HP Laptop Can't Access Internet With Wireless Router
Apr 20, 2012I have a HP laptop and unable to access the internet using a router. What should I do? I can use the lab top hooking it to the cable.

Laptop Connects To Wireless Router But No Internet Access
Aug 18, 2012After a couple of hours using the internet, the connection stopped. The wireless router still had an 'Excellent' signal, but it also said I had no internet access. All of the other wireless devices in my house connect to the internet perfectly, including when right next to the laptop.I've tried disabling the firewall and resetting the computer a few times, but nothing seems to pick up the internet access. The troubleshooting guide tells me that it is a problem with the wireless modem, but quite obviously that isn't true.

Zyxel Router Vsg1432 Won't Give Laptop Wireless Internet Access?
Sep 15, 2012Just recently got a Zyxel VSG1432 router connected to the main computer in my home. I am now trying to connect my laptop wirelessly. It will connect to the router but says it is an unidentified network and it doesn't connect to the internet. There is an x in the network and sharing window.I have tried restarting the router, going to the router webpage and resetting to factory settings, none of this worked. Also contacted the service provider and spoke with two tech guys, but still no luck.

Trying to access the internet with a dell laptop after my daughter messed with the router. She gave me the passowd but when I try to log in from the laptop that has never been logged on since the pw changed, I get a message that wants the network key. I have read several posts about getting the network key but didn't see a network key.I have cisco connect on a different computer and can access the details of the router but haven't found the network key. I can get to Wireless, Wireless Security and the security mode is WPA2/WPA. I can see the password but where is the network key?

The laptop connects to it, but it shows me that it does not have internet access.I also have a belkin router that I also use. So, when I have the connectivity issues, I connect to the other router. When I use the Cisco Connect application, it goes on for a couple of minutes and then gives the message "If you are not connected to my router SSID name you can't update your router settings".

Jun 17, 2011Recently got a BT hub for wireless internet, and although the hub says everything is running fine, my laptop cannot get internet access. It can connect to the BT hub through wireless ok, but then it doesnt get internet access.
If i look at my network map ( in control panel -> network and internet) it shows that i'm connected to the Hub ok, then the Hub is connected to the 'gateway' ok (?!? dont know what this is ), but then the gateway is not connected to the internet. Laptop Connected But Says No Internet Access
Mar 30, 2012Everything worked fine until I went to move my desk to a different area and had to unplug everything. Upon plugging everything back up - my desktop internet works fine, but the laptop says "Connected but no internet access". I've tried working on it for 2 hours unplugging and replugging cords back up and I can't get any internet access on my laptop. I am using a cable modem. Currently I have the blue ethernet cord running from the modem, directly into my computer. I also have a grey cord that apparently was plugged into the router somehow but I don't remember how exactly I had this one plugged up. The cable modem only has one jack, for "ethernet". The router is a Linksys WRT54G and has 4 numbered (1-4) jacks in the back and then one jack for "internet". The laptop is running Windows 7, and the desktop (which the internet runs fine on right now) is running Vista.

Jan 29, 2011I have been having issues with my home network since upgrading my router from a WRT54GS to an E4200. Prior to this I had no difficulty in accessing my home group or my home network. I have 2 laptops, both are running Windows 7 Ultimate, one is x64 and one is x32.
Laptop 1 (x-64) can access my home network in all its glory ONLY wirelessly...plug in the Ethernet cable and I can't access laptop 2 or my network storage...Laptop 1 is also unable to join my homegroup even after deleting the old one and creating a new one.
Laptop 2 (x-32) can access my home network in most of its glory ONLY wired...unplug the Ethernet cable and I can't access my network storage and it becomes unavailable to Laptop 1 over the network. Laptop 2 is also not able to connect to Laptop 1 even though Laptop 1 can (sometimes) access files from Laptop 2's shared folders.
Also Laptop 2 cannot see a home group created by Laptop 1, but can create a homegroup that Laptop 1 can see but CAN'T join.I have run all the trouble shooters that the system throws at me to no avail, they all say that I have an unknown network error that it can't fix.I do have internet access on both laptops regardless of wired or wireless, and I spent over 2 hours with Cisco "senior" tech support only to be disconnected and realize that they had no clue about this new router..

It connects me to the internet, but then after a few minutes on the task bar where it tells you what you are currently connected to a yellow (!) shows up. I have other computers in the house (3 laptops, sometimes 4, and 2 desktops) that do not have any issues connecting or staying connected to the internet. Aug 7, 2011I started off with my dl speed around 2 years ago at about 210kbs. Not the best but because i live in a rural area i was happy enough. But now my connection has dropped massivly to 40kbs being the peak. The internet was faster in the stone ages -_-. Anyway, i want to figure out if its the wires in the area being faulty or as someone told me it might be my wireless router (Netgear). I'm trying to plug my laptop directly into the internet without the use of wireless to find out if it is the router being the problem. The only cable i could find an ethernet to ethernet cable. I've tried plugging into router and a bit that said modem and tried to set up a connection. It didnt work so connect my laptop to the internet without the wireless router.
