Linksys Wireless Router :: Firefox Cannot Access WRT120N Setup But IE Can

Jan 7, 2011

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for about 5 or 6 years now, and I have always been able to access any router setup through Firefox. Now though, I strangely can't. I try to log in from Firefox and I get stuck at the log in dialog box even if I use the correct password. If I cancel, the router assumes that I do not know the password and I get the standard Linksys access denied page. I then start using IE[current version], and I can log in absolutely fine. I can still use Firefox to browse the internet. I can ping the router. I can use Firefox to access the router setup from a different machine.

Cisco Firewall :: Setup ASA 5520 To Correctly NAT Over Two Wan Links

Jan 18, 2012

I need to setup an ASA 5520 to correctly NAT over two wan links. The idea sounds pretty straingforward but it does not, I have only 2 IPs that are involved with the NAT Server) -- Server)
I have 2 interfaces that sould be applied to it let's say outside1, outside2. The server is reacheable through each outside interface, the outside interfaces is selected uppon dynamic routing and that is working OK.
So if link outside1 is up the Nat follows this schema --
that works fine, but I want that automagically changes over when the link outside1 is down to -- know I can't have a NAT with 2 IPs and 2 different interfaces (ASDM doesn't allow me to), is there a way to implement this??

I figured the best way to do this is by setting the proxy on my router to the one I am running, but then I would need to have another connection to the computer running the proxy or else there would be an infinite loop ?? something like that. so:

Internet -> router (1) -> my proxy on comp A -> router (2) -> computer B

Security / Firewalls :: Using Non-proxy Software Through Proxy?

Mar 31, 2012

I access the internet from my companys LAN, which has a restrictive firewall, so I cannot request the admin to open any ports manually for me. Hence I use a software called your-freedom. This proxy software supports both http as well as socks 4 and 5 proxy (by entering the proxy IP (localhost) and Port 8080 for http proxy OR 1080 for Socks Proxy), and I have successfully been using web browsers and some other softwares that support proxy/ allow proxy info to be entered to login/ connect to the internet. Your-Freedom also supports port forwarding.However, the softwares I intend to use do not have any options to enter proxy methods or proxy ports (as far as I have noticed). I have tried to proxify these 2 softwares using softwares such as SocksCap and Free Cap, but either they dont work, or my settings in proxifying are not correct. I believe I will have to do port forwarding or proxify the softwares, but have been unable to do so in the correct manner.

Following is the info on the 2 softwares:

1.NOW Trading terminal:[FONT=Times New Roman]Normally when I start the NOW or Zerodha software, the software starts and I get a login screen, but under firewall conditions, I get the initial Splash screen but then the software stops with the error: [b][u]NOW Initialisation failed for Interactive Engine << os error>>.

2.PowerIndia Bulls:The software is written in Java and starts with a batch file (PowerIndiabulls.bat) located in C:UsersDEFAULT_USERNAMEAppD..... I converted this batch file to .exe (with battoexe software) and then ran it through a proxifying software. The .exe start properly without proxifying software but not under proxifying environment. Basically the software needs to connect to the internet using Port 443. I am also expected to keep ports 443, 41599 and 59598 open. software's requirement is available at Indiabulls Securities: Indiabulls Securities is a leading capital market company offering securities broking and advisory services, depository services, equity research services to its clients in India. (item no. 5).To confirm, while the software is unable to connect through port 443, you will get an error message: "Connection to Login Server could not be established" when you try to login with any random Username and Password.To know that the software is able to connect properly, you will get an error: "This User ID is not enabled to be used with this product".

Can't Connect To The Internet Using Firefox Or Chrome

Aug 6, 2012

I cannot connect to the internet using firefox or chrome but there's no problem with internet explorer. This happened after I installed and uninstalled speedbit video accelerator. When opened chrome, it gave me the following

(net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED): Unknown error.

After the problem occurred, I rebooted the system, uninstalled firefox and chrome, freshly downloaded firefox (from IE) and the problem persists. I couldn't download chrome because chrome installer says it can't connect to the
internet. Following are the details regarding my system and software.

o/s : windows 7 ultimate
internet explorer : 9.0.8112.16421 64 bit
firefox : 14.01

I tried stopping the firewall and the problem persists. Can't access router via firefox too!! Firefox doesn't give an error it just gives a blank page (about:home).

If this is a dns problem, how come it doesn't affect IE ?? Why can't utorrent listen on listen port ??

Can't Connect To The Internet Using Firefox Or Chrome?

Dec 13, 2012

Am experiencing the same problem where IE can connect to internet, but not Chrome, although the only change to my desktop PC (WinXP SP3) was a windows update. This issue seems to be quite common among all Windows OS because when I queried "can't connect chrome to internet" I've found over 50 posts at various forum describing your issue (and mine). I have also eliminated firewall, antivirus, etc and obviously since IE can get on the network connection is is/was yours. Looking more closely I'm thinking that somehow the specific port on outbound is not being accessed by Chrome/Firefox because I used a sniffer and see no request leave my pc and verified no request through my router either.

The winsock catalog in a namespace server configuration listing right? How would you explain that resetting the winspace catalogue fixes the issue?Wand3r3r said it was malware, but I'm quite sure we don't have that issue...I know my machine doesn't and this has occured on the library PCs also. I wan't to find sure fix and understand what is happening on the Windows stack, so that I can assuredly deploy Chrome on a student network and not see this re-occuring all over the place.

Can't Start Privoxy On Firefox Tor / Vidalia

Jan 19, 2011

I am on Windows 7 with the Tor/Vidalia proxy package. After downloading Privoxy 3.0.17 and installing the program, I get the following message when I try to start it: "Fatal error: can't bind Privoxy to 8118. There may be another Privoxy or some other proxy running on port 8118". Most assuredly, I have never installed Privoxy before and I don't know which other proxies may be running on Port 8118. Aside from Tor/Vidalia, the only other proxy I am running alternatively with Tor for anonymity is Jap-JonDo. It is also confusing that most web sites mention a Vidalia bundle containing Privoxy, but none of the bundles actually contains it. They all have Polypo instead. I hear that Privoxy is recommended, but how do I get it running, with the message I got?

IE And Firefox Stopped Displaying Webpages

Aug 25, 2012

I have a desktop and bought a wireless adapter to hook up to my apartment complex's wireless network through cox. We have had no connection issues for several weeks.Randomly, both IE and Firefox stopped displaying webpages. Firefox displays the message "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."Our apartment complex has tech support, so I called him and we went over so many things. The issue, as he says, is that when I do an ipconfig /release, I SHOULD be showing, under my wireless adapter, the ivp4 address as When I do the release, it shows no ivp4 address, period. It shows I have, and am connected to, the internet and the connection. My apartment complex has 5 different wireless connections I can try, and all result in the same problem. I am able to ping google, yahoo, etc, but when I try to ping my apartment complex's wireless connection (their router) it fails.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless adapter and software, system restore, reinstalling windows, restarting the WAN service under services.smc, unchecking ivp6 under my wireless adapter properties. I have tried disabling McAfee and Windows Firewall. I have no idea what else I can do.I also should note that I have 2 computers of the exact same model, and both present this same exact problem when I connect the wireless adapter to it, so it leads me to believe it is something to do either with the adapter or something with the connection from the adapter to the router. (I can connect to the wireless connection but not to the router itself to login to my complex's internet agreement page.)I have Windows 7 32-bit. I was in the process of signing up for Netflix when this happened, and did not download anything.
