Now I am unable to find the driver and unable to acctivate wireless.
The dell driver page shows most of the intel drivers though.
Also I tried installing "

Mar 30, 2010I have a used Inspiron 6000 and obviously the recovery CD doesn't contain the driver for my WiFi.
So, like any normal and quite capable PC user, I went to the Dell site and entered the Service Tag. So far so good. However, no driver to be found for my Wireless component. Believe me, I attempted to install ALL Communication and Network drivers available. The message I got in the wizard was always "Installation not possible. Please contact your administrator". I tried to phone, got stuck in a waiting line for 11 minutes 35 seconds, which I mentioned before ripped me off for €10 and then the line went dead. All mails have been so far left unanswered. Angry doesn't come close.
Without telling me to go to Microsoft or Dell or any other obscure website which then leads me back to Dell, where I can get the proper WiFi (WLAN for you modern machine users..) Network controller driver for my notebook, which is a Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook.

Jul 12, 2011I have a Packard Bell Laptop using Windows XP OS and doesn't have Wireless Connection. So long ago i bought a Linksys by Cisco Wireless-G Notebook Adapter WPC54G v.1.2 but didn't have time to set it up or use it for travelling conditions. A couple years later when i came back to check on the laptop, i noticed that i lost the setup CD. So i went on the Linksys website and looked for the driver the download. On the back of the Adapter(card) it says it is version 1.2. But this version is unavailable on the Linksys Website. I could only find v.1, 2,3,3.1 and 7. v.1 gives a driver of v3.1 etc... AND NOT VICE-VERSA.So first when i inserted the card into the slot , the PC didnt detect it. It only detected it rarely if i insert another driver (eg: USB..). And so a window would pop up to install but i didnt know what to do there. When i downloaded the v.1 driver from the website and installed it, it seemed not the detect the card either, it would just say searching for wireless, but that's it. It would keep searching for hours even when im next to the router.finally, only the Power led light on the card is lit up but not the "Link" led.

You can connect fine on all the others. I am running Windows 7 SP1, and in the network window, I can see the computers, but when I click on them to connect, it says "The network path was not found". If I access them via their IP in windows explorer, then I can access them . I have never seen this before. I attempted to disable Norton, I even un-installed it, and it still does the same thing.

Feb 24, 2011I have 2 Windows 7 desktops that are both connected to seperate vonage boxes and those vonage boxes are connected to my D-Link DIR-655 router. That D-Link router is getting its connection from a Comcast router. I am looking to get one of the desktops to share a printer from the other one which has it hard wired via USB cable. When I first set this up I did not have the vonage boxes and the desktops were connected right into the router and everything worked fine. Now that the vonage boxes are in place it is a mess. I can get internet fine on both machines, but no file/printer sharing. I have followed all the steps to setup the correct workgroup and file and printer sharing options on both windows 7 machines but they cannot see each other at all. My feeling is that now that the vonage boxes are there that instead of the desktops looking at the D-Link router for its sharing option they are looking at the vonage boxes and that is why they cant be seen. Does this make sense? Is there a firewall on the vonage boxes stopping these two desktops from seeing each other? Do I have to change something on the D-Link router options for it to give access to the vonage boxes for these 2 machines to see each other for printer/file sharing?

Mar 19, 2012Have been running win 2000 pro for last 5 yrs with trendnet pcitxr 1 gigabit nic card. Never had any problem running & connecting. Now cannot access internet @ 1 gigabit, ok @100mbit, for the most part. sometimes browser will lock-up, firefox or IE. Never had any problems like this before. Have changed nic card, replaced cable modem, wires. Have delete trendnet software and reloaded, ran winsock fix, move router cables, ran directly from cable modem, bypassing router, move nic to new slot, ran ipconfig /release & reset. All to no avail. when I ping comes back good. NIC cards I have tried all seem to be working.
