posts that suggest downloading some software, etc
I have a new Windows 7 laptop that is replacing an older XP machine that has successfully operated for a number of years with internet connection sharing from an XP desktop host computer. I am unable to set up the new machine to access the internet. The SysInfo data for the new computer is:

The client has its IP address set automatically by the HOMENET wireless router, along with a manually set gateway address to route internet signals through the host computer rather through the router. I am new to Windows 7 and have not been able to set up the client to see or share files between the host and client when connected by wireless. When connected by a LAN connection to the router, I can see both computers and share files between them, but have not been able to connect to the internet. The Win 7 machine can connect directly to RESNET and access the internet that way but the incoming signal averages about 45% which is far below the level needed for acceptable use.
I've reset the tcp/ip protocols but still im connected to the router but cant access internet I have the latest drivers for my network adapter. I am using windows 7 starter edition.
I'm connected to my router via an Ethernet cable, and on the connection icon I have the yellow triangle and a message indicating I have no internet access...but I do. My internet is fully connected and I have no problems remote connecting to my computer from work, downloading and seeding torrents or browsing websites. Problems is, it seems that Windows THINKING it's not connected is affecting other programs which need to connect to the internet.
I have a couple of computers in my house that work fine with my wireless router, but all of a sudden, my roommate's computer, a Dell Inspiron with Windows 7, is connection to the wireless network but has "no internet access." I've rebooted th.e modem and router, to no avail. I've also tried a number of suggestions online, but without success. My friend's computer has McAfee, with which I'm unfamiliar. The only real difference I cn see between our computers is that she has a different wireless card.
I am running a VPN server on my desktop at home, with all the default settings, and i checked the box that allows clients to connect over the internet. this is win7 x64 computer. I opened up port 1723 with PPTP protocol on my E4200 router.On the client i am running win7 x64 as well. I am able to connect to the vpn, from another internet connection, but there is no local network acess. It says the status is No Internet Access. and the IP that is assigned is the 169.x.x.x one that windows defaults when it doesnt find a dhcp server.How can i get the client to connect with full local network access. Right now being connected to the vpn, it means nothing, i have no access other than being "connected".
Two days since i had a power shutdown in my building so i had to disconnect both the modem and the routerfter i reconnected them my wireless network is shown and i can connect through my hp laptop but it keeps showing the Message "unidentified network not internet access". I recently had my Internet disconnected, and decided to share my iPhone's Internet connection (tether) with my PC. Now, the iPhone connection works, but for some reason my PC prefers to use my original Internet connection thus no connection. The only way I can access the Internet is by going into adapter settings and disabling my router, but I do not want to do this as I have other computers on the network and I often share files.
I am now unable to access the internet with my Dell 560 running windows7. I have Verizon Fios for internet access. Windows network diagnostics reports that the connection between my access point,router or cable modem and the internet is broken and the network gateway is accessible but windows could not receive network traffic from the internet. Verizon's in-house -agent reports that there seems a connection problem between my router and the wall jack. I am able to access the internet with another computer and the the same router. I also have no problems with my iPad. I have interchanged cables and ports on the router.
I bought my laptop 4 weeks ago. It has Windows 8 on it. It worked great until this week. At first, Google Chrome quit working. Then IE quit. I connect wirelessly. It says it is strong, but no Internet access. I do have connectivity on my phone to that router.

I have a hp laptop, it's about two years old. I can connect to my wireless network, but i have no internet access. I also have a macbook, and it's accessing my wireless network perfectly fine.

why I have perfect internet access on my Desktop and other lap top but on my Toshiba Windows 7 I get the "Identifying...""No Internet Access" every time. Ive tried deleting the bonjour service.
It is a Satelite 733. Have pinged without any response however the wifi or hardwire will show connected to the local net.I have four other units surfing the web fine and wifi picks up ok except for one unit that my neighbor need will not connect no matter what. Have updated all the drivers, uninstalled and re-installed devices, reset ip, dumped the dns several times, etc.So here is the ipconfig stuff....ignore the cable connect I only have the wifi on at the moment. I have stared at this to the point where I know naathing .Is the tunnel adaptor the indication that the card is out? I have a Windows XP Laptop and an Windows 7 Starter Netbook. I have recently changed internet provider, returned the previous (Netgear) router and configured a new (D Link) router. Prior to the change of internet provider, both laptops could connect wirelessly without issues.After installing the new router provided by new internet provider, my Windows XP laptop can connect to the internet wirelessly without problems, the signal is strong and the speeds decent. My Windows 7 Netbook can connect to the network and to the internet, however, the speed on it is so low that pages do not load at all. Whilst it remains connected (the connection does not drop), it does not display web pages. Occasionally it displays a page or two, and it seems the problem is fixed, but this lasts no longer than a few minutes, after which it starts displaying "white" pages again. When the connection to the router is wired, the problem disappears and I can access the internet and the pages load well, so the problems is strictly a Wi Fi connectivity issue.
The Windows 7 Starter Netbook that has this problem at home, connects to every single other network I have had the chance to test it on (at work, at internet cafes, at my parents, at my sisters) and it also used to work flawlessly with my home network before I changed internet provider. On all other networks, it works really well.The new (D Link) router seems to work, otherwise my Windows XP laptop would also be having problems... but it doesn't.So both the new (D Link) router and my Windows 7 Starter Netbook work well separately. They just don't work together!I have tried a number of things: restarting the Netbook, restarting the router, re-installing Windows 7 Starter completely, disabling the network adapter and re-enabling it, updating the network driver, unprotecting the network completely, disabling Windows Firewall, disabling antivirus,changing the channels on the router, placing quartz crystals next to both devices and chanting. As far as settings on the router is concerned, I have checked that they are the basic default ones that technical support are recommending.

My Laptop stopped having internet access. I am able to connect to my Linksys (says Limited Access) but then it states I do not have internet access. I read other forums and tried to do the "command prompt" but when I try to run as administrator it tells me "The specified service does not exist as an installed service". I am using Windows Vista and McAfee as my spyware.
