for about the last month my internet has become extremely unstable. It is fine sometimes, but for the majority of the time there is a decent amount of ping. There are also times where the internet will just crash altogether, requiring a modem reset, which only seems to fix the ping momentarily.

It will be fine for 20-30 minutes and then will spike up to anywhere from 4000 to 6000 latency and give me a constant disconnect for 2-7 minutes. When I was done I directly connected it to my 2wire modem with the Ethernet cable.There was no connection until I downloaded the LAN driver from the CD that came with the motherboard [ASUS M5A88-V EVO ATX]. It worked for a few days and then the connection just started dropping. The trouble shoot in Windows 7 fixed it - but only for a while until it didn't work at all. Restarting the computer restored the connection and usually gave me about a few hours to work with, but a few days later all I had were a few minutes. Other than this computer I have two laptops [Windows 7] and a desktop [Windows XP] which the internet runs smoothly on when hardwired to the modem and I didn't have to install anything. View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the past week my internet has been extremely slow, I can watch a South Park episode online and it'll take me at least one hour before I can watch the entire thing because it keeps buffering every 20 seconds. I can barely browse MMO-Champion because it takes one minute to load. Every site takes forever to load. And it's just on my stationary computer. My laptop and mobile phone works just fine. It feels like I've tried everything:
* I've cleaned cache and cookies and stuff like that with CCleaner.
* I've used my console and done all that ipconfig stuff with /flushdns etc etc
* I've used my console and done all that netsh stuff as well
* I've tried to reset my router
* I've tried to use that Microsoft Fix-It program to do whatever it does.
* I've looked through my computer with my anti-virus and anti-malware
* I've installed the latest drivers for my network card/adapter
* I've fixed options on the computer that would allow my computer to perform better
* I've purchased another wireless adapter just to see if that was the problem
* And finally, yes, I've tried restarting the computer
My laptop has a very unstable connection and I am completely stumped. I've monitored the ping and it is usually around 32-50, but it constantly spikes to 3k+ for roughly 10 seconds, it also disconnects at random intervals. I've tried updating the networking drivers, disabling firewalls and changes the preferences.

I'm suffering with this annoying internet connection for a months. I'm using a router (tp-link) which I think the source of the problem ,yet I'm not sure. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my EA2700 for about 6 months now. Have had no problems until about a month ago. One night I could not get the router to connect to the internet. First thoughts were that the cable connection had gone down. When I finally started to trouble shoot I was able to confirm the cable connection is fine by connecting to the modem directly.
Out of the modem I am getting 14+ Mbps. (I only Pay for 10 So a plus there)
I could not get the router to connect to the internet. I ended up resetting the router and reconfiguring it. Ever since then I have been getting really unstable connection to the internet.
When I connect directly to the modem (cabled) I am getting a nice steady connection . When I add the router and hardware in I get a good connection only a Mbps or 2 drop off and a pretty steady connection. Then when I connect over WIFI I get a much larger drop off depending on if the device is a 2.4 or a 5
The connection is extremely unstable. The curve on the graph {URL} is very peaky and has extreme highs and lows. This is multiplied when running on the GHz (as my laptop runs on). My Iphone running on GHz. I can pull down 9 Mbps but the curve is still up and down. Iphone on GHz I barely get Mbps and it is extremely choppy on the graph.
I am able to back this up with my I PAD. I can only confirm the 2.4 number with the laptop as it does not have GHz radio in it. So every thing that us running on the 2.4 is getting poor connections.
I also suspect that the through put on the wired side is poor as well. I am unable to prove it as every test I run shows a good connection but netflix has been locking up and I have to restart what ever I am watching 2 to even 10 times a show. I need to do more testing to be sure the network or the devices are to blame.
I am tethering 4g on my Gs3. i am using the wifi tether app rooted. i can connect to my pc and speedtest gives me 25mbps down and about 13 up. but when i connect to my xbox my connection is extremely slow and i only have 3 bars. dont understand whats wrong. and also when i download files it can never go above 1mb. and its not the files because i have downloaded many and its the same story. my brother has the same connection with a nexus and gets 3mb on his files. why my tether is so slow and anything i can do to fix it.

