L-WR740N - Unable To Access Router Interface After Altering Its IP Address

I've been trying to configure a TP-Link L-WR740N to act as an access point using the instructions here as a guide. As stated in the guide, I've been changing the IP address of the TP-Link router to a new address that lies outwith the pool of available DHCP addresses in my combined modem/router but with less than resounding success. After rebooting the TP-Link router, I am unable to access the set-up interface - the newly allocated IP address doesn't work, neither does the original IP address work. What is happening here? If I change the IP address to one that lies within the DHCP pool and reboot, I can access it ok with the new address. However, that obviously clashes with the set-up instructions.

I have a problem with my tp-link router. I dont have an internet access of the router, updated firmware... When i connect to router by laptop the internet works fine, but when i connect to router by phone i have an internet access only 5 second and than i lost it, but still connected. I don't know what is the problem here, maybe phone?
Im getting internet but i cant access my router address to get my config page. I had broadband wired internet a few days ago but now im using a wireless connection could that be the problem?
I have connected the input cable of router to LAN port instead of INTERNET port and i got internet (some time only). due to that I caught by the authority and they are saying that change of port was the problem. Already there was a problem to our server (might be hardware problem).
My SIP provider is not convinced that my ASA and Edge Router is not altering the SIP packets. On the ASA I've removed the inspect SIP, and H323, what else needs to be done to make the firewall not mess with the SIP Traffic.

On the 3825 Its jsut a pretty simple config that jsut routes packets form one interface to another, all Public Addresses, so no NAT on it.
My router was working just fine when a lightning struck. I cant seem to connect to the router's configuration page (192.168.1.1) anymore, All the lights on the router are on and I tried to reset it to default settings several times but still it wont connect. I tried it on a laptop but I still cant get it to connect. I can surf the net just fine when using the ADSL modem though. I can ping the IPaddress 192.168.1.100 but can't ping the default gateway which is 192.168.1.1. I also tried switching to another cable just in case but to no avail.

I got a new TP-Link WR740N router and I'm having a problem with it. Everytime I enable security (WEP, WPA etc.) the signal on all notebooks will go "local access only" immediately, even if I use the right password. Router signal is always there, but Internet access will only be available if security is set to "unprotected" on the router setup. Funny thing is that my old router (Linksys WRT54) had WPA2 on and everything was ok.
I have a wrt54gs v7 and a wap54g v3.1. Both have latest firmware on them. I set the access point to act as a repeater and entered the mac address from the router (It said to use the lan mac address. is that right?). I have them set on same subnet with static ip addresses. They have same wireless ssid and password with one using channel 10 and the other using channel 2. I can receive an ip address from the router and connect to internet. I cannot get an ip address from the access point. I tried a static ip on the computer and it will connect, but I don't have internet. Am I missing something in the setup? Can this access point act as a repeater for this router?
I am using TP-Link TL-WR740N as mentioned.Now I have a problem. In side my LAN I have four different PCs listening as Telnet Server at port 23. I want to create a telnet session over Internet with one of my PCs at a time.How should I do this? I mean what IP and Port number I should use to connect to my desired PC since all of my PCs are showing same public IP and that is of my router's IP.

I've been having this issue for quite some time on my Windows 7 SP3 x64 machine. It's a desktop, connected via ethernet to a TP-Link WR740N router, that also provides wireless coverage. My ISP is a local one (the country is Latvia), and it offers a decent 100 MBps up/down optical fiber internet service. Now for the problem - there is only one home network on my computer, that seems to work, and that is 'Network 2'. Whenever I have to reboot the router for whatever reason, it attempts to reconnect, but sometimes reconnects to a 'Network 3' and once even to a 'Network 4' and 'Network 5'. None of these other networks have internet access. I tried to run the diagnostics tool on the issue, and usually it told me that there's a problem with the default gateway. Additionally, twice I've had the issue of the computer completely freezing when connected to one of the Internet-less networks (eg 'Network 3'), and trying to disable the network adapter, forcing a restart that consequently caused a fail boot - from there on I had to use System Restore to actually get my PC to function.
The way I've been fixing it, apart from random rebooting, reconnecting, and hoping for the best (that it decides it wants 'Network 2'), is by putting in the Resource Mini CD that came with my router, and running the Wizard for the WR740N router. It has 4 steps, the 2nd of which is 'Installing the router' (configuring the network adapter), at which point, my internet starts to work (always connects to 'Network 2'). If, I however, decide to continue this process to the step 'Configure router', and attempt to set up my wireless connection, it will begin to reset itself, and once again connect to 'Network 3', leaving me without internet access.
I can't seem to be able to access my wireless routers settings on my iMac, whenever I type my router's ip adress in my browser's adress bar it's unable to connect. According to the network settings menu my router's ip adress is 78.21.0.1, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I have been working on figuring out a VPN problem on my companies ASA5510. I was accessing the device via: ASDM, SSH using Putty, and even initially with a console cable (also using Putty) using a computer in the networking closet. All 3 of these access methods worked properly for me.I believe I may have inadvertently changed something as of Friday using ASDM. I am mostly assuming this because, as of yesterday I can no longer connect to the device. I actually cannot even communicate with it (ping the interface I normally use to manage, which I could previously ping). No computer on the same subnet as me is able to ping the interface. The device is still accepting VPN connections, dishing out DHCP addresses and everything else it normally does, but I really need to be able to gain access to it again. I am thinking to reboot the device when there is some downtime, in the hopes that ASDM doesn't save to startup-config and only to running-config.
I am the Systems Admin at LDM Media and am trying to get some support for one of the SRW224G4 managed switches we have in our rack. The issue is as follows:
Any endpoint connected to the switch is assigned an IP address in the range of 169.254.154.XXX regardless of the switches set IP range, the second issue is that I cannot access the web view management interface through the default IP address 192.168.1.254 (and I have tried to use the last IP in the range set by the router 169.254.154.254, to no avail)
How to regaining control of this supposedly smart switch?
I can't access the bvi interface I use to manage the AP1261N from an IP address that is not in the same subnet of the bvi interface. The AP is configured as root bridge. Obviously I've the same behaviour for the non-root AP connected to it. For sure it's an ap configuration problem as other devices in the same vlan (vlan1) are reachable by the vlan I'm connected to. I'm configuring a 5505 for a remote office. Until they are assigned a static ip by the provider I will have to use the providers dhcp address. How do I construct an access list for the outside interface using the external address if I don't know it yet? is there a commnd that will insert the ip address in to the access list once one is assigned?

