View 1 RepliesI've had problems with my net connection at home, Skype is working; at least just for IM, i haven't tried phone / web cam functions, but nothing else will, Firefox / IE can't load any pages, Live Messenger won't sign in, etc etc. I've had a few phone calls with my ISP who ended up running a line test and they insist that everything there end is fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not able to connect to any webpages in normal mode, even after restarting i still have the same problem [However it works in safe mode with networking]. The network connections show that it is connected and the signal strength is excellent. I then have to keep restarting the laptop like 3 to 4 times and it works. Its kind of frustrating to keep doing this all the time and besides i am scared by restarting the laptop so many time can harm it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try to use Firefox, no matter what website I try to go to, I get the message that firefox can't connect to the server. Whenever I try to go on safari, I get the message that it can't connect to the internet. However, when I use Opera, everything works fine, so it's not something wrong with my internet. At the same time, the website omegle stopped working for me, I don't know if this is related. When I open firefox, I also get the message "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined". I don't know what that means, but it's probably involved.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am setting up a Linux apache and bind server to test the behaviour of Windows XP,Vista, 7 and Mac OS X.I have setup a apache and bind already and they were tested individually. I used Firefox and IE to access the apache page by type in the IPv6 address and the page was showed correctly. And I have tried to query the AAAA record of a local zone "testing.com" in my Bind server using nslookup and the result is good too. However, it is strange that I cannot get it work if I type in the FQDN "http://testing.com" in Firefox and IE. I tried to capture the IPv6 traffic in Wireshark (Attached in this post) and there are no DNS query when I try to access the page. Is there anything that I have to set to get it work properly?(Actually I have tested the same thing on Mac OS X and Vista too but the result is the same)Below is my Windows 7 network setting and some nslookup query:

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy internet connection is definitely ok, i could surf the web etc, i can dl other things EXCEPT all online lectures from my uni's site. The download is stuck at a few kbs/sec and it wont move, no progress or anything but later on it automatically states that download is completed. And the file doesnt amount to its rightful size which is a few MB. I used to be able to dl without any problem, this occurred quite suddenly. It happen few months ago, I thought maybe to give it some time and it would be ok.ut Ive tried many times and I dont think it is anything with my uni's site because ive tried to dl the same file with another computer which is successful. I tried switching browers, reinstalling my browsers and turned off my firewall but they wont work.

If this is a dns problem, how come it doesn't affect IE ?? Why can't utorrent listen on listen port ??

View 1 Replies View RelatedAm experiencing the same problem where IE can connect to internet, but not Chrome, although the only change to my desktop PC (WinXP SP3) was a windows update. This issue seems to be quite common among all Windows OS because when I queried "can't connect chrome to internet" I've found over 50 posts at various forum describing your issue (and mine). I have also eliminated firewall, antivirus, etc and obviously since IE can get on the internet..my network connection is fine...as is/was yours. Looking more closely I'm thinking that somehow the specific port on outbound is not being accessed by Chrome/Firefox because I used a sniffer and see no request leave my pc and verified no request through my router either.
The winsock catalog in a namespace server configuration listing right? How would you explain that resetting the winspace catalogue fixes the issue?Wand3r3r said it was malware, but I'm quite sure we don't have that issue...I know my machine doesn't and this has occured on the library PCs also. I wan't to find sure fix and understand what is happening on the Windows stack, so that I can assuredly deploy Chrome on a student network and not see this re-occuring all over the place.
Well I just built a new computer but I didn't buy a wireless card because I figured I could just use the one from my previous computer. The problem, however, is that I can't seem to find the wireless card at all. All I see is a sound card and a video card plugged in so how was I able to get wireless internet on the computer in the first place?
For what it's worth the motherboard is a M2N68-LA

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am on Windows 7 with the Tor/Vidalia proxy package. After downloading Privoxy 3.0.17 and installing the program, I get the following message when I try to start it: "Fatal error: can't bind Privoxy to 127.0.0.1: 8118. There may be another Privoxy or some other proxy running on port 8118". Most assuredly, I have never installed Privoxy before and I don't know which other proxies may be running on Port 8118. Aside from Tor/Vidalia, the only other proxy I am running alternatively with Tor for anonymity is Jap-JonDo. It is also confusing that most web sites mention a Vidalia bundle containing Privoxy, but none of the bundles actually contains it. They all have Polypo instead. I hear that Privoxy is recommended, but how do I get it running, with the message I got?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop and bought a wireless adapter to hook up to my apartment complex's wireless network through cox. We have had no connection issues for several weeks.Randomly, both IE and Firefox stopped displaying webpages. Firefox displays the message "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."Our apartment complex has tech support, so I called him and we went over so many things. The issue, as he says, is that when I do an ipconfig /release, I SHOULD be showing, under my wireless adapter, the ivp4 address as 0.0.0.0. When I do the release, it shows no ivp4 address, period. It shows I have, and am connected to, the internet and the connection. My apartment complex has 5 different wireless connections I can try, and all result in the same problem. I am able to ping google, yahoo, etc, but when I try to ping my apartment complex's wireless connection (their router) it fails.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless adapter and software, system restore, reinstalling windows, restarting the WAN service under services.smc, unchecking ivp6 under my wireless adapter properties. I have tried disabling McAfee and Windows Firewall. I have no idea what else I can do.I also should note that I have 2 computers of the exact same model, and both present this same exact problem when I connect the wireless adapter to it, so it leads me to believe it is something to do either with the adapter or something with the connection from the adapter to the router. (I can connect to the wireless connection but not to the router itself to login to my complex's internet agreement page.)I have Windows 7 32-bit. I was in the process of signing up for Netflix when this happened, and did not download anything.
I've never had a router or network in my place and I've just bought a DIR-825. I previously had a DIR-615? but returned it because I was having this problem. Now I'm still having it with the 825.When I use IE or Mozilla Firefox(preferred) I can usually navigate 2-3 pages before the program stalls and goes (Not Responding) for about 15-20 seconds before it starts going again. Then it repeats again in about another 3-4 pages or so.
I've got the times set for my router and I'm using Firmware 2.03NA-RevB
StartSSL offers free SSL certificates, so I'm guessing that means no Warning messages from browsers IE,Chrome, firefox atleast? Has anybody used this StartSSL certificate lvl1 is free..I'd tryed this myself but my hosting company is charging twice more for having ssl(just having it not even buying) than for hosting my website.