When they installed the new service, my modem was replaced with a Cisco DDR 2200-CL modem and router in one. On Monday of this week my internet speeds had dropped. I check my speeds on speedtest.net several times and it was under 1Mb each time. After an hour I called and scheduled a technician to come and check it out. He came the next day, but my speeds were back to almost 10Mb again, and he couldn't find any problems.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo recently I've gotten a new laptop, but now when I try to connect to out wireless internet from my room it has an extremely weak signal and will constantly suffer from constant disconnects and spikes in latency. Occasionally it causes web pages to load incorrectly and makes games unplayable when they were fine before and videos will take a long time to load. The new laptop has a different network adapter ( Intel Centrino Advanced-M 6235 ) and has Windows 8 installed instead of Windows 7 like my old laptop had. The problem happened both when using my router at my house and one at my friend's house which uses an entirely different router. The problem seems with my laptop and not specific to any one router.When trying to ping google.com it will usually stay at around 31ms but will occaisonally jump to around something much higher like 300ms or so for a few pings then go back to normal. If trying to do something like playing a game then it can start shooting all the way up to over 1000-2000 and will sometimes just have the request time out. [code]

However, I recently moved in with my girlfriend who has a Virgin media connection and, although I can connect to it without problems, it is extremely slow (around 0.30 mbps) whereas my girlfriend's laptop is fine (9.74 mbps), we both have iPhones which are also fine therefore I'm pretty certain the problem lies with my laptop. I have tried updating the wireless card's drivers (windows tells me they are up to date) and I've also tried disabling my Norton 360 but it didn't make any difference.

For a few days now, my internet has been as the title suggests. A speed test has shown my download and upload speeds to be about 0.06 mbps each. Every once in a while, I try a diagnose and repair, and occasionally I get one of either "Reset your TCP/IP settings" or "Improve your TCP/IP performance", but neither works. I've tried resetting my modem and have done a system restore to no avail. Offline performance is good, RAM is in good shape, etc. AVG hasn't found any viruses or spyware. It's an ethernet cable, by the way.

I use the internal modem behind the battery where you insert the card, if I insert an external dongle using the same sim card it seems to work just fine. Before the reinstall it was just fine, connection speed was great 3g etc, now it is slower than an old 56k dial up (no kidding) I have asked the company where I bought it, but they cant find the problem. Is there a setting or update etc that I need?

Issues are: WAN 1 port resets to 0.0.0.0 regularly and traffic on WAN 1 fails DNS fails regularly behind the RV016 onlyIntermittent internet connection behind the RV016Slow internet connection behind the RV016Extremely slow DNS query and reply behind the RV016 (DNS resolve takes 1min -1m30)

We have an ASA 5510 and are experiencing unbelievably slow speeds. I noticed a problem last Thursday with users complaining of slow speeds and realized our interface had a ton of errors and was running at half duplex. I contacted the ISP (we are connected to their 3750) and they swore up and down they were set to full. So they had me switch to full and the interface shut down. I asked them to switch to auto and the interface came back up and we went to full, and of course the errors and colisions stopped. However the errors and packet drops have not stopped. The ISP sent out a technician and they determined it wasn't a problem on their end by plugging in a laptop and testing the speed--that worked fine. Eventually I plugged in a Sonicwall and bypassed the ASA completely and that worked fine. We plugged the ASA back in and we we went back to dropping packets. I put an old config on the ASA and oddly enough it seemed to have fixed the problem but we were still dropping packets. So I put the most recent config back on and that worked fine up until today. We're back in the some boat we were last week. So my first question is when I do a show int and see packets dropped - is that normal because of ACLs etc, or would that be show in another place? I have not made any configuration changes to the ASA ina couple of months. The interface counters were cleared about 45 minutes ago if that's how quickly the errors/packet drops are adding up.
I have been having problems with my Internet the past couple weeks. If I am watching a video, it doesn't matter which site, the video will stop and start from the beginning or the video will just stop altogether and I have to refresh the page. Another problem that happens while browsing, it will take about a minute for a page to load. The computer I am using is wired right into the router.
The rest of the family's computers the apple tv and the roku are wireless. I have been hearing complaints from them and have witnessed the laggyness. While streaming videos on the roku or apple tv, the video will stop and say video is not available or no connection. This is what I get from ipconfig/all