I am facing some issue in LAN network.I have connected one desktop( win 7) and another desktop (win xp) to the TP link router. Both the computers got ip address and able to share the internet. But both the computers are not in the same network. That is they cant PING each other. hence they are not visible to each other.
I bought a Linksys WAP610N today, i placed it so i could get a signal where i can't normally.
The thing is i configured it correctly, well at least i think, i can see it on my wireless network, with a good signal, but on my Android tablet (Google Nexus 7), it can't get past the "Obtaining IP address".
I called the technical support, the person there tried to assist me for about 1 hour, we tried different settings, we upgraded firmware from 1.0.01 to 1.0.04, but it didn't worked. Now he said someone will call me tomorrow during the afternoon.
My router isn't Linksys, it's a Netgear, i don't have wireless problem when i connect my tablets or any other wireless device on it, it's just that i bought this WAP610N to have the signal in my bedroom, where i don't get any signal normally.

i have a problem with my tp-link wr740n.everytime i restart or power up may computer. my internet is no internet access and the ip address is autoconfiguration ipv4 : 169.254.x.x but when i unplug the cable on router and plugin again. the internet is back. everyday is happening this no internet access and the ipv4 : 169.254.x.x?

I seted up router and i coud acces the utility window, then i switced from w7x32 to w7x64 and then i try to acces the utility window i can only see.Username or Password is incorrect.Is the "Caps Lock" enabled on your keyboard? For reasons I will explain in a separate thread, following a firmware upgrade to version 2.00.21, I am no longer able to connect to my WRT300N using the web interface. The device seems to be working fine (but for the lack of the web config access.) I'm loathe to leave it "inaccessible" and would like to use the Setup CD-ROM described in the manuals to connect directly to the device to see if I can fix the problem.
I have been through my "filing system" (read "junk room") to try to find the original device packaging, wherein I am sure I would find the original CD-ROM. Is there anywhere I can download an image of the original Linksys Setup CD-ROM for the WRT300N version 2.0 device?
I have just updated a VLAN interface on my router. I have two 6500's with GLBP configured. The particular interface had a primary and secondary IP address. I shutdown the interface on one router and deleted the secondary address then assigned the orignal secondary address to be the be the only address associated with the interface and enabled the interface and it came right back up...all looks good. I proceeded to do the same thing to the other router and once again all looked good. Now, I am able to PING the devices in the subnet from router, but am unable to ping them from any place else. I have a high speed wireless DSL router from my ISP (Telus). I use one port off the router to connect directly to my desktop computer. Another port is connected to a switch to which ethernet cables to three other rooms are connected. My problem is that when I connect my Bell PVR (9242) to the 'switched' ethernet cable, I'm apparently not able to get a dynamic ip address, which the Bell unit requires, and can't connect to the network.can I connect another router, in place of the switch, to deliver dynamic IP addresses to whatever I connect to the ports in the other rooms in my house?

One technician said that this is the providers problem, but I don't think so. When I restart the modem everything works.I have a Netgear WGR614 v9 router.I use ESET 5 security. Btw, connection drops on all computers connected through the router, so it's not my firewall.
I just got a TL- WR740N router and somehow managed to configure it using my girlfriends Acer Aspire One Happy netbook.The internet works fine when the netbook is connected to the router via cable but it can't connect wirelessly to the network I have created. At first some massege appeared saying that there are 2 identical IP's and there is a conflict or something like that. Now it just stops trying to connect to the network. I can connect with my own laptop tho.
I have a weird problem. I bought recently a new router, and when I try to connect to the settings on it on http://198.168.0.1 it sometimes works, mostly doesn't. When I ping other devices which are connected it, it's the same; sometimes get a response, mostly I don't. The router model is: TP-LINK 150Mbps Wireless N Router TL-WR740N, The thing which it's connected to is entitled "ADSL2+ Ethernet bridge router" That aforementioned thing is suppoused to be a modem. But, when I try to connect to its settings from http://10.0.0.138 , I'm able to, and other who are connected to the network give response to a ping.
