View 2 Replies View RelatedWell I just built a new computer but I didn't buy a wireless card because I figured I could just use the one from my previous computer. The problem, however, is that I can't seem to find the wireless card at all. All I see is a sound card and a video card plugged in so how was I able to get wireless internet on the computer in the first place?
For what it's worth the motherboard is a M2N68-LA

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently it has been really slow (less than 300kb/s) and I am tired of it. I want to use wired again but the modem and router are in my basement. Running an Ethernet cable from the router to my room is a last resort. I currently have Cox Internet, Telephone, and Cable. I do have a cable supplying internet to my room, so that is not my concern. How can I move my modem and router without losing phone service? Can it be any phone cable or does it have to be one connected to a special outlet as the modem currently is?

The download is stuck at a few kbs/sec and it wont move, no progress or anything but later on it automatically states that download is completed. And the file doesnt amount to its rightful size which is a few MB. I used to be able to dl without any problem, this occurred quite suddenly. It happen few months ago, I thought maybe to give it some time and it would be ok.ut Ive tried many times and I dont think it is anything with my uni's site because ive tried to dl the same file with another computer which is successful. I tried switching browers, reinstalling my browsers and turned off my firewall but they wont work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have the following set up in my basement: Modem to 8 port router which has cables going into a patch panel which in turn provides internet access at 8 wall outlets throughout the house. My data/video streaming needs are expanding and I have had additional wiring pulled to the new locations. I would like to know if I can bypass the patch panel and go from the Modem to a 24 port switch to individual wall plates throughout the house.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are currently four computers in the house, all running Windows 7. Two of them are wired using homeplugs (different brands) and two of them are wireless.
I've tried using Homegroups but this never seems to work.Now that I have all the computers using the same OS I want to start from scratch and set up a basic home network so I can move files around between computers.
I have three pier to pier computers (two Win 7, one XP). I have a new server on the way (HP Mediasmart EX495 with Window Home Server). What is the best way to gather all the files from the three machines and move them to the server and eliminate dedundancy? Is there an efficient and recommended procedure, or should I just block out a few days and hunker down for the big task...

View 3 Replies View Relatedim trying to move the config from an 3750 to 3750 PoE but without using the PoE options.I have allready download the config with tftp and upload it to the 3750 PoE. Now the new config is stored on the PoE switch but some of the old setting are still there. Not sure why, i think the config only overwrite the settings which are in the conf file and the setting which are not in the conf file but enabled on it will stay on the switch.After the upload of the config file I deleted all the config I do not need by hand.They are some settings i can't delete and I don't know why, this are the sittings:
1. each fastethernet port has this option: "no cdp enabled" this entry was no availble on the old switch, is the any possiblity to remove this entry?
2. the same for "no mls qos rewrite ip dscp"
3 and for this one "vlan internal allocation policy ascending"
I'm trying to move some configurations over to an ASA5510 and some of the commands are a bit different than I'm used to (worked on old pix before)
I've configured the following on the device:
Outside interface: 65.66.64.34/28
DMZ : 65.66.64.49/28
Inside : 10.2.3.3/26
===========================
The current firewall has the below configured on it (old Juniper)
10.2.3.0/24 gateway 10.2.3.15 **10.2.3.15 is the IP for 3750 switch on the inside LAN**
10.0.0.0/24 gateway 10.2.3.4 **10.12.175.4 internal vpn- will remove later but thats a different discussion**
0 0 gateway 65.66.64.33 **to internet
10.0.1.0 gateway 10.2.3.2 **10.2.3.2 represents mpls traffic
[code]...
The current set up for this network has an mpls router and a vpn concentrator as part of the network my aim currently is to replace the juniper with an asa5510 the changing of the vpn tunnels will be for a different time:
work station ===> switch (3750) DG to =====> MPLS (vendor owned and managed) ====> non mpls traffic ====> vpn concentrator ===>firewall ===> router
The above will need acls to go with the routes, which I should manage ok just want to make sure the routing is configured properly

Steps (this what I think should be done):
1. Find all packets from A by acl
2. Route finded packets throught cisco1841 directly to internal ip address
It should be easy but it doesn't.
I am currently using g0/3 for failover between my two ASA5520's. I would like to move that to the management interface to free up g0/3 for a second DMZ segment. are there any implications to doing this live other than i would only have a single ASA during the move?

First off let me start by saying I am quite green when it comes to this equipment, I managed to get this project up and running with the equipment manuals, tech notes, forums and a lot of google work.
This setup has been up and running now for around 4 years with little to no maintenance or monitoring, I have been getting a few reports of users not being able to move from one area to the next without getting disconnected from our wireless, all of our users (about 400 or so) are running on newer Lenovo laptops on Windows XP SP3.
I know this is extremely light in substance with regards to troubleshooting, but where would be a good starting point to begin with this issue?
We use one RADIUS server with Layer 2 WPA WPA2 AES security.
I have a Windows 2003 SP2 server with a shared folder. This folder is accessed by 2 people on a regular basis. The problem we are experiencing is when a folder is created by user A, it cannot be moved by user B (and vice versa), as it says the folder is in use.The exact error is: Error Moving File or Folder.Cannot move <filename>: Access is denied.Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.I have explicitly set full control for both users on the folder. The drive has 70GB of 500GB remaining. I have also used File Server Management to verify the files were not in use when they were being moved.The server is Windows 2003, SP2. Domain environment, with all relevant users having permissions on the folder, and the everyone account removed. Any other operation inside the shared folder works fine.

We have several of these bridges hanging around; would like to move them one at a time from our 1030WLSE to our 5508WLC (software 7.0.235, so they're compatible).The bridges are all connected to power injectors (AIR-PWRINJ-BLR2). With our 1200's, we apparently just unplug power, hold mode button, plug in power, release mode after about 4 seconds, and they find the new controller (I haven't tried it yet to confirm, but that's what Google...err...Cisco...says will work!). But obviously there's no "mode" or reset button on either the power injector or the bridge itself.
(Other than "shut down the old controller and the bridges and APs will find the new controller". I'll do that at some point, but want to test first with some spare bridges / APs.)
i'm looking to change my pix 506e for an rv042,is it a bad move or a good move ? is the rv042 much better than the 506e? i want to change to an rv042 because it's easier to manage! 506e is currently doing this :

As I am planning to deploy FWSM Module in 6513 chassis and need your valuable comments regarding the strategy that I create for this deployment.Initially (Without FWSM Deployment) all internal traffic moves in this manner.
7613(G9/5) --> 6513(G10/4) --> ISA (Internal Int.) [NATing] (ISA External Int.) -->
6513(G9/45){This is L2 port in VLAN 164} --> VLAN 164(SVI Int,IP:192.168.40.20) -->
(G9/44){This is L2 port in VLAN 164}--> ASR 1002 -->Router -->Internet.
As you can see from the Image that I am planning to deploy FWSM in transparent mode in between VLAN 164(SVI Int,IP:192.168.40.20) -[FWSM here]->(G9/44){This is L2 port in VLAN 120}By putting Inside interface of FWSM in VLAN 164 and create a new VLAN on 6513 i.e VLAN 120 and put G9/44 in it.know will this configuration will work regarding the passing of traffic through FWSM ? what improvement I have to made in this design. You can check the attached diagram.
We will be moving to a new data center in the very near future and with them our WAN IP addresses will be changing. Any best course of action for changing the IP addresses throughout the firewall configuration? Would it be possible/suggested to export the running-config, make the neccessary changes, then import the config? I am familiar with the ASA 5510 only so far as changes are required. It is not something I work with on a regular basis.