I recently moved back home with my desktop that use to be plugged in via ethernet. I bought a PCI Wireless card and I have been having problems connecting to and staying connected with the network. Once I am connected the connection speed is very slow. I have tried reinstalling windows and my card several times, even going to the store to swap it out. I have a feeling that one simple setting is changed, but I can't figure out what it is. I am currently on a laptop that is also running windows 7, but has none of the problems of the desktop. I tried to run the Netalyzer program on the desktop, however, the network disconnected as soon as I tried. View 4 Replies View RelatedSo my issue has been going on for a while now a while after I replaced the router from a DIR-535(If I recall) to a DIR-635. Now the problem resides in my computer however as it would seem that I randomly tend to loose internet acces and it only applies to my computer in the form of obviously loss of internet and the horrid warning triangel in the corner. I've tried removing and restarting the connection without any succes, I also tried to do a ipconfig /release /flushdns and /renew but it didnt seem to do anything either, basically been throwing attempts at a wall to see what works.
As far as the actual card goes it's a Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter.
I am currently seeing some stability problems with a 2504 WLC and a wireless bridge (Netgear WNCE2001 to be exact). The wireless bridge can connect to the network, but is very unstable. It will disconnect after 5 - 60 minutes of operation.
I believe part of the issue is that the bridges, when associated, do not show up as a WGB according to the WLC.
Any WGBs that are known to work well in a controller based environment? The WLC is running 7.0.220.0 and the APs are 1142s and 3502s.
I've been having big problems with my Belkin router. The connection is often slow even after restarts etc. I'm not sure whether it's the line quality/broadband usage/router quality that's causing the problem. We have been able to configure the VPN server on the SA520 however the connection is very unstable.We use OS X 10.7 lion built-in Cisco compatible VPN clients and this is a typical output of ping from 3G mobile network to a server inside the office network. It works the same way also if I am trying to access from my home ADSL connection so the problem is not the instability of the 3G connection.

Before I put in place any network security appliance POC, my wireless network worked fine.Note: ethernet works fine all the time and confirm my internet is okay too. Just wireless.
First time, I got Palo Alto vendor to setup POC. It screwed up my wireless. We removed on 1st day itself and re-configured everything all over again.Now before holiday break, Sonicwall vendor setup POC for us. It worked fine though for 1 week and now the wireless gone crazy again.
3 bars, 2 bars, 5 bars, sometimes no bar.Then when there's POC, my guest wireless network will dead too.

I am having trouble with an pair of WAP200E's. The bridge between them stalls, found that one of the AP wireless LED don't show any activity. After powercycle the stalled AP, the bridge works again for a day or two. Have tried to replace the AP's still the same issue

I bought a Netgear N600 wireless adapter (WNDA3100).I used wired before mostly without problems but was annoyed by the cables.My router is a Netgear WNDR3300 and I never had problems with it.The problem is that sometimes my wireless adapter just stops working and drops the connection.I use it since a few days, and it already happened several times.It happened especially when I was streaming videos to my PS3 (my PS3 is also wireless). It also happened while I was watching Youtube videos. When this happens, I need to unplug the adapter and plug it again. Sometimes, I need to restart the whole computer for my adapter to work again.Is this normal with USB wireless adapters? This is unacceptable to me.I want a stable connection.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince a few days I've installed my Sitecom 300N Repeater to extend the wifi signal at my home.I named my repeater the same as my wifi UPC modem (Cisco EPC3925), so the PC will see 1 connection instead of 2. I also turned off the DHCP server on the repeater (not sure what it does, but it was recommended when I was goggling around).fortunately I'm experiencing a lot of trouble. Although I can connect to the repeater, the signal is not always stable. Many times my connection speed is as low as 3 Mbps. When I quickly turn the power off and on it instantly jumps back to around 40 Mbps and stays like that for a few hours/days.It's very hard to debug this problem because after resetting the the repeater is doing very good until it slows down or even dispersers after a few hours.

My ping times to google.com usually is around 72-84 ms which I continue to get if I hook up the cable modem directly to the PC. As soon as I utilize the Linksys router, I start getting higher ping times anywhere from 72-300 ms. Firmware version is 1.5.01 which I recently upgraded to. I tried resetting and so on. Is there an older firmware version that works better? I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

After reloading the router the tunnel is stable, but afterwards we loose the connection to the LAN unexpectidly (max. time of the connexion is ~2h30).
In fact after a reload the first ISAKMP SA is well negotiated with conn-id 2001 and after a certain amout of time the connexion is lost always associated with this debug message =>

We supposed it was related to DPD messages so we deactivated the keepalive (no crypto isakp keepalive). We tried to play also with the ACL matching the crypto map (currently from local subnets to any), but still no luck.
When it is stable the ‘show crypto isakmp sa’ indicates a isakmp sa ‘QM_IDLE / ACTIVE), and when the problem occurs the active ISAKMP SA is deleted and recreated (in ACTIVE state) continuously : conn-id 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 etc...…but still no access to the LAN.
My main question is to know if someone has already know the signification of the previous ISAKMP debug messages (along with the total debug message + crypto conf from the beginning of the problem) =>May it be a platform support (near 200 ipsec flow in use => most subnet to subnet flow, few subnet to host flows- 200 users on site) , compatiblity, crypto map acl …???
My desktops _usually_ connect, and then the connection will drop/go slow(14400 slow)/give that little yelow triangle on top of the wifi icon.First i had an edimax wifi PCI, now i have a trendnet wifi PCI. They both do the same thing.If i connect my HTC hero and start internet sharing, it works very well, and is stable. My ethernet works fine as well. It is like my computer is immune to PCI cards?I have tried with different wifi APs now, but its still the same.I have a zyxel adsl modem, and a linksys wifi AP hooked up to that. I noticed, that when my desktop is connected, the zyxel will get some kind of overflow from the linksys. It says "client reached max number of sessions per host" It's like my desktop is killing the network. I have tried many things. Drivers, fail safe, registry cleaner(I know), killing all unnescessary program, switching the PCI ports, but none of it seems to work.

I have a Linksys WRT110 wireless router for my desktop via a D-link DWA-125 wireless adapter. The OS is Windows 7 64 bit and I mainly go online to play games. This has been a while and every time I play games, which requires stable connection, I will get this lag (the ping goes as high as 600ms for every few seconds then goes back to normal).I tried many ways to troubleshoot and find no solutions. I updated firmware for USB adapter, power cycling the router and reset the router many times.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought the WMP600N because Linksys and Microsoft listed it as 'compatible' for Windows 7 x64. My experience:
- unstable and weak connection
- pings to websites like google.com drops, average: 1 out of 3
- low signal, on the same spot my three years old HP-laptop with 'a build in wireless card' has full signal strength in Windows 7
- it works well under Windows XP (32 bit)
I am convinced that drivers for the WMP600N are not ready for Window 7 x64. Linksys (or Ralink, which developed the chipset), release a proper driver for the WMP600N.
I don't know if this because buggy firmware (i updated to V1.00.16) or there something wrong with the device but if i set radio band to AUTO which enable wide-channel, my wireless connection become unstable when i ping to the modem, i got 200ms - timeout randomly
my family notebook that on other side of room connection also become more worst , ping to the modem (192.168.1.1) timeout so often
the connections seems better if i set radio band to standard - 20Mhz channel even though it seems WAG54G2 have more stable wireless connection (i replace it because the ethernet port dead) i also tried to change the channel, but the issue still persist, it seems the default is the most stable (channel 9 for wide, 11 for standard)
should i RMA the product as i just purchase last week? or it just because the bad firmware ?
